Andy Cole signs for Fulham Football Club...

Fulham Football Club has today announced the signing of former England International Striker Andy Cole from Blackburn on a two year deal for an undisclosed fee.

The 32 year old striker has impeccable football credentials both at domestic and international levels. He began his career at Arsenal as a schoolboy graduating from the Lilleshall Centre of Excellence. After a brief spell with Fulham in 1991/92 he went on to play for Bristol City, Newcastle United and latterly Manchester United, where as a record signing he scored 121 goals in 231 appearances.

Cole joined Blackburn Rovers in December 2001 and scored the winning goal in the 2002 Worthington Cup final against Tottenham Hotspur in Cardiff. He is a truly prolific striker and is the second highest goal scorer in Premiership history.

    Manager Chris Coleman commented:

'I am delighted to welcome Andy to Fulham, his experience and proven goal-scoring ability were key factors in my decision to add him to the squad. I know he will be one hundred percent committed every time he pulls on the Fulham shirt, and I am sure that his knowledge and understanding of the game will benefit the less experienced players around him.'

  2. Hadn't it occured to anyone that there might be reasons why the club wants this kept quiet, and that as supporters we might consider going along with that? sad.gif

I to was thinking along those lines but the fact that it is reported in the sunday people blows that idea out the water.

If the SP says that it was this Volpato guy and the match reports say he's black then we still have some doubt, not sure which is more likely. Problem is that its bound to come out sooner or later, but there's no reason why this mb has to hasten the process and potentially bu**er-up a promising signing for the club.

where does it say that it was a coloured player???

  3. Where's the money from sponsors, season tickets, TV etc????

Let Todd leave on for the supposed £250.000 and get Matteo in so

we can plan our new season. Get rid of Donkey Yorke and Buy Morten Gamst Pedersen.

    Then we'll be fine

    Our team

    Friedel

    Neill, Matteo, Amoruso, Gray/Gresko

    Emerton, Ferguson, Pedersen

    Thompson

    Stead Cole/Dickov/Gally

We still then have: Short, Flitcroft, Tugay, Johansson, Douglas, Jansen, Danns, Fitzgerald, Enckelman, Reid and McEvely

    Quite good team

  4. Well done Blackburn Rovers and John Williams, he will be an asset for the club.

He'll replace Dwight Yorke who will leave.

Because he's only cost us around £200.000 I feel he's a bargain and worth a chance and we still got some money to spend. Leicester seems very dissapointed to lose him out.

Middlesbrough, Portsmouth, Fulham and Birmingham were all after him but he choosed us ahead of them.

31 yeard old who can have 2 good years with us probably and fight it out with Cole, Gally and Janny for a starting place. Stead will probably be first choice.

Just don't let him shoot the penalties. lol cool.gif

  5. Neophox that post was rubbish the first time you posted it, it's not going to look good no matter how many times you do it.

Thommo and Ferguson? I believe crutches are against FA regulations.

what I meant is that its our best team when everyone's fit!

    Sorry.

  6. mad.gif

We were crap today as we have been all season.

I can't believe that the board react on this, sack Souness now!

There are plenty of good managers in Division One.

Look at Nigel Worthington at Norwich or why not bring in MARK HUGHES as a manager, he has the right fighting spirit!!!! He can also learn the strikers to shoot.... when he was 37 and played for us he played better than anyone of our strikers is doing now.

    The players worth keeping is:

Friedel, Fergy, Emerton, Gray, Thompson, Babbel, Stead.

The players have not performed really but should get another chance to stay:

Gresko (where's he, he can score, should be on the left)??,

    Gallacher (indifferent form)

    Neill (indifferent form)

Nissa (does all he can when he plays)

    Amoruso (why isn't he playing??)

    Jansen (keep faith)

Cole (can be a an old Les Ferdinand or Sheringham, wast experience)

    ###### (donkeys) totally waste:

    Andy Todd (stupid donkey)

    Craig Short (too slow)

    Yorke (lazy overpaid looser)

Flitcroft (time to go now flitty)

Tugay (time to retire and be a manager or something)

    Andresen (rubbish)

Reid (what a waste, not near to Duff)

These players are donkeys and we should get rid of.

    I should play this team:

    Friedel

    Neill, Babbel, Amoruso/Nissa, Gray/Gresko

    Emerton, Ferguson, Thompson, Gresko/Gray

    Stead, Cole/Gallacher

    A very creative team!

    Agree?
