  1. I`ve been going to Ewood now for nigh on 25yrs.

In recent years, i`ve not been going as often as i would`ve liked (due to financial restraints sad.gif )

I tend to pick & choose my games these days.

I personally believe BRFC don`t do enough to attract new fans & win back lost fans.

Also, lot`s of little things niggle me about the club....e.g

1...double standard stewarding. Away fans can stand up, we have to sit down. Either we can all stand up or all sit down.Make your mind up!! mad.gif

2...Making people take down banners etc...(as was mentioned last week on this board)

    3...selling our top players (Dunn,Duff,Cole)

    4...Ticket prices.

5...Lack of club ambition in cups.(progress in cups can give a 'feel good factor' in a club/town)

    ....i could go on.

All in all, most of these things are trivial on their own, but put together can make going to watch Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park a less than exciting prospect. Sometimes i look in my wallet & think to myself "Hmmm £25....i could go to the Rovers or have a night at the local with my mates & get a kebab on the way home.......which one??"

At one time, there would`ve been no competition.

    wink.gif

  2. Whilst delving into my mate`s record collection,

i came across an old 7inch single by a group called FRENZY

the song was called 'Blackburn Rovers' or something like that.

I remember it used to be played over the tannoy system at Ewood during the early 80s.

I told my mate it might be a collectable (to someone)

...so he asked me to find out.

Does anybody know owt about it??

He may be willing to part with it.

  3. ...like i said on the previous page <.

Blackburn Rovers have a team of professional backroom staff who see & train the squad every day. These guys have many years of experience with players both old & young. For some reason Matt Jansen is not impressing the coaches of the squad enough to warrant a place in the starting 11.

Hopefully (and we ALL pray) Matt Jansen will recover his form & come good, but we (the fans) have got to respect the views of the coaching staff at this club.

....Remember, for every player who makes it, there`s loads who don`t....& it`s these guys who have to make ruthless decisions for the good of the club. If Matty is not up to scratch, then they`ll tell him so & let him leave.

In my view, they are giving the lad a fair crack of the whip.

Maybe he`ll get his chance this year....but he simply has to warrant his place in the team not through sympathy but by impressing in training.

GOOD LUCK MATTY...WE`RE ALL ROUTING FOR YOU!! thumbs-up.gifthumbs-up.gifthumbs-up.gif

  4. I think all of us would love to see Jansen make a come-back.

I bet Souness & BRFC as a club would love to see it even more. It would also save the club millions in transfer fees.

It`s easy to say "Souness isn`t giving him a run in the team" or "Souness needs to give him games".....but it isn`t just Souness involved. He has a backroom staff of proffessional trainers & medical people who see Matty every day. If they don`t feel he is 'up to it' then you have to respect their proffessional view.

I hope Matt Jansen makes a full recovery & we get to see the player of old, because his talent is a joy to watch, but please don`t use this as a stick to beat GS with.

    GOOD LUCK MATTY! thumbs-up.gif

  5. for me.....

    1...Simon Garner.......the man, the myth, the legend.....the cigarettes! thumbs-up.gif

2...David Speedie......only at the club a year, but will always be held in the highest regards. Remember his header against Newcastle & his taunts at the geordies? thumbs-up.gif

3...Colin 'Braveheart' Hendry.........2 fantastic spells at the club & always gave his all thumbs-up.gif

  6. I know i'm repeating myself and for that I apologise but I would ask you once again if success on the field will get the fans on then how do you explain finishing 6th and 2000 not renewing

.....It`s all a matter of finances. Each year i consider buying a season ticket, i also have other things i need to do in life...i.e...i need to buy two new double glazed windows for my house, i could do with a new suite in my lounge, i may want to go on holiday & i am thinking of putting an extension on my house. Each year i list my 'things to do' in order of priority.

If i think i can afford a season ticket, then i will buy one.

I`m sure other people have similar things to consider. Football can be a very expensive passtime.

  7. LOL!!

when the doorbell rang on fantasy football & Frank Skinner opened the door......"Look! it`s Simon garner!" he said

    Absolute silence from the audience........

laugh.gif they were either gobsmacked it was actually him or they didn`t know who the hell he was!! LOL!! laugh.gif

....i think it may have been the 2nd option.

    THERE`S ONLY ONE SIMON GARNER!!

    ROVERS LEGEND!!

  8. Can anybody help me with a season ticket question?

I`m thinking of buying an adult & a junior ticket sat together (obviously).

Sometimes the junior i take cannot go for one reason or another.

Will the club let another adult use the junior seat if we pay the difference??

This is a major factor in whether i buy 2 season tickets or just go on a casual basis.

    unsure.gif

  9. Alex ferguson....(to the same tune as 'you`re so s##t it`s unbelievable')

"Fer-gu-son`s got a big red alky nose!" (clap clap clap etc...)

    ................................................................................................

Phil Thompson....(To the tune of 'Auld lang syne')

"sit down big nose, sit down big nose, sit down big nose sit down...etc..."

    ................................................................................................

    any more? thumbs-up.gif

I think Gazza would be an excellent choice of new manager, as Burn-a-leh seem to have a tradition of having alcoholic managers.

Given the topic Cletus I think it's high time you changed your signature

I have grown rather fond of my signature & i am reluctant to do away with it.

I shall wait to see who fat Stan`s successor is & then decide if his name will fit into my little ditty. wink.gif
