So interesting reading this thread and arguments over who’s most at fault. Here’s my thoughts:

I think this club can be successful whilst Venkys own us. I’d rather they didn’t own us, I’d celebrate them selling us, but realistically if they just shut up, sent us money and kept their noses out we could still find success.

I think Gregg Broughton is doing a pretty decent job considering the parameters he has to work within, which have essentially been almost-impossible.

For me, the biggest problem at Rovers is Steve Waggott. He’s out of touch, ambitionless and happy to accept mediocrity. But the biggest problem is he’s a short term thinker. The shambles that Venkys have created is going to take a medium/long term plan to turn around and every single decision I’ve seen Waggott make is kicking the can down the road. Waggott’s age and “I’ll retire if the owners ask me” attitude mean by default he isn’t the man for the job because he hasn’t got the longevity to oversee it.

Ewood is falling down, we need a CEO that demands investment from the owners outside of FFP.

The match day experience is dreadful, we need a CEO that understands the modern day fan.

The ticket pricing is robbery, we need a CEO that understands the local area.

The team is desperately underfunded, we need a CEO that can generate more income for FFP and once that is generated, demand an increase of money from the owners.

The training ground is not ours, we need a CEO that can use our money to buy it back as cheap as possible - use the Wharton money if you have to.

The standards around the club are ‘think small’, we need a CEO that can bring back Jack Walkers mantra of “Think Big”.

I agree with all that but ultimately that all comes from the 🔝

Its interesting to note, that a number of our 'celebrity fans' didn't want to get involved in the mud slinging back in the early days of this lots reign. I know several attempts were made to try and bring more publicity to our plight and many celebs ran a mile.

I mean am not sure Roy cropper and dianna vickers would of made much difference 😂

  3. That’s just it it’s an ideology as tomphil says. There is no concrete plan and no one is working in unison. It reminds me of when I tell my wife how I’m going to get a six pack for summer then order an Indian and have 8 cans of Stella four hours later

  4. I’d love to see a nice new waistcoat in the theatre of merchandise next season . If it’s choice between Southgate and ten hag then all football fans up and down the county will back that , just not the red rats round London and stretford. The gap between Arsenal, city and Liverpool will grow even larger making it hard to even qualify for the champions league and the likes of spurs, Newcastle and villa really could get past them for good . I’d love nothing more than either of them to stay or get the job 😁

I don't know why but I have a funny feeling we sneak a win in this one, and that we'll draw if we don't.

I can't really give a logical reason, it really is just a gut feeling (and I'm rarely one for excess optimism, I prefer balance and logic). Closest I can come to rationale is we have some important players back and fresher legs after the break, 2 full weeks for Eustace to finally implement whatever his preferred approach is (no, I don't rate him yet, but still), we are overdue a win and we've yet to lose against the stronger sides we've faced under Eustace. Maybe it suits his game better.

No, it's not enough to predict a win or draw against a side having a much better season and run of form than us. No, I won't be at all surprised if it's a meek 2-0 defeat instead. But nonetheless, it's what my gut thinks is gonna happen.

Weirdly feel the same . Gut feeling with no rational says win or draw and I’m usually quite pessimistic 😂

I'm not sure if it's still the same but a few years back if you wanted a season ticket you had to agree to buy cup games tickets even if you couldn't attend.

It is the same . Same at united aswell. Probably all the in demand clubs run a similar policy. Absolutely stinks

We are desperate…there is no question.

The blame clearly lies with our owners who through negligence and indifference have brought this club to its knees.

It also lies with a “ board” who have been mute throughout this terrible decline ..their silence is abhorrent.

It lies with men like Waggott and Broughton …totally out of their depth yet they continue to steal a wage …

It lies with the coaching staff who offer no tactical awareness, no motivation ..no idea…but we must remember they are “ coaching “ raw kids, injured journeymen who are not fit for purpose, a striker without guts, a goalkeeper without hope..

Ewood Park looks tired , the fan base is fractured and the match day experience is akin to a visit to the dentist…….dreaded..

Over the time of “ the owners “ much has been tried and sadly failed to breathe life back into this dying  club… maybe administration is the only way out of this hell . I feel I’m losing my love for this club…sometimes a divorce is what’s best .

I could never divorce myself from the club and I know your only saying that through sheer hopelessness and despair but I felt every other word of that 😔

Be nice - Hyamey, Gally’y, Hedgey, Pearsy and Brittney (sic) are much happier now that everything is the fans fault whilst not being forced to do stupid things like learn how to pass and control a football whilst still being exonerated for being crap at defending

Waiting for one of them or JE to raise our fantastic bus/coach…

    Brittany is about right

As it stands Wednesday, Millwall, QPR and Huddersfield are showing that they have the ingredients to stay up. All are picking up points at a healthy rate. All still in trouble but if they keep doing what they are will be fine.

The ones sinking fast are us, Plymouth and Stoke. Birmingham struggling a bit without Mowbray but are showing fight. Could have got a point with 10 men against Southampton and got a good point at Hull last night. So I don't see them going down.

Thing is that Plymouth have a good solid home record and will win games there against the poorer sides. So not sure about them

Think we are destined for the drop, only positive at the moment is we aren't losing every week and are getting a few draws but those could well cost us as they did under Mowbray when draws against Wolves and Bristol were celebrated and then we were relegated.

Plymouth have a couple of strikers who know where the net is aswell. Whitticker and Hardie, something we don’t have

We cannot cannot cannot go into this game and just do the same. Let's try and show something different. With Leo in goal we have to remain three at the back, anything else is suicidal. But at least we can try and do something to better link up defence and midfield. Team for me :

                                    Leo

                  Hyam     McFadz     Wharton

    Brittain   Tronstad  Buckley   Ayeri    Pickering

                   Sigurdsson    Szmodics

Try and get the ball through midfield and pick passes. Hopefully dropping Gallagher will help our link up play. Get the wide players further up the pitch. At least having the option to bring on Dolan and Gallagher late in the game will give us more legs when the opposition is tiring.

If we start Gallagher, Szmodics and Dolan all again as a three I give up.

Does anyone know if Tronstad will be fit and when JRC and Carter are back?

I’d go with that but Dolan up top instead of siggy
