He's definitely the weakest link in the starting 11.

I'm not so sure he's jogging back, it feels to me that's his version of a sprint. He's just not got it...

Reading game there were 3 men sprint forward past Smallwood whilst he just jogged back watching the counter unfold.

I think the question is will the rest of the team be livid. Livid they are starting a man short, I’d expect Bennett in his spot; livid you can get thrown under the bus for one bad game, I’d expect him to start and be first to be subbed.

He's not performed well for ages now unfortunately and jogs back when we are being overran in midfield.

Here’s my Mystic Meg: he won’t go straight into the team. Mowbray has made it crystal clear that no-one will. The incumbents own the shirts until someone proves (to the dressing room as well as Mogga) that they deserve it more. Team spirit trumps everything at the Arte Et Labore Rovers.

We'll tell if someone has to prove themselves to wear the shirt. If Smallwood gets selected today I will be livid.

Smallwood jogs back after losing the ball. Benett has to fill in centraly and a free cross on which Raya makes a fine save. Bell sleeping on the rebound.

Cant see anyone coming of the bench to change things...

I genuinely don't want him anywhere near our club. 3 man overlap and Smallwood jogs bag

If Tony says we are going to sign 4 players and we sign no-one do we still #trusttony? And if we do sign no-one does this render the phrase meaningless?

This could well be a case study in Moral Philosophy in years to come.

    Just starting the abstract now

We won't sign both Brereton and Gallagher on loan to perm.

Be one or the other on that sort of deal.

Glad he's said what we're all thinking on Whittingham/Caddis, think we could probably lump Downing in the catagory of "signed to help us get out of league one too".

Love that Mowbray has moved to rid of them. Hopefully Gladwin leaves too.

I assume this means that Travis is part of the first team plans

Don't know how anyone who got us to only our third world cup semi in history can be described as awful.

Lucky with the draw obviously, but still we had a great tournament. He did very  well with one of our worst squads ever. No pleasing some people.

Just think his setup and way he went about matches was tactically naive.

We registered 1 shot on target in open play per game. To me that shows amateur tactical knowledge

Roy struggles anywhere that has expectation of success. Put him in an underdog scenario and he'll almost always overachieve, put him in the opposite situation and he'll generally fail miserably. Even during his time at Inter they'd been struggling massively prior to his arrival, hence the relative success he had there.

England made themselves underdogs pre his management. He was awful.

As is Southgate shown by our semi final game against Croatia where he put Dier on when we were decent then sat back.

In terms of names, if we are intent on improving central midfield, which shouldnt be a priority, but anyway, rather than trying to sign MLS players, Oliver Norwood is a very good midfielder at this level and is available from Brighton.

Sheyi Ojo, Nikola Vlasic, Josh Sims and Brahim Diaz are all players that maybe we could sign on loan as natural wingers?

Chris Martin would be a very shrewd addition, him or Nelson Oliviera.

Maybe Nedum Onouha on a cheap deal would be a clever move to save money for more pressing positions, if he is fit enough.

Bakary Sako is still without a club, again no idea on wage demands.

    Ojo 10m

    Norwood 8m

    Chris martin not great

    Nelson Oliveira 35k a week

In respect of various points raised over recent days:

Armstrong/Chapman not being main targets - this may have been true, or IMO, it was TM being astute. Had we been promoted and he come out and said he wanted them signed up, this would immediately have given their respective teams cause to hold out for a higher fee.

The same applies to Bauer with the comments we are moving on. I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up landing him, but it's hardly a position of strength to negotiate if you come out and say the player is your main target.

Sharpe/LET coverage - some say they know nothing, others that they're tied by the club. I get the impression they only publish when something is close to being confirmed, the club think it may help push a deal, or a genuine scoop is broken elsewhere. A high percentage of traffic to the LET will be about Rovers, if they published everything they know straight away, I'm sure the club could make things much more difficult for the paper in terms of access. In turn, they'd have less to publish, less traffic and less revenue. It's a fine line for them to tread.

Just a smokescreen to make agents think they aren't bothered - cheaper cost/wages etc
