  1. Agreed James No 7, that running to the media thing really gets on your nerves. I'd also like to know why , whichever team i am, in whichever league, the assistant manager always says i havent got a good enough squad of players and will get relegated, even though in one game im top of league one by 14 points, in february.

Anybody else think this game is infinatyely easier than fm 05??? i think it may be the team talks, as long as you hit the rigjht team talk button at h/t you win, that simple.

As for the editor, cannae figure out how to work that one. Ryan Nelsens stats need bumping up badly and i want to change rvn's name to horseman. can only find the one database ('server') in the editor though, and that doesnt seem to change games that are already started? withstupid.gif

  2. I bet a pound(thats about 1.4 Euros Phil) that it contained the words Lady and Luck somewhere.

Do they have Euros in Malta?

    spot on:

Ferguson's injury marred what was a hugely successful afternoon on Tyneside for Rovers, who claimed all three points against a disappointing Newcastle courtesy of teenager Paul Gallagher's 72nd-minute strike.

The 19-year-old appeared to handle the ball as he challenged Aaron Hughes to reach Brett Emerton's cross, but Souness was happy enough to accept a stroke of luck as referee Mark Halsey saw no offence.

"The goal was fortunate, but we've scored one other fortunate goal this year, which was against Tottenham which won us the game," he said.

"Other than that, I can't think of any other time this year whenLady Luck has been with us. We've not had any penalties this year and I think the law of averages would tell you you'd expect a penalty if you've gone through half a season, and we haven't.

"But I think our defensive display has been the rock that got us the points. The goal we got was fortunate, but hopefully we'll get a few more of them, hopefully that's the start of us getting a bit more of that type of luck that makes a difference in a game."

United boss Sir Bobby Robson was unhappy with the goal, but admitted that his side had not done enough to win the game despite having a strike by Michael Chopra on his Premiership debut ruled out for offside.

"It's gone," he said. "I can't complain - what's the point? I can't change it. He's knocked it in with his hand - what can I do about it?

  3. I've a sneaky feeling that Boro might be the suprise relegation package this season.  Arry and his new bunce should see Pompey safe, West Brom are used to scrapping for survival and Boro are well short on defenders and team spirit.

the three boro fans i'm good mates with agree with you. They reckond they'll have good Uefa/ Fa cup runs and then end up relegated on the last day. could yet come true!

  4. I think your on to something there stuwilky - i don't think having drumming is a problem - as long as its done properly. Watched Porto vs Boavista on five the other night and the porto drummer and trumpet player were first class, you could tell that the atmosphere in that stadium was amazing. Maybe Brisa could organise a whip round to get him some lessons biggrin.gif

  5. Yes, i was about to mention the same thing. Hardly any of Sparky's signings have made anyone raise questions about the price being stupidly high, rather with some of them we've been more worried we are getting players too cheap (Axe, Nelsen and Kuqi).

Some of our previous managers, however, did pay daft money for players we all knew weren't worth it....

  6. Philip, this is what a Geordie says about the above article:

One of the key indicators of financial performance at a football club is the wage:turnover ratio. Ours was 57% last season which makes it one of the best in the league. It's probably around 65% with lack of European money and an increased wage bill at the moment, which puts us around the league average.

Nobody should need reminding that Leeds had a ratio of 83% which puts you in a position of needing European revenue to stay afloat. The situation is not comparible and no ammount of stupid people saying otherwise will change that.

Consider also that a large number of Serie A clubs operate at ratios > 100% as they rely on private money to operate the club. The financial situation here is not that grim.

They believe it to be bs.

  7. Get real, this is England.

They will introduce them, but there will be a problem with distribution of the nnew cards, or they'll have fancy technology on them that all goes very wrong very quickly. After the first couple of months, everybody will lose interest, and it will just become something the Police use when they've run out of all other excuses/ reasons to charge people - i can imagine £50 on the spot fines being given out on a regualr basis to blacks, muslims and anyone in a hooded top.

  8. but surely Matt is only on a very short term contract? Wasnt it week to week, month to month or something like that - maybe even 6 months - maybe it ends on tuesday, but he wanted to let other clubs get interested at the start of the transfer window, ensuring interested clubs didnt get another player in in the first few days?

Thus we wouldnt get any money for him anyway.
