Anything like that should be clearly written into the contract. Ie. If we only get the money in 6 instalments for example - he only gets the bonus in 6 instalments. Unfortunately, I've also no faith in the people writing our contracts.

Gutted that Wharton is going and no doubt we won't spend much of the money....but it won't harm us in the short term. We win more games when he doesn't play as he's still not great defensively.

Only just over 200 career appearances and played his last game at 28 - retiring aged 29 after 'falling out of love' with football.

He should be the poster boy of players who thought the grass was greener on the other side after leaving Rovers. Ash Phillips take note.

Absolutely superb player in his peak with us. Some of the goals in that compilation are absolutely outstanding.
