  1. Riding motorbikes or mopeds are 100% excluded in a footballers contract as they are in any other sportperson's contract.

Riding a moped responsibly is what most poeple do, but it does not account for the other road users who are generally irresponsible to downright suicidal in Rome.

It's not been known as the most dangerous city in Europe for decades without reason............sadly Matty missed that programme

  2. Wow that is impressive! Even if we got out tickets on sale early we wouldn't have demand like that.

I can only guess it shows the difference in the attitude of the Canaries' fans compared to Rovers' fans. I think Rovers' fans, on the whole, still expect too much from a season, whereas for Norwich, just getting back into the Premiership was the most they would expect to achieve.

Depends on the price.........if pre-booked tickets were froze then the demand would be good.

  3. No, they failed to do their jobs. Other teams find the men they need.

    Why not Rovers.

You are an argumentative soul aren't you. Not many posts yet but every one I've seen seems to be trying to provoke an argument.

Anyway several of us have risen to the bait so you must be good at it.

Other teams had more money or else signed dross.

And yes, i do like arguments, even playing devils advocate. I like structured agruments, not just, i am right, you are wrong (although I am right and uou are wrong wink.gif :-) ). i love a good debate. i am not a sheep who will just accept whatever I am told and never accept anything at face value.

So what srikers should we have bought/loaned then oh great one, since I am sure ou feel you could do a better job than the board.

Streakyb - if you continue with this kind of approach, to members who have been around this board for much longer than yourself, and are well respected members - you will find yourself getting a lot of grief from people such as the moderators.

Though Fergie's departure is a blow threatening members who are purely expressing their opinion should not be swept under the carpet through censorship

    Bye Bye Bazza............£2m wasted

  4. I for one am not really bothered if Fergie wants to leave. Players with hsi amount of skill (not that much) are 10 a penny.

He was neither a ball winner, a box to box player, or a creative midfielder........for £6.5m he was a waste of money

And do we really want a player with the ambition of a dung beatle in our team?

    Bye Bye Mr Annonymous

  5. Wendy Howard on Radio Lancs has just reported that the MGP deal is OFF!

Just actually heard it and all they said was

"Blackburn have 'apparently' ended their interest in MGP after their initial bid was turned down"

Basically they have read the report of the bid being knocked back (becasue of the payment structure) and put 2 and 2 together and come up with 756 dry.gif

    Radio Lancs.......pile of donkey......

  6. Who is the trialist who scored two goals?

    Dont quote me.................El Hamdaoui wink.gif

    Todays LET says

    On Andrew Wesh

"We're not taking him to Germany with us, but we'll be having another look at him during pre-season. " - Souness

    and

    on El Hamdaoui

'Rovers have, however, shot down reports that Dutch striker Mounir el Hamdaoui is set for an Ewood trial.'

    The plot thickens rover.gif

  7. Both clubs then agreed on the basis of a deal and now all that remains is for Cole to sort out personal terms with the Cottagers today.  - LET

the above was the most worrying thing for me. assuming that it's a free transfer as stated in the same article, the above can only mean one thing. - we will pay part of cole's wages at fulham. either that or a swap for mcbride.

personally, i'm gutted. cole looks like he's able to command about a 1m transfer fee at least, and in this case, we're paying him to go. bad bad business, all because of souness' huge ego.

we better have a decent replacement lined up. if it's dickov, there's only one way we're going. down.

Cheers for that rational ending to your post vyeo withstupid.gif

  8. Do you mean the time we came 6th and he got a paultry 7 goals?

He has cost us over £20m in wages, signing on fees and transfers and propbably numerous lost sponsorship deals.

That arguement is about as lame and spurious as the 'Emerton is great becasue he has got 40000000000 assists'

  9. When Garner left Rovers he went to West Bromwich Albion, who coincidentally are supported by one Frank Skinner, hence why he was probably on ths show .Garner scored for WBA against Burnley in one game but the story of him lifting his striped Albion shirt in front of the Burnley fans to reveal a blue and white halved Rovers top underneath is unfortunately just a myth, as he revealed in his autobiography 'There's only one Simon Garner'.

I've seen the show a number of times and none of the older players seemed to have receieved much of a reception, which shows the ignorance of some of the audience who watch the show. Even if they haven't heard of them they could at least have the good manners to give them a welcome. They seem to think chanting 'Statto' and 'Rooney' every single programme is funny. Just like the show, the chants are getting tired and boring, getting well past their used-by-date.

Despite a few good jokes, this series has not been fit to compare with how it was when it first came out on BBC2 when it was the funniest show around and a breath of fresh air. Baddiel is however still as funny as he ever was. Never was funny though that Baddiel....

Agreed I have probably only watched it twice and find myself thinking around 11pm "Oh I've missed it again......hey ho! who cares?"

It's very jaded and rather dull, the only highlight is still the Phoenix from the Flames sketch........however I want the Mark Atkins own goal/Ball Girl/Jimmy Hill incident recreated biggrin.gif
