  1. I think that we will play a 4-5-1 formation against Bolton with this starting lineup due to Dickovs suspension:

    Friedel

    Neill, Todd, Mokoena, Johansson

    Emerton, Savage, Ferguson, Pedersen

    Thompson

Bothroyd/Stead/Gallacher/Jansen (not sure who will get

to start of the strikers but I think Stead and Bothroyd has the most chance because of their aeral presence.)

    wATch this space !!

  2. I'll always remember Lee Carsley warming up on the touchline at Ewood Park when he was a Rover - it was looking increasingly likely that we would miss out on promotion and he revealed in the press that he wanted to play in the Premier League amid Everton's interest. When Carsley rose from the bench to warm up ready to come on, the Blackburn End started a rendition of 'Fck off Carsley, fck off Carsley'!!! I was sat in the Jack Walker Stand that day and even those old fuddy duddys around me started joining in!! Needless to say, Souness signalled to Lee to retain his seat on the bench and that, as they say, was that. He transferred to Goodison a few days later.

Just wonder if Barry will get the same sort of reception on Monday against the Wankies?

I think he'll be playing at Rangers at that stage!

  3. I said it before and I say it again....Dickov is overrated and Stead and Gally are to unmature for premiership.

Dickov may have scored against Bolton but thats against a lowly side. He miss to much chances in the games. Cole would have put them away. Look he scored 2 goals for Fulham today.

Sorry but we must get into the market this week and buy new strikers. We'll get £1m from the Beattie sale.

Savage is not a necessary to buy, he was poor today against Newcastle. We got Mokoena as a great midfelder besides Ferguson and give Morten Pedersen a chance... He can't be so bad as Reid was today??

Come on Hughes, do some wise things.

  4. Hi all...looking forward for tomorrows game against Bolton. Here's my starting eleven:

    Friedel

    Neill

    Todd

    Johansson or Amoruso if fit

Gray (not matteo, shame that Spector isn't ready until 1st january i'd pick him)

    Emerton

    Thompson

    Ferguson

Pedersen (Reid is injured and we need to try something new, give the lad a chance)

Stead (looked lively, just need to score, if he fails after 60mins put on Gally)

    Dickov

    Subs:

    Matteo or McEvely

    Gallacher

    Flitcroft

Jemal Johnson (former Man UTD lad)

    Enckelman

looking forward for the signings of Mokoena and probably Hartson.

    what do you say?

  5. I would play like this against Everton on saturday:

    Friedel

    Neill, Todd, Johansson, Gray

    Emerton, Reid/Douglas, Ferguson, Pedersen

    Stead, Gallacher/Bothroyd

    Bench:

Dickov (too small and miss sitters)

    the other two

    Enckelman

why not Sergio Peter or Jemal Johnson.

    Out of bench:

Matteo (still crap when he comes up against a good side, palace were poor)

    Jansen (still injured)

  6. 27 year old New Zeeland captain Ryan Nelson who currently plays for DC United in the MSL is set to sign for rovers afte impressing in trials at the club.

    also:

    Mokoena close to Blackburn move

    Tue, 14 Dec 2004

Bafana Bafana defender Aaron Mokoena's proposed move to English Premiership side Blackburn Rovers looks set to go ahead.

The South African national team captain had trials with Rovers last week and it has been reported that the club were impressed with him and are keen to sign the player.

The two clubs are currently in advanced talks over a £600 000 deal for the classy central defender.

Mokoena is currently playing in Belgium for Racing Genk, after having moved from another Belgium club, Germinal Beerschot.

The 24-year old has also been on the books of Jomo Cosmos, Bayer Leverkusen and Ajax Amsterdam.

  7. Hey

Why the fu** is Matteo and Flitcroft playing???

And where is Gray and Pedersen??? What is Hughes doing.... if we loose today we can surely criticise his coaching!!!

Matteo is crap.......so crap crap crap..

And Short is getting too slow and old now.

We should have started with this side:

    Friedel

    Neill, Todd, Nils-Eric, Gray

    Emerton, Ferguson, Pedersen, Reid

    Stead or Gally, Bothroyd

Dickov is annoying me at the moment....he miss sitters...

Thompson isn't match fit enough but good to throw on in the last 20 min.

Thanks for listening....hope Im wrong today about the team and that the players getting their chance shines.

  8. looks like we won't get any players with souness as he is regarded to be hard to work with, took this from a fulham website:

'Many believe that he has something to prove after not having the best of times at Blackburn over the past couple of years. Graeme Souness has a reputation of being a nightmare to work with and most football fans recognise the fact that he is a complete and utter tit. He last week directed a parting shot at Andy, labelling him a "baby" over the way he has behaved recently at Rovers. I find this an astonishing case of pot and kettle. When has Souness ever taken responsibility for a poor Blackburn result? It's never his fault and this is why I cant ever take him seriously, none more so than on this occasion. Speaking of his time at Ewood Park Cole said: "I had a difficult two years at Blackburn but as a result of that I've got a lot of desire.

  9. From an interview with Andy Cole on Fulham official website:

SO THERE'S STILL PLENTY IN THE TANK?

Absolutely. I'm 32 but there's a lot of fire in my stomach. I had a difficult two years at Blackburn but as a result of that I've got a lot of desire. It's when that desire burns out that I've got to call it quits, but that's a long way off. I'm still loving my football and I still want to score goals.

Bullocks.... he didn't have the desire when he played for us....good he got rid.

  10. Thompson ----->  Djorkaeff (Two trickery players well worth watching, but Djorkaeff is getting old)

De Pedro ------> Okocha (two players whom like to challenge players and shoot)

Stead ------> Davies (Stead's got more pace, better shot and is better in many aspects)

Gallacher ----> Bridges or Ferdinand (Well you've all seen Gallys enthusiasm in the game and his pace and shooting skills, Ferdy is singing on his last swansong and Bridges is off the hill totally)

When you look at the bench they look weak comparing to us so if they get injuries they'll face big problemas.

    What do you think?

I think youre putting so much effort into trying to make sensible points all you are managing to do is create humour.

For one thing Djorkaeff has left Bolton, but I'm pleased DePedro likes to challenge players and shoot !

Well Djorkaeff hasn't left according to their official website...

  11. Well things don't always go like that do they look at where Bolton finished. It can depend on a lot of things.

Yes but according to Souness we now have a great team spirit and probably Bolton had that last year and a bit of lady luck in some games but if we can have the same spirit and luck we may well end the season on a high. I've got great feelings about it! We now have a whole team to replace the first team, 2 staring elevens who seems to be good and with one or two extensions now when Cole, Yorke and Todd has left we may be a force this season.
