  1. I think a read of the thread 'Burnley memories' (or something similar is in order)

Thing is, all the 'good' fans are in the BBE... don't see how moving to the Darwen End will be more atmospheric, apart from being close to the scum :brfc:

....yeah, about 30 in the top corner (N01) make an effort. The rest are like victorian children......seen but not heard <_< the BBE is pretty p1ss poor these days vocal-wise.

  2. why will the rovers fans be season ticket holders, its one of the 4 games ;)

    fair point Waggy ;)

I think Rovers sold about a thousand Darwen End STs. Those people will get chance to buy those seats 1 week before they go on general sale.

It would also be a good selling opportunity for Rovers to market tickets for the Bumley game in another '3 game bundle' or something like that??

    ie.....

    Retards game

    Portsmouth game

    Stoke game

.......all for £45 (or some figure)

  3. having rovers fans and burnley fans in the same end is a recipe for diasaster :o

No it`s not. It will be well policed & stewarded with a larger than normal no-mans land.......& remember EVERY person in the Darwen End will be a season ticket holder from either club or will have been vetted. I`d hazard a guess that CCTV & highly preventative policing will be used to its full extent.

Yes, it will be lively & extremely vocal & 1 or 2 numpties might try it on, but it won`t be a disaster.

They`ve done it for years in Manchester, Glasgow, Sheffield, London etc....

    You`re just scaremongering Waggy

  4. A great loss.

Sir Bobby was one of the few football blokes who could breach the 'tribal' barriers in football.

Everybody seems to have a great fondness for the man.

I remember when he was getting slated by the press during his early time as England boss. I really felt for the guy. You could see the hurt in his eyes. I`m glad he proved them wrong.

RIP Sir Bobby. Football will miss you ;)

  5. I know quite a few 'proper' drummers who`ve played in rock bands & also military bands.

Many have played for years & needed to practice almost every day.

Very few of them complain of arthritis........but then again, they do tend to vary what beats they play <_<

If the drummer puts a claim in for repetative strain injuries......& wins, then half the lower BBE should be able to claim aswell for 'repetative tedium to the ears' ;)

#good luck to the drummer guy in his retirement# ;)

  6. Jeez!! Give the guy a chance ffs!

I`ve never been a fan of Paul Ince (in his playing days) but i`m prepared to give the guy a chance to prove himself.

If we win our 1st game 3-0......some people will go very quiet on here.

You`ve got to give the guy at least a half dozen games to show promise , improvement & tactics.

....& we slated the Newcastle fans last year!!

    get real people!!

  7. "You`d better watch out

    you`d better beware

    he`s great on the floor

& an ace in the air

Santa Cruz is coming to town"

    (to be followed by....)

"Saaaaaanta Cruz is coming to town!!

Saaaaaanta Cruz is coming to town!!

Saaaaaanta Cruz is coming to town!!

Santa Cruz is coming to town!"

    :xmas::xmas::xmas:

  8. I had to laugh when the Bumley link said 'goal' music

I can imagine the tannoy operator ont` Turd (looking like Mrs Overall) rummidging around, looking for the record, blowing the dust off it, winding the gramaphone up & the goal music crackling into life!

(by that time, play would`ve started up again)

  9. for those curious... this was teh song reportedly such by the villans:

What's that sticking out of his sock,

Is it his ankle, is it his ankle

    Eduardo Wwooooo

    He had some silky skills,

Now he walks like heather mills wwooooo wwooooo

he used to run down the left

he used to run down the right

That boy Eduardo will run in circles for life

    I shouldn`t laugh but......

  10. Not exactly on the "BBE drummer" theme......but,

This morning i caught the last 20mins of "The Big Match" on ITV4.

It was a retro look at a program broadcast 25years ago. Everton were playing cup holders Spurs in the FA cup 5th round (Everton won 2-0 with ex-rover Jim Arnold in goal & Howard Kendall the boss)....anyway, that`s not what i`m on about.

The thing what struck me most was the atnosphere in the ground. Packed terracing, swaying & bouncing crowd, loads of chanting, singing, banter between the sets of fans (remember that?)....& most of all, no bl00dy PA system drowning everything out.

It just made me realise what a sterile product football is becoming.

I blame it all on the demise of the terrace :(
