Naahh, it's a barometer / reality check for the remainder of the season. Might as well either gird our loins, or administer last rights. No point letting them duck the axe.

Found out this week that Ainsley Pears is dating one of my lad's old school chums.. She doesn't seem to have cottoned on to the definition of goal-digger just yet, but I'd wager she'll be offski if the financial outlook takes a turn for the worse at the end of the season. Watch this space 😉

I saw the two of them in a nightclub last night he couldn't keep his hands ON her. 🙂

As ever with England, if you go beyond our strongest XI, there is a drop off in quality.

I’d back our strongest team to give anyone a game, just there are some players we really cannot do without.

It's the same or worse for any international team. France are considered one of the best teams in the world but a lot of their first team would not get near the England first 11.

If England don't win Euros then Southgate should not even be considered for a PL job.

Not singing the bloody anthem 🙂

Seriously though, deployed left of a front three, doesn't suit him. And the penalty taken by hopelessly out of form Evan Fergusan rather than the redhot new guy??

Knowing our luck this clown (O'Shea) will get a result in the 2 friendlies and get the job full time. It will be Steve Staunton all over again.

Its not fun having Waggot and Venkys running you international team too.

    5) Sell the club to a respectable consortium fronted by an either a fan, director or a former player that understands this club

…and I’ll snap your hands off at League Two. I’d absolutely love US investment from a consortium fronted by Brad Friedel.

You think we are in financial trouble now 🤣

British people are generally shite at learning languages (learning well enough to have a fluent conversation anyway!)

Just a fact and it was no different 2 years ago when they first started calling the lad up to the Chilean squad! Hypocritical of them to use that against him now, they should simply say he's not being picked because his form for club/s and country the past 6-12 months has been poor

I think the main problem is that everyone speaks English to some extent so you can go to France, Germany, Italy Spain and by definition their English will be better than your ability at their language.

The Irish are the same, though I do sometimes wonder if I have a genuine learning disability when it comes to languages, I spent 14 years doing Irish in School and apart from telling someone I need a piss I have no Irish at all.

Edit: Jesus Bluebruce you are ruining my day. He made the point before me.

I'm a bit confused, you said no hint of a transfer story, then posted a link that mentions a transfer story?

You know what, I never even copped that. I linked the story as news for Irish rovers that it looks like he will be playing for us and got sidetracked with the story about the fee, my bad as the kids say.

I stand by the class act comment though 😁.

  7. Sammie is a class act. Not even a hint of a story about him going to another club, obviously keeps his agent on a short leash.

And he is a much better finisher than Armstrong, not saying he would do well in the Premier League but Armstrong's pace was nullified in the PL because everyone is quick. SS has more nous and intelligence in my opinion.

Good news for Ireland, looks like the Hungry links are very much dead in the water.

Article also mentions 15m link to Brentford. Surprising amount of true.

Don't care how much he goes for we won't see any of it. Hope he stays another year or two and runs his contract down and then leaves for free.

The no shots on target may not be what was being targeted and it may well be that there was no fixing going on at all.

Please read what PhilipL has had to say though on the WBA game and all I would ask, is keep an open mind.

I spoke about that game as it is specifically called out regularly about match fixing.

I do keep an open mind and I believe there was serious shady things going on but I believe it was to do with agents fees player contracts and the manager.

If I was looking to start making money from illegal betting I would not start with an investment of 50mil in a club. I'd just be gobbling one or two referees which would give you way more control for a lot less cash.

I don't know if it is available on a legal or illegal market, but assuming total teams shots are, then it stacks up. Someone has suggested spot fixing, rather than throwing the game and that seems to make more sense to me. I am not saying, I am definitely correct, but when you look at what Philips has also posted about the WBA game, things are looking a touch suspicious in my opinion.

So let's say it was fixed and 6 of the 11 players are all in on it. So you place 500k spread across a load of accounts on not a single shot being taken. What happens when one of the 5 players you have not covered take a speculative effort from 30 yards?

I could believe in a general plan to bet on back to back relegations or something but no 0 shots.

The back to back relegation thing would also seem unlikely as we had a decent start to that season where we 6th when kean left? If we were trying to get relegated surely we would have started terribly?

  10. No way he is getting sacked before end of the season even if he doesn't win one of his games.

He has a 2.5 year contract Waggot is not contacting his bosses to say he has paid someone 2.5 years wages for 8 weeks work. They wouldn't even say JDT they waited for him to get another job so they could agree mutual termination.

We are stuck with the guy for better or worse I suspect even if we are relegated and next seasoned goes badly he would be there till after Christmas.

Wonder if the Roda JC fans thought that the season he took them down?

JDT takes some responsibility, as will Eustace, but the squad is shockingly bad, and neither of them can be blamed for that.

Everyone from Broughton upwards is culpable.

Either the squad is terrible and neither manager was responsible or both managers were poor.

In my opinion We were going down under JDT, I think he was capable of saving us and had demonstrated the year before that he is a very capable manager but he had lost interest and in my opinion was doing whatever it took to get out of his contract and if that meant relegation so be it.

Yes, be they bots, plants or just straight up braindeads there were people out there saying we actually had a good January transfer window.

I don't want to argue but did they say considering the cuts that came in at the last minute and the budget we actually ended up with, they did well.

Because that is not the same as saying I think JDT got everything he needed.

For what it's worth I think we failed to get value even considering what little we spent. Leo is terrible. The strikers might as well never have arrived and the loans have been shite. Siggy might get a passing grade if you are feeling generous.

Edit: I spoke about summer rather than January sorry. January was significantly worse than summer.
