  1. Stories like that are everywhere, but so are TV warnings about marijuana and ecstasy and cocaine being the devil, and a huge amount of young people have used one or both and haven't suddenly fallen into an episode of Casualty. The weight that warnings about illegal drugs carry isn't really that great for young people. And if the circumstances of your life mean you reach a point where you're ignorant of the dangers of (some) substances, and then you're told that one you've never tried is a million times better than everything else you've ever experienced in your life put together, it's not hard to imagine giving it a try. Then, when it really does feel that good, you're somewhat screwed when it comes to stopping.

Same as most other addictions. You fall into it without intending to, and then you don't really want to stop.

  2. Oh, right. I didn't think that I'd raised any issue with you disliking their music, merely that, as opposed to your belief that I might have some unwavering desire to force RH down everyone's throats, it does seem to me that some people will have a preformed opinion of a certain band's music as wanky pretentious rubbish before even listening to it. Some people may also show signs of being completely stupid.

But thanks for correcting me, and for pointing out that your previous post somehow indicates a sense of humour. Maybe if I throw a LOL or a few hundred spelling mistakes into each post, I could be as hilarious as you.

  3. Anyone got Rainbow's by Radiohead, you can pay what you think the album's worth.

For some reason they wouldnt except a steaming dog pooh as legal tender.

    Spoil Sports. :)

Fair enough, I know a lot of people don't like the band, but merely hearing music must be dangerous for someone of such low intellect that you barely display a minimal grasp on your first language.

Careful now. Turn the radio on and your head might explode.

  4. Im sorry, but i have no sympathy whatsoever. It is repeatedly stated that for Liverpool and Man u ONLY you need a prior purchase on the database. Everybody knows this, why do people moan ever time one of these 2 games come along. The club are doing the right thing, unless you wanna loada bloody red fans sitting next to you in the bbe  Why is she on the database previously you only have to go to 1 game to get tickets? Why should people get tickets for l'pool if they cant be arse with any other game. Club spot on imo.

What was your first Rovers game? At home to Shrewsbury or something? Purposely pick an unnattractive tie to make sure people knew you were the most dedicated of all fans?

If you were developing an interest in football today and wanted to go to a match at Ewood, would you choose Charlton or Liverpool to sample the delights of the Premiership standard game? But wait, you aren't on the database, you're not in the club, you can't come to that game. Why don't we start you off with something lighter, let's say Newcastle. So we'll have your £25 for that, and now you can have a Liverpool ticket. That'll be another £36.

Obviously in the wake of the City game way back when, it was necessary for the club to react in a way that would clamp down on away supporters infiltrating home areas. But posters here have told of numerous times when genuine attempts to get tickets to big games have been turned down. Or fans not being able to buy more tickets than they usually get. We can't seem to tempt back those fans who have walked away from Ewood, and we're making it harder to get new ones to come to games.

  5. (& thought he should sign out of loyalty if only to ensure we get a decent fee)

Though the whole issue has its own topic, this stuck out as quite a naive thing to say.

Why would he want to sign a legally binding agreement to stay at the club? So that:

    a. Rovers can turn down any transfer offers for him, or

    b. Liverpool (or whoever) refuse to pay a higher fee for him.

Both leaving him stranded in a job he doesn't want anymore.

We could have got a fee for him had we listened to the offer Liverpool made on deadline day; instead we kept what was at the time our only right-back and got some good (and some very average) performances in return. I can't see anything wrong with what he's done so far. Turned down a new contract and asked to leave, yet kept playing when told he couldn't go.

The only things I ever berate the guy for are his silly defensive mistakes.
