  1. But for the first time ever I don't care, and why...because I do not feel the Club give a toss.

PrestonBlue i feel the same way. sad.gif

Good grief - there's an incredible amount of whining on this thread.

Scotty that`s because some people on this thread can see the club they love changing beyond recognition. We are coming to be seen as [/b]customers not fans........but in this case, the customer is never right & is never listened to. We are just expected to turn up & put up.

    Not anymore my fellow Roverites!

  2. If you saw a shoplifter getting away with stealing would that give you a free reign for you to steal as well?

What the hell has that got to do with it?? dry.gif

safe terracing has been introduced in some german grounds, maybe this could be looked into?? (as has been mentioned several times before)

to answer southaussierovers question on 'infiltration of away fans', then the club could make the terrace a 'members only'or 'season ticket only' area. I`d gladly pay a £10 annual membership fee (on top of a season ticket) to be able to support my team in the way i think it should be supported. tinykit.gif

      QUOTE (CAPT KAYOS @ Oct 21 2004, 10:53 )

I want to enjoy it and rant and rave as and when and not resort to arguing with somebody if they CHOOSE to sit because I am interfering with their line of view or comfort.

Alternatively, I want to enjoy it and rant and rave as and when and not resort to arguing with somebody if they are standing up and interfering with my line of view.

It is selfish attitudes such as yours that are causing the problems.

I pay what I consider alot of money to sit down and watch a football match and I do not want someone in front of me blocking my vision.

The rules are that you must sit down. If you don't like it, stay at home.

Jim......again i`m sorry but i cannot agree with you. BRFC do not have a famous 'kop' or 'Stretford end'....but we have our own Blackburn End this is the traditional end for the hardcore roverites who sing, chant, bounce up & down & generally get the atnosphere going in the ground.

Remember "you are my sunshine"??"the east side!...the west side!"??

It has always been a bit noisy, a bit rowdy, a bit wey!!, a bit wo!! wink.gif

If you buy a ticket in the Blackburn End, you should expect a bit of standing & the odd rude word.

Have you not thought you may be sitting in the wrong part of the ground?

Standing up at football matches is another form of anti-social behaviour in my view.

The club has to take firm action to deal with this growing problem. The only way as I see it is to adopt a "zero tolerance" approach.

All those "supporters" - home and away - who persist in standing up, to the detriment of law-abiding fans who are happy to watch the match sitting down, should be thrown out of the ground and banned from the ground.

These are the same morons who continue to defy smoking bans on trains and in restaurants, the same cretins who litter the streets instead of putting their rubbish in a bin or take it home, the same imbeciles who endanger other people's lives by breaking the speed limit on the roads.

They should not be allowed to attend football matches until they have learnt how to behave properly.

I`m sorry Jim, but i totally dissagree with you.

    "It`s the law"...maybe, but it`s a stupid law.

Football used to be the peoples game. Now it`s overpriced, with overpaid players who have little in common with the fans & now any last remnants of fans passion & support is being slowly squeezed out. mad.gif

...why don`t the club try playing "Sit down if you hate Man U" continually over the tannoy at the Liverpool game. It just might work!! laugh.gif

  5. I`ve seen alot of other clubs fans having various types of protests,

I`ve seen a mass sit down by West Ham Fans at Ewood (during terrace days)

West ham fans (again) have 'bonds' protests,

    Fans 'red carding' their chairmen,

fans turning their backs on their teams (en mass)

....Is it time Blackburn Rovers fans started to show their feelings by having an organised protest....to show the club how they feel they are being badly treated & unappreciated??

  6. I went down to the U21 match at Ewood with about 9 mates.

Six of them buggered off at half time cos they weren`t selling ale. They watched the 2nd half from the bar in the Ewood Arms.

The nazis....sorry stewards spoiled a half decent night, by confiscating a ball that was being bounced around the crowd in the Blackburn end (sharp corners them balls)The steward rightly got booed!! wink.gif

A husband & wife got frog marched out of the Blackburn end because the woman had a Welsh flag around her shoulders (probably a rovers fan with welsh background)

& 10mins before the end of the game, some kids started a fun conga at the front of the BBE. The Stazi quickly put a stop to that!

...Needless to say, those kids will come flocking back to Ewood in the future!!....NOT!!

All in all, a good natured Friday night of international football was spoiled by a bunch of powercrazed stewards hellbent on spoiling all joviality amongst a sparse crowd.

    T0SSERS!!! mad.gif

  7. The 'old' Darwen end was a great end! thumbs-up.gif

It was nice & noisy, due to the roof & always had a good atnosphere in it.

(i am talking about when Rovers fans occupied it in the late 80s/ Steve Archibald?Don mackay era) thumbs-up.gif

I remember those days with great fondness. rolleyes.gif

  8. I like the Notts Forest idea of giving every 7yr old a shirt (as there`s 2 clubs in Nottingham) Grab them whilst they`re young!! (but not in a Michael Jackson type way!! unsure.gif )

Why don`t Rovers consider doing something along those lines?

e.g....On every child`s 7th birthday, they get a shirt & free ticket to a game.

That could mean a hundred or more kids per game (probably more!)

Their parents/families could be offered tickets at a discounted rate. (the more tickets, the cheaper)

They could be given a tour of the stadium & even select some of them to be mascots on the day.....even a 'parade' around the pitch at half time or something (in their new rovers shirts! tinykit.gif)

(think of it from a kids point of view....they`d feel 'special' on their birthday....hopefully become Rovers fans! thumbs-up.gif )

...then think of it from a clubs point of view.....they`d be tapping into new fans, attracting families from all ethnic backgrounds & putting bums on seats!

I know dishing out shirts may prove expensive, but 'family tickets' may help to offset the initial costs.......& you have to think of long-term investment in BRFC.

    That`s what Forest are doing.

  9. one other point regarding the cup comps under souness.

It only takes a fool to believe half of what souness said to the press. If you ever believed that he went into a game not wanting to win it - then you need your head reading.

Yeah, ok.....but it doesn`t exactly get the fans thinking of cup glory & waverers thinking "I`m going to buy a ticket for that cup game, cos it sounds like a great tie & we`ve a good chance of getting to the final!"

Instead of...."I`m not paying X amount of pounds to watch the reserves play in a game even the boss isn`t interested in"

    ....think about it???????? wink.gif

  10. I know that the club has the interests of all sections of the community at heart.

No.....the club has the interests of all sections of the communities money!! They couldn`t give a flying toss about anybody really....just their £££ wink.gif

...As for "Why don`t asians come to Ewood?" It`s simple.....they all support Man Utd....innit! dry.gif
