  1. We watched Atlantis last night. I'm usually a big supporter of BBC programming but Jason (mythical), Hercules (mythical) and Pythagaros (I'm sure he proved something) in the same programme set in a mythical land? Hercules was the greatest of Greek heroes - this guy needs a serious transformation. Now I am assuming "Jason" is he of Jason and the Argonauts. Do the beeb not know their basic Greek mythology? Theseus slew the Minotaur. This nonsense is aimed at a family audience which will leave a whole bunch of kids with a totally inaccurate view of Greek mythology. Even more worrying my wife is capable of watching Strictly, Atlantis and Casualty. I may take up knitting.

    Pythagoras was the right-angled triangle bloke. A-squared plus B-squared = C-squared.

  2. Annie's in Manchester is VERY good. Tasty food (very northern feel, with good fish and chips, an awesome sunday roast and truly excellent choices of pie).

Worth a visit for sure. Pub-food prices in the middle of Manc seem cheap but very nice food. Just watch out for the drinks, mind. 5 of us paid a bill of about £110.

  3. Stuart Broad's dad Chris Broad was a feisty beggar too, often in trouble with authorities. He scored 7 Test hundreds - all of them outside 4 of them in Australia. I guess Stuart Broad will be loving this fuss.

i know all about our shameful football violence thanks but we're talking cricket here.

Yeah because that makes violence different......

  4. Au contraire, my dear boy. Sir David on their "feral" crowds, below

    http://www.theage.com.au/sport/cricket/australia-has-no-culture-gower-hits-out-at-feral-cricket-fans-20130605-2noyq.html.

Also, read John Snow's account of the 1970 tour (you know, as in "read" his book - those weird things in libraries and bookshops).

No need to be a condescending old fart. Before judging the Aussies I suggest you read up on our history of sporting violence. Comparatively, the Aussies are corgis to out rottweilers.

  5. Ocean Palace at BullHill. A little overpriced and reads like a takeaway menu. But bloody tasty, well-cooked and good service.

Watch out for the drinks, mind.

If too late for their early-birddeals then one portion will be easily shared between 2.

  6. England have been accused of "cheating" by an India supporter when it is India that are the biggest cheats in world cricket. You've contributed nothing on here except make silly comments - clear off.

Pointing out your hypocrisy is only silly to you.

Btw, you may want to revise your view that India are the biggest cheats in cricket. They aren't. Indian cricketers are but do these players ever make the India team (which is the point being made)? Nope.

    Try again darling.

  7. Amit Yadav: India T20 international, Mohnish Mishra: India U-19 international, Mohammad Azharuddin: India international, TP Sudhindra: IPL player, Ajay Sharma: India international, Manoj Prabhakar: India international, Ajay Jadeja: India international

A list of shame showing the most corrupt nation in world cricket. A list that contains not one England player. Yet you accuse England of being "cheats and hypocrites" with no morals or ethics. You need to take a good look at yourself.

Get off your high horse and stop suggesting people 'should' support particular teams. Take a good look at yourself.

  8. Funny you should mention Lara because I was in Antigua for the match in 1994 when he scored his 375 - and I watched it with a mixture of horror and fascination ! Like Tendulkar, Lara was a beautiful player to watch, technically very correct unlike Richards who played around his front pad alot and relied on his speed of eye to hit the ball.

I love watching batsmen's different techniques, and also bowlers too, but when it comes to Rovers and England I only want us to win which is why I am always watching our players intently and not the opposition so much. Does that make me a proper fan of the game - I think it does. BTW how did you feel by the way when Sri Lanka were pulversing India for 952 in 1997 ?

I understand your support of India but fail to see why you should not support England as your second team against countries other than India - after all, you live and work here. Failure to do so would make you as contemptible as Lord Haw-Haw above, and I think you're capable of showing more class than the likes of him.

What difference does that make? In footy, do you continue to support England while they play a guy who sees fit to shoot people at training? Esp' given your stance on gun ownership.

That's hypocrisy far beyond simply choosing to support a different team.

  9. Must be good to be a member of the writers' family...

Usually shocking odds, mind. 1/10 or some @#/? like that. There's usually a surprise thrown in if you bet on the 'big' events like WrestleMania or SummerSlam. Potential for a bit of money there.

Quite like doing accumulators on WM tbh. It's a fiver and a bit of fun. As mentioned above though, it's very rare that even 5% of an audience know the outcome of matches.

  10. Trolling? I am just answering the questions that I have been asked. They seem to have the problem, not me. I couldn't give a flying monkeys if an Englishman supported India or bloody Uganda for that matter. So I suggest you direct your "note" elsewhere, Tom. Thank you.

Football is full of cheats, we all know that. Cricket isn't and the disgusting likes of Broad are tarnishing the sport.

So playing to the whistle is cheating? What about rugby? What about throwaway challenges in tennis?

Waiting for the umpire/referee to decide is cheating?
