    Rover Chants

meh...I'm just getting a little tired of the anti-Souey brigade, picking at EVERY single little thing he does and spinning it into something he did wrongly....Didn't mean to shat on you, just getting disappointed that there are so many Souey detractors on here...

you never tire of asking for Souey's head do you?

    Rover Chants

I've a Scouse friend (no he hasn't nicked anything off me...yet) who loves to regale me with chants they roll out when Rovers go to Goodison. For example: Heeeeeey Gary Does yer wife know yer 'eeeeeeeeeere Now while I find it mildly amusing, I have no idea what chants we roll out on visiting teams/players and the like. If anyone has a few they could jot down, primarily ones aimed at Everton or their players, that'd be great.
  4. Lets just hope that whatever club bids for him realizes his talent and not his ego and bids accordingly. Souey could use every extra pound he can squeeze out of Todd. I'm sure we all had high hopes for the youngster, but now we all have hopes of an inflated transfer fee...funny how a few months can change a perspective of an entire group of supporters
  5. After the McBride debacle I kind of grew a bit despondent and in the few days I didn't check the internet for footie news, we had suddenly signed this young chap from Huddersfield. I chalked it up to a scouted youth being snatched up as the contingency option after McBride went to Fulham. But posts on here seem to intimate that Souey had a look at the boy's resume (CV?) and signed him. I'd hope he at least had a pub mate's word that Stead could do some good, but who knows...Desperation very definitely played a large role in Stead's signing, whether scouted or not
  6. Believe me..nobody (besides maybe ColeJ and American) would have wanted McBride on Rovers more than myself...but given Stead's performance and chemistry with the team, I'm glad he's a Rover and not McBride...if I had to choose between the two, it'd be Stead again and again...Plus Stead's got a few more years left in him than Brian
  7. Not saying McBride would've done as well as Stead or as well as last year's campaign with Everton, but he DID score 6 in 9 or so Premiership appearances with the Toffees las season, so he does have it in him. I don't wanna incite a Stead is WAY better than McBride riot, but I'm just saying Big Bri isn't a useless bugger....
  8. For me Smith isn't being loyal. He's jumping ship. Sure he's gutted they've gone down, but a TRUE fan would stay and help him team back up- sod the international career. If you were a Rovers fan playing for the team and got relegated would you stay or go? I'd stay, and I'd be surprised if most fans wouldn't agree with me. There is no loyalty in football anymore- only the supporters. Thats what I've said (and have been called strange for it), but the fact remains that even if he said he'd stay, Leeds would still have to sell him. Especially with the announcement that Milner is staying, there are only a few more players worth anything to sell off. Harte will command 500k because of his poor performances as of late, Duberry 1 million, Radebe may just stay, leaving Smith and Viduka to get Leeds outta the financial hole. And personally I haven't heard Viduka's name with any great amount of money (which is justified). So Smith really is the only commodity left to sell. The lad is a punk, but he does have skill and has been put in an unfortunate situation. on a side note, Smith could've spun the situation and said he wanted to stay and let the task of putting his name out for transfer become the organization's dubious responsibility. Thus endearing him to the fans and essentially "washing his hands" of the whole affair by playing the victim. But I guess Alan was too interested in speculating where the greener pastures are going to be for him.
  9. Alright. I see this is going nowhere and I'm sorry I stated my opinion about Alan, because it seems that the poor lad (as well as some of the board members) is having a tough time with this whole relegation thing. If he stayed with them for one more year to try and get 'em back into the Premiership, I'd eat my words and gain some respect for him, but he won't. So until then, get off it and let Smith eat some humble pie.
  10. No offence mate but if you had ever gone through a relegation yourself you would realize what a depressing and debilitating process it is. I wouldn't wish it on any club and i certainly wouldn't act so cavalier about Leeds relegation just because you may have some half-arsed grudge against the club. Don't forget it wasn't that long ago that Rovers were relegated. Yeah I remember our relegation not too long ago and it was gutting. And to say my grudge is half-arsed is probably true. Aside from Smith's petulance and Viduka's half-assed commitment, I don't have much against 'em. But to think I'm laughing at the team as a whole isn't correct...Just at Smith. But relegation is part of the game and while it may be an unfortunate side-product of a season's worth of crappy play, it happens. So please get over yourselves if you think I have no sympathy for Leeds fans, because I do. Its Alan Smith who I don't have any sympathy for, mainly because he'll be making his money and in the Premiership next season, so why should I feel sorry for him? Now if he knew he was going to be in the First Division all year next year. I'd feel for him. But that isn't going to happen, now is it?
  11. A typical newbie comment. Sorry Todd, I didn't mean to insult your girlfriend Alan Smith. But really, the guy plays a GAME for a living and he cries because he's getting relegated? Yes relegation must be a gutting feeling, but its not like his playing career is over with. At any rate, if he'd have given his all throughout the season, maybe he wouldn't be in this position...I doubt it, but you never know...
  12. Poor Alan Smith. Now he can throw a bottle or two into the stands for a different team. He's a spoiled player with hardly any professionalism in him. The fact that he cried at full time at the game doesn't touch any heart strings with me. I feel more for Wolves and Leicester going down than for Leeds. But that being said, Let the rape and pillage of the Leeds squad begin!
