I said at the start of the season we would come in around 12th, if we are higher than that I'll be pleased.

My view based on today and what I have seen so far is:

1.  We are massively punching given the players and experience we have.

2.  We had an average transfer window not good like many seem to think.  Hyam, Brittain, Morton = ticks in the boxes, although Brittain Amber to green.  Smodic, Hirst, Mola all have lots to prove and so far we have to say not good enough to impact the team.

3.  We desperately need / needed a striker who has strength and pace and CM who can put his foot on the ball.  Experienced championship level players not L1 players.

4.  The only formation that has worked for us in the last two seasons is with 3 x CB's.. if that's the case we need proper back ups for Pickering and Brittain not makeshift players, the wing backs are key roles with 3 x CB at the back.

I have yet to see any other formation work for us.

5.  Often we have been over run in CM, JDT needs to have 3 x CM's if that's the case, because it never gets to the attackers so pointless having the 4 may as well have 3...

6.  The biggest concern I have is we seem to have a soft under belly.. I have yet to see warrior come backs or even attempts under JDT and I can't help feeling this is a reflection of our manager.

I'm hoping we turn the corner but honestly expecting anything other than a mid table final standing with the players we have lost and what we have seen so far is just asking for trouble..

Not convinced about changing the back 4 / 5.... thats the one thing that should be a constant in my opinion.. at least pre game

Think Smodic had a touch of Bellamy about him for about 20 seconds today.. hoping he can show more of this! 

I'm really hoping to see more of Markanday.. not sure why he hasn't been given more of a chance.. has the one thing we haven't seen much of so far this season.. pace 

Also did well in the few carabao games also 

I think Greggs communication so far has been some of the best pieces of communication in thr last 10yrs, if not longer.

He come across as enthusiastic, clear, articulates a plan and also quite honest with where we are and the future opportunities.

I really enjoyed his interviews and can't fault him for what he said so far, it's going to take time, apart from Guardiola types, no one is guaranteed success, so just like in all our jobs (where we are not perfect) we should back a good horse until it becomes a bad one (worse than the par for the course).

Think we should still replace Diaz with Dembele 

We needed Dembele we bought Hirst.. until we buy some proven Championship winners we are always gonna be hit and miss

Really happy with JDT and this phase, I'm hoping he remains with us for many years and takes us up..

But.. got to say I really like Gareth Ainsworth, just watching him on ssn and he comes across really really well!

Great news, saves us £5m in the market in my view... potentially could be £10-15m upwards if he carries on 

Before the season started I suggested we would be about 12th for the season, nothing I have seen has changed that view.. given the amount of upheaval and change, this season is about transition.. 

Given our transfer spend, realistic 3yr plan would look like.. Yr1.. 12-16 Yr 2.. close to the play offs..Yr 3.. play offs..

Maybe even optimistic more than realistic
