Jumped before shoved?
Will he take the elite/his faves with him?
Is Tony Parkes available for comment?
Who's next for the hotseat?
So many questions, so little bandwith.
Thanks for promotion, the Worthington Cup and European footie.

Anyone else notice Jason McAteer's appearance on Soccer AM when they were showing his answers to the match programme? Above the one they featured was:
Who would you least like to be stuck in a lift with?
Graeme Souness - enough said!
I guess with Souey's reputation, this could be one poll he'd win hands down.
-
So the knight in shining armour came galloping over the hill to the rescue of the Rovers in the shape of a Coventry reject.
Wonderful.
You've noticed David Thompson is back again,
-
Bothroyd went to Perrugia after spending time at both Coventry and as a youngster at Coventry.
He's got to be good - he'd been at Coventry twice.
Anyhow, the news is now on the official site as well.

I fell asleep on the train home from Leeds. On waking up, I checked the latest on transfer dealings on the BBCs wap service.
Please, someone, tell me that I did actually wake up and it is true and that the last hour isn't the result of some lovely, lovely dream.

Well he's proved his level of loyalty during his stints at Wigan and Palace, hasn't he?
And Sheffield United and Huddersfield Town.
Speaking of Huddersfield, the manager he replaced as a part of the "Ruberry Revolution" that ultimately almost sent the club out of business was Peter Jackson and he's back in charge of the Terriers.
His track record is as follows...
He first took over at Huddersfield 3rd Oct 1997 when they were 24th in Div 1 with just 5 points from 9 games. He guided the club to safety that season, finishing a creditable 16th with 53 points.
The year after (98/99), Jackson took Huddersfield to their highest finish in many a year, 10th in Division One before being sacked as local moneybags 'supporter' Barry Ruberry decided a Big Name was needed at the club - the aforementioned Steve Bruce.
After a few years turmoil for Huddersfield, Peter Jackson returned as manager before the start of the 2003/04 season to see the club emerge from administration but down in Division 3 with only 7 players on the books. Jackson subsequently lead the team to the brink of automatic promotion before missing out on the last regular day of the season, although they did get their just rewards at Cardiff in the playoffs. Along the way, Jackson and his back room staff focussed heavily in the youth system, and we know one of the products quite well.
Huddersfield are currently adjusting merrily to life back in Div 2.
Now if Souey was to go, and the club was scouring the lower divisions for a manager, we could do a lot worse than Peter Jackson.

As season ticket holders can get programmes for £1.50 now, looks like someone is going to make a lucrative business of selling on the latest issue.
-
Well he is at fault for alot of it! We can always blame Eriksson for not picking him!!!!!! or even martin keown for nicking his place!!! poor Janny
To blame for what? Picking the squad that he felt was the best?
Even Chris' scapegoat has more blame..
The story goes that Matt had been measured up for the World Cup suit. He had been told he was in the squad. Then on the day of the squad selection, the announcement was delayed from around 1000 to 1200 and then til 1500. Something was afoot.
Rumour has it, Tord Gripp suggested that taking a 5th centre back (who was to play no part in the competition and was at the end of an international career) was a better idea than take a 5th striker who could play on the left if necessary, and was a rising star for the future.
How much of the above is true is open to debate, but there are numerous sources with the same events in more less the same fashion.

Gally put more effort into the half time draw than Yorke did in the match. He was probably more of a threat to United too.

