  1. And Harford didn't want Zidane, let's talk about something else shall we.... :/
  2. red scouse did not turn down duff, rather they could not come up with the princely sum of £17m to trigger the clasue in the contract. i read somewhere that they had made a bid of £8m...which was totally laughable. as they say, regarding pedresen...is that sometime you gotta throw them in and see how good theyare. there is no way of telling how good someone can be unless you give them that chance..... i think he referred to some years ago, when Duffer signed up for us as a youth, he could have chosen Liverpool but they didn't want him.
  3. This is so typical Rovers fans ;-) Let a guy play ONE bad game, and he's the end of the world...... MGP + =
  4. bud (No) = bid/offer (En) Not buddy, or whatever plant you had in mind Also: Men (No) = But (En) Seems there's a lot of traffic from Lancashire on norwegian papers these days
  5. Yeah me too.... I just want to get this deal sorted out!
  6. Could you please give a summary? I'm signed up at the official site, but every once in a while my account wont work and it says my psw is wrong and I have to re-register. I'm tired of doing that every couple of months now
  7. "Martin Taylor?????I just cant get rid of him." T o be honest, if GS is ever to leave the club (God forbid), I'd be happy to see Dunn back at the club. if he's got some quality left at the time, that is
  8. While Todd has been great this year, I find his reactions childish, and ffs NO ONE is guaranteed a place in team, if Todd can't handle that then it's his problem. As a professional earning serious money every week you'd expect a bit more professionalism. If he can't handle not being the boss then we, I am afraid, have no rrom for him. Mind you, this is not the first time Todd's left a club due to internal bust-ups. the manager decides who's gonna play.
  9. Souness has done well for us but please don't make out he's a great manager who's won loads of prestigious trophies. That's simply insulting the intelligence of Rovers fans. Read my post once more, Rover6. I said that suggesting that this dutchman would be so much better than Souness because has won the UEFA cup once is ridiculous. If the guy is gonna use number of trophies won to rate managers, well then I think suggesting one single uefa cup is a lot better than all GS has won, as this guy axtually does if we are to use his own definitions, nevermind experince with british football doesn't matter as well, as long as you once won a single uefa cup, is totally rubbish and premature,. While I often disagree with you Rover6 and find your opinions strange, compared to Neo some of your points actually makes sense ;-)
  10. Oh yeah since this guy with the unpronouncable name has won the ever so fantastic UEFA cup he is a truly more suited manager in the english premiership than GS!!!!! I do not wanna be rude, but I have to ask; Do you know anything about football history? Do you have the slightest idea of what Souness has won, both as player and manager? He is probably one of the most trophy winning guys ever to work at Rovers, and you wanna get rid of him because you know about a guy who actually won the uefa cup!! once! If your logic about him being the right choice because he won a trophy is right, well there can't be anyone better suited for the job than GS can it?? I'm sure even GS himself has lost count of his trophies why don't you suggest that we resign David May to solve our defensive problems? He won the PL you know......
  11. Jan just might hav hade a couple too
  12. Agree 100% Future manager i would like to see though would be paul hart! (did wonders with forrest last season, not had good start to this though) so Paul Hart has done more or less exactely the same as souness then! right? except that Souey has taken us from division 1, and done what Hart has done in the Premiership. Why would you want Hart in instead of souness if thats the case? Well modey actually aid he _agreed_ that he wanted Souey to stay and that he saw Hart as a manager for the future, and I think by future he refers to the future as in the day GS is no longer our manager.
  13. Why do we need yet another thread on this subject?
  14. Yes, it's a shame he offloaded Superstar Grayson to replace him with Curtis and then Neill. What did he think when he sold the Mighty Carsley only for a long haired turk to play in the same position? And I have to say I REALLY miss Ashley "Targetman" Wards many goals! What the ¤#&% can Cole do that Ward can't??? Friedel has just been lucky all the years he's played for us. The truth is he sucks, just ask Houllier. Not to mention Darren "The Wall Peacock! Whu would anyone rather play Berg??? I could go on and on with a lot of players....however if you don't see the difference i don't think there's any point......
  15. While I do not agree, I can see what you're trying to say here. However, most of us are sceptical to unproven managers as Brian Kidd could fit well into those criterias you mention. I do not think I am the only one who is happy he is NOT at the club anymore. I think this smells CM playing a long way...
  16. Rover6, you're calling for Souness' head! Where have you been for the last 3.5 years??? Are you aware of all Souness has brought to this club? Every successful manager in the history of football has unlucky periods sometimes, either by the team underperforming or the goals simply not come, despite of plenty of chances. Besides, kicking Souey (god forbid) would mean that we had to get a new manager. Who do you think is a realistic target, that could do a better job? As long as you cant answer that there is absolutely NO POINT in wanting Souness away!
  17. I agree. LET shouldn't be employing a 'pundit' who can't even be arsed to get to the matches. If he can't make it to a Saturday afternoon match to see Duffer line up against Rovers for the 1st time in his career, then I can't see him making a rainy cold winter's midweek trip anywhere. Sorry Jason, but I still stand my my 'harsh' words. You really need to get to the away games, or at least see them somewhere to be able to give insightful comments of the game. Also, the sooner you start populating your piece with clever one liner put-downs directed towards the dingles the better. One of the highlights of reading RB's column was that it was funny. Maybe we should get colin to proof read your script before it goes to press? To Jasons defence, the game in question (as far as I know) was the Chelsea game, and he DID see it televised at the pub. If I have fallen off and are completely wrong here, feel free to correct me. Cheers
  18. Welcome to the board Jason, it's good that you come here and answer ;-) I totally see your point about the family, being good to your children is the most important thing you can do in this stage of life. About the Neill talk, well, I'm just tired of reading page up and down how bad the tackle was. Had just read some norwegian papers that didn't mention anything else of Rovers, so I logged on to LET to get some other rovers news only to see exactly tha same ;-) Keep up the work
  19. agree, USAblue, this article was rubbish. What's the point in just using 100s of words saying what we all know; That it was a stupid tackle and that we only played with 10 men most of the game? Everyone knows that! Every paper writes that! I like LET cause I usually get more information about Rovers than anywhere else (except from this board maybe ), however, that article is no better than a regular after match commentary here in the norwegian local papers. Nah bring on Revidge
  20. Yeah I agree. The new columnist might not write as good as Rev, but after all it is not his fault they got rid of Rev. I too think it was better before, but the guy is pretty new, give him time and maybe he'll write good stuff. I have to admit I liked the last one
