We're rock bottom on both counts. So much for JDT's attacking football.
so you can make statistics fit what ever narrative you want , you could say that our strikers are more accurate than the rest of the league as we score every 8.3 shots on target,

Rovers have dropped their interest in both Van Den Berg and Van Hecke I'm hearing and have switched their sights to Van Halen who could rock up as early as tomorrow. Have I told you lately that Van Morrison is available too?
i have heard it could be Dick Van Dyke he has played sweeper before

WARNING: You will get distracted from what you should be doing today and watch this about 10 times on repeat.
I have watched it a few times and i said last night why are players allowed to dive in front of players to stop them getting to the ball ,anywhere else on the pitch and its a free kick.

Few observations from my end:
That was an absolute joy to see. Young lads, working hard vs lower league opposition. None of this boring Mowbray esque bullshit about being young lads followed up by a lazy performance we've grown accustomed to.
Dack showing what he's all about. Not seen enough of Szmodics yet, but only one man in the club prior to his arrival makes the run Dack did for his goal. Gallagher and Vale should take notes. 5 seconds of effort in return of a goal. Unlucky not to have one in the first half too on the stretch. Hopefully he gives JDT a real headache as to team selection over the next couple of weeks.
Edun looked good. Maybe that's his level? Although he had another promising cameo against Swansea. Positive.
A. Wharton looks good, just a bit under developed for championship football for me. I'd be looking to bring another CM in and loan him out.
JDT & Remy look like the real deal tactically. That team knew exactly what they had to do and how to do it. And the lads who didn't get on having to do a 45 min training session in front of both at 10pm last night was fantastic. All the lads are currently in 6 days a week (Mondays off) and seem to be buying into it so far.
My only worry is squad depth and how far from behind we have come from this window. Even with a few signings, the demands of the championship will take its toll on this style of football. I'm 'happy' to see this as a season of massive transition, we'll lose some games and drop silly points like any team will. But another 2 windows with JDT and Broughton and next season is looking, at this stage, like a real opportunity to end our exile from the Prem. The foundations are laid and now it's about adding quality. Mowbray added filler players and sat them on the bench for 6 weeks whilst his favourites picked up 5 points to 'learn how we play'. Broughton is signing players better than what we currently have/players who will genuinely push for a starting spot.
Breath of fresh air, all of it.
If we had loaned Adam Wharton from a top 6 premier side we would be more than happy with his performance and would cut he more slack , i think we have to start realizing we have a top academy I bet JDT cant believe his luck with whats coming through.

Hot on the heels of the pitch shambles at Coventry, I was reading that there's an egg chasing game on at Wigan the night before they entertain Burnley.
Surely the pitch is gonna end up a bit battered?
you would have thought the EFL would have reversed the first |Coventry fixture knowing the commonwealth games rugby was on at their ground but then again it is the EFL.

hope we sign someone soon before we are discussing the merits of the 1928 cup winning side and how we miss the half backs etc.

I doubt it - he came to Rovers as a man. Well, he already smoked 30 a day and sank 10 pints at every sitting anyway 😂
always thought he came as an apprentice

I think our pay structure is at fault.
Why can't Phillips stay until he's 24 and earning £4k pw🤠
Always just one bad tackle or fall from the end of a career.
What would you advise your son to do in these circumstances?
that could happen now and where would that leave him if he plays now.cant see why we cant just insert a release clause in his contract so both parties are happy

At this point we don’t need a head of recruitment, we need players.
What was Broughton brought in for then?
you only need a head of recruitment if you are going to recruit someone so not needed here

I'd just like to casually mention again that this thread title says u21s and there is no such age category at the club, nor has there been for several years. Could someone change it please?
could you change it back to u21 as they are reverted back to u21 this season

Anyone else a little unnerved by all the youths being given pro contracts? Law of averages says at least half of them are never going to be good enough for the first team.
Just seems a way of filling the numbers which doesn't exactly bode well on transfers. Particularly when you think of wages we are dishing out on these untested players. Just hoping they won't be on a lot of money so it won't make too much of a dent.
or they have realised that you can get a fee for players under contract

fixtures could have been better like no games in February!
