  1. Just thinking out loud here.

Is it possible we've been interested in some players abroad but ala Gallagher, have decided to try and wait it out to keep the price down?

Difference being is we are coming to the end of the window whilst European clubs have a few weeks longer, So they're in no hurry to sell at a reduced rate.

Maybe I'm giving TM too much slack. Either way, I'll be well within my rights to judge next week and fingers crossed we pull something out the bag before then.

  2. I'm glad he's stopping around. It does appear we have a crop of youngsters coming through who can play at this level and maybe higher.

I'm all up for seeing some of these kids play.

Buckley has me as excited as the first time I saw Duff play. Different positions and styles, but clearly good technique and a good brain for a young lad. He's probably bound for better things than Blackburn Rovers if he continues his upward trajectory, but I'm hoping we get to watch a decent chunk of his progression at Ewood.

Rovers will try for Assombalonga ahead of Gallagher. Proven goalscorer that would take us up.

If that happens to be true and we somehow happen to pull it off. Then I think everyone could agree that's a game changer. Excellent signing and a good age.

My only worry is would the price interfere with sorting the real problem out (defence). Or are we going to see these once a summer "marquee"* signings as an added bonus? We can dream huh.

*I'm classing Brereton in that bracket since we spunked £7m on the lad. Despite his limited return so far.

Chris Wilder extolling the virtues of good old fashioned defending after the Leeds game. Says his defenders want to defend. Think that's 7 clean sheets in a row.

We need a manager like him.

Which makes it all the more confusing why we're tripe at the back, considering Mowbrays very decent career as a centre half. That back line of ours too often look like a bunch of strangers rangled off the street.

tony has done great i just dnt think in long run he is the man to take us up sorry just my view

I'd probably agree with you there. I don't think he is.

However I agree with the sentiments that we aren't ready to go up yet, the results alone show that. But in a way, I'd rather not do this season. This is the first time in a long time I can see some sort of plan at Ewood, and that is largely down to Mowbray. The players we've brought in, the team spirit, the gradual introduction of some of the youngsters - it's a far cry from dicking 80k on Etuhu and Murphy.

The team needs help as Mowbray has said before, today it showed. But let's give the guy a chance to build a proper challenging championship team (the summer window and next Jan) before we start looking elsewhere.