Another frustrating afternoon. The Premiership in general and the players get better each year, so why the flying uncle can't the refereeing???
As someone else said, 1-1 before the kickoff would have been too much to hope for, even more so after Amo's departure. It would be nice though if the rest of the game didn't have that air of inevitability. Perhaps with Van Horseshead being absent, if Manure had been awarded a penalty, Mr Wiley could have stepped up and taken it for them?
Then again, Brad was wearing his Superman outfit again.
-
Got one hell of a limp also.
What's a limp also?
Is it worse than a stiff also?
-
I am now of the opinion that Souey should go.
Not for any footballing reasons, just so that Jan, kennysuperbuyer, Jim et al will at least have something else to say instead of their incessant bore.
Then again, perhaps not.
-
He told me "outlook not so good" as well.
As for "Will Rovers get a penalty this season?" The reply was "very doubtful."
-
Morten Gamst Pedersen is an anagram of "torments meagre spend".
The warning to the club about putting in too small a bid was clearly there from the start.
-
It's ironic that in 1997, Souness resigned as Saints manager after one season, citing that he had been given only £2m to spend in the transfer market.
He complained bitterly at the time: "How am I able to keep the club competitive in the Premiership with that amount to spend?"
Reading the interview in yesterday's programme, it's clear the reason was the way the new board at Soton at the time shafted Lawrie Mac. As he'd brought Souey to the club, he clearly didn't want to be a part of the new set up.
Then again, I'm sure Souness could never do anything which was not self centred, could he, eh Jan?
-
First half yesterday we saw the Rovers version of "total football" - players clearly given the instruction play wherever they fancy.
Emerton can't be expected to perform both right back and right midfield, when he struggles to do one job.
Three left footers is nice, but they've got to be able to communicate. Perhaps having three nationalities all jabbering in different languages led to confusion?
Three centre backs only works when you have a formation that requires three centre backs, such as in the second half.
Also like to apologise to Revidge. In the Sporting Lisbon thread he made a comment that I replied thus to....
Do you honestly, even remotely, ... think for one fraction of a second Ferguson-Gresko will be the starting pairing in central midfield against West Brom?Try as I might, I really can't wriggle out of that one.
-
Didn't he play there against Vill away just after he joined?
-
Why have I started talking such rubbish?
Ohh, just realised it's not me, but someone has nicked my avatar; the one I provided and that Nice Mr Tchocky uploaded for me.
Neophox, if you are going spout utter piffle, kindly change your picture to one that isn't me. Thank you.

Yes, he helped us win the Worthy Cup and ensured we didn't get relegated.
But look at it in macro terms. He had HALF a season of playing well. The rest has been relatively poor (admittedly with poor service at times).
I don't care if he kept us up; from an £8 million player, you expect more than a dozen good goalscoring games.
What utter and total tosh.
You don't care his goals kept us up? Jeez, for the majority of last season you and a load of other doomsayers were harping on about the disaster of the club facing *certain* relegation. Many here said it would have been the death-knell for the club - you included.
Would we have even been in the situation to debate the wisdom of Stead as first choice striker in the Premiership going into the 4th in a row without Cole's goals in 2001/02 ? Or would we have been debating the possibility of playing against Stead against the newly promoted Huddersfield Town into the league we've just slipped? The *wisdom* of you and your ilk would suggest the latter would have been more likely.
You can't have it all ways. And to try and justify your nonsensical argument with Ashley Ward rather points to desperation or insanity; or both.

I was chatting with a mate of mine who's a Fulham season ticket holder last night and he seems to have mixed feelings about Cole, as do other Fulham supporters. They appreciate when on form he's class, when he's not he's ordinary to say the least.
What was more illuminating is that he tells me that the Cottagers have waved goodbye to over a dozen players since the end of last season, and are down to a first team squad of around 16 players. He also said that "Super Mo" isn't likely to be bankrolling them anywhere near as extensively in the future. The Fulham fans are genuinely concerned for this season.
So if Andrew is looking for an easy ride with this move, he might be in for a shock!

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/t...ham/3902743.stm apparently Fulham are taking his £60,000 wages over. didnt think he was on that much, thought he was on 40,000 at the most. good luck to the boy if he has blagged that much money off us
In the last two weeks, his slary has gone from around £40k, to £45k, to £50k, to £55k and now £60k each time the story is updated in the press.
I wish I had a job that was like that !

There's a photo of the trialist in the Daily this morning. Looks as if Rovers are keeping his identity under raps.
Well that's sorted.
Claude Rains is Tugay's invisble friend!

Is Mystery Man wearing a mask? Could it be Sava of Fulham?
-
But will the new card system allow a lady to use a man's ST card or vice versa, or will the turnstyles have hidden camera's so that this will not be allowed to happen?
Try going to a match in drag and see what happens.
New Manager is Mark Hughes

So I take it you want a manager who is currently out of work?
