  1. Makes all the hubub about Ashe Philips look well over done. All the talk on here about a once in a generation talent, he played some games for Plymouth and even there fans were not unanimous in wanting him back on loan.

I know defenders mature later but Jones was being signed by Utd at that age.

I think he may have got under 21's selection whilst here but certainly not full squad recognition. The Premier League gave him a platform undoubtedly but nobody will tell me he improved so significantly after 16 games at Palace to justify his selection. He is doing the same things and playing the same way as he did here. The talent has always been there, evident since he was a kid. He has risen to the challenge of playing with and against better players as many of us knew he would.

I don't think palace have improved him since he joined, but he looks so much better playing with players that can time a run and receive a pass. I said early on he looked so much like Pirlo but a lot of his passes where into space no one was looking to exploit.

As the saying goes it is hard to soar like an eagle when surrounded by turkeys. Pun very much intended.

Deffo no style there yet but that's the problem. I have said my opinions on United and what needs fixing there firstly before head coach role is look at. From what I read last night its seems Ipswich McKenna will take over which I think is a strange choice myself. I think Brighton move would be more logically and the right next step

Have you ever advocated for the sacking of a manager before the manager has been sacked?

I know you always say the club (Rovers) was right, immediately after the manager has been canned.

Its happened to 4 different managers have run in to the same problems each time

You need to the fix the foundations first(proper football people in key roles with a footballing structure) before you fix roof(the manager) and the inside of the house(playing squad)

He was sacked for different reasons. I have read that Chelsea owners/DoF and Pochettino wanted to go into different directions going forward. Example is Chelsea hierarchy wanted a new set pieces department and Pochettino didn't want that and felt power was taking away from him

I'd rather have Poch then Ten Haag.

Not that I am arguing that there are better options elsewhere.

If the object of the exercise is to make enough money from players sales to just “keep the lights on “ -  the plan has worked to “ perfection “. As far as I know, ‘ the lights are still on “.

However, if the object of the exercise is to have a successful football team -  just look at the league table.

No, it's the lights on thing. Also the amount of light required is subject to change, if people just put the torch on their phone on that will do.

Sammie is class getting goals considering the dross he plays with ( Wharton has been excellent and is one of those gems but Sammie continued to score even after Wharton left)

A mate messaged me said "oh he's worth £25m easily..!

On another point.. any changes Ipswich still want Gally now they are promoted?

Well they will need more stewards now they are in the Premier League.

Agreed Chaddy, it's the only answer. I have my harpoon gun attached to a shopping trolly I await the (incredibly) white whale.

Towards thee I roll, thou all-destroying but unconquering whale; to the last I grapple with thee; from hell's heart I stab at thee; for hate's sake I spit my last breath at thee.!!.

Good analysis and the numbers really do tell their own story. Out of a possible 66 points thus far we have garnered only 24 points. And to think Ewood used to hold some fear for visiting teams.

Cheer up, with the lack of investment by the owners into the stadium, I predict people will be terrified coming to Ewood Park in another few years,

It’s a metaphor. Of course only those interested will have seen it but what happened to fair minded Rovers fans giving the guy some support. He’ll be playing in the last two games so giving him both barrels isn’t going to help. We move on from the Wednesday fiasco.

Agreed mate. Lets move on, another fiasco is just round the corner.
