Brace positions...
Who's off and for how much?

Very very talented player. But 300k shouldn't be spent on a 19 year old midfielder.

Oh I thought you meant a brand new signing haha would be a great steal if it was kipre. How did you hear about this?
Seems to be direct from Mowbray himself post game.

Yeah he's had his best ever competitive game for Rovers I think. But it's been a performance of a winger not really a striker.
So odd to have a 6ft+ striker who seems to want to be a winger - always starting wide and running at players with ball at feet. And hates all the classic centre forward play - ie. getting in the box, heading it, playing back to goal etc (before people say "Mowbray made him like that - as far as I can tell he was like that at Forest too).
But he has been at his best so far today.
I think ironically whichever of Armstrong or Brereton Mowbray decides to play down the middle - they have a quiet game.
Both seem more comfortable coming in from the wing.

First time I've seen Dolan and I was concerned about his size when he first came on, thinking he'd be flighty.
Don't think I've seen him knocked off the ball bar two obvious fouls. Intelligent with his body.

I never have been. Has far to many poor games for me. Not domminate enough..
You can tell he's a converted midfielder. If you didn't know any better, off today's game. You could be forgiven for thinking Wharton was our steadfast centre half and Lenihan the perennial loanee.

Dolans got to be ahead of Chapman in the pecking order now.

I don't want to see Bell wear the shirt again. Absolutely terrible, looks completely disinterested and incapable.

Mentioned this in the transfer thread - that I think there's more of an urgent need to replace our left-back than fill the "gap" at centre-back. Wharton has proved steady, and I've also been impressed with Carter. Bell, however...
I'm also not totally convinced that JRC can perform defensively. Doncaster's best chance came from him being caught far up the pitch, and I noticed one or two issues in the last couple o friendlies with his defending. If Nyambe is injured, it's either Bennett or JRC - neither of which are great defensively (and I'm not convinced that Nyambe is, either).
Agreed. Going forward on the overlap he's made 2 or 3 intelligent runs this half. But it's obvious defending isn't his forte.

On another note. Someone's going to get injured this season if the pitch remains in this condition.
Huge pockets of grass and soil being dug up, players losing their footing. And at least one poor challenge partly caused by the turf.

Saw him a couple of times last season. Always looked decent. He is a left footer as has been mentioned. Bit of a cult hero at Charlton. On a free on the face of it, looks a good signing.
I can't find it at the moment. There's a video somewhere of a ball he puts in the box for Lyle Taylor against Forest last season. If it was Robertson or Alexander Arnold, Sky would be waxing lyrical.
Edit: found the video, looks like it's been filmed using a potato.

There is interest from WBA.
No bid from them yet.
Expect progress tomorrow.
Still being told Leeds are hovering.
Only team to put in a formal bid is Rovers.
There's (rightly) a lot of stick towards the senior leadership as to our usual speed in the transfer market.
I'm actually rather impressed at how we've moved very swiftly onto the next target, once we got an experienced keeper through the door.
Long may this trend continue.

His brother plays for Skem, so maybe he wants to stay in the North West to be close to family.
I'd still expect however as a professional footballer, you'd want to take an opportunity in the PL if the opportunity arises. So if its a straight race between us and WBA, i don't think we have a prayer.
-
From a fitness perspective, he should be fine for when the season starts. If I remember correctly, the Belgian league (like Ligue 1) ended their season early. So he's had a decent break and then a somewhat "proper" pre-season, with their league already 2 games into the season.

Maybe there's the option to drop the offer to Downing who doesn't seem interested, to give Westwood a decent wage (less than the reported 30k he's on). It's what I'd do if I was Mowbray.

Some rumblings Iv heard although the main one being we are very tight with money and nothing is remotely close
lindsay deal looking complicated- starting to look at alternatives. Elliot Moore and bailey wright mentioned- neither close.
goalkeepers- looking at the freebs foreign market but issues getting them over to look at- fancy mitryushkin but nowhere near front of the queue
other freebs - timo letschert. We raided the Hamburg cast offs last season, probably nothing
mowbray wants an experienced striker to replace graham as he knows current mob are inexperienced- wants to talk to chris Martin to see if wages could be Negotiated. Too high currently.
rudy gestede has also been put in front of mowbray but seems unlikely
believe Cunningham will end up back here.
a few loans will also be coming from the usual sources- big clubs youngstersmight just be one keeper coming with fisher promoted to back up
If Monaco are looking at that keeper, he can't be terrible surely?

Well clubs will probably be excluded from the rules. All players will be tested on return. Plenty have been overseas on holiday in recent weeks
Sadly not the case Chaddy. I remember hearing a few weeks ago about Valladolid's defender Mohamed Salisu "on his way to England" to sign for Southampton. It'd all gone quiet until yesterday when they announced the signing and mentioned he'd passed a medical after being required to follow UK quarantine rules for however many days it was. You'd have to imagine now that most players signed are going to be UK based.

So you basically give them the potential pro's.
"Look Madame, if we organise the budget before the season ends, we could get a march on our rivals. There's the potential for us to get some good players at lower prices that could really push us on."
That's not nagging, that's explaining the landscape and business benefits of quick decision making.

Yeah Martinez at Arsenal I would be all over. Been loaned to the championship before and shone. Rather get him permanently tho.
Wasn't he the one we were looking at for a while and waiting for an answer before having to quickly pick up Walton?
I may be mistaken, but I thought that was mentioned on here last summer. Look at what we could've won.

I was gonna suggest David CrackingJohnson* to fill the void left by Graham.
