It's possible that Wharton money has given us better centre half options. Then again.
We need a CM too if Wharton leaves.
Maybe we'll look at that QPR CM Chris Willock.
Would love us to sign Illias Chair

£2.3m?
Wharton money incoming, Gallagher off too I assume.
In desperate need of a CM now too.

Yes, Palace is a good move for him if he backs himself. Straight into the team. Anyone else in for him (Spurs, Chelsea etc) have massive squads with players they paid £50M+ for in his position. He could never see the light of day.
If I was him I think I'd prefer Palace. If he performs will move on again on a couple of years for the mega money.
Wharton made that Enzo Fernandez look like he was making his debut in professional football.

Apparently Adam is having his medical at Palace today, could be codswallop but information passed from a supposed friend of the family.
At least we're not doing it on deadline day, guess that's a positive.
I'm gutted personally.
But signs of where we're at as a club.

The rumour around me in the Jack Walker is that he's probably staying until the summer.
On loan? Lol

An inkling. The magic number is 25M and they’re at 22M. They’ve this morning signed a right back and a striker, so Adam will be their priority.
True, can see Chelsea potentially bidding with Gallagher potentially moving to Spurs

I tend to agree.
Anything on this, or more an inkling?

Gallagher did well last night, but I can't ignore how many times i've rooted for him and ended up disappointed.
Yeah, he runs a lot and puts in effort... but his touch is shite, he's bad in the air, can't hold the ball up well and just doesn't have that natural striker's instinct. It's rare he pulls off a performance better than a 6/10.
We've had years worth of proof that he doesn't get you goals at this level, and you need goals from a number 9.
It's no coincidence, that he suddenly looks good, and it just so happens to be against League 2 opposition.
He'll probably get injured again in a few weeks... so take the £2m, free up his wages and buy the yank I say.
Completely agree.
I think the lack of striker we have now makes most people think he's the answer.
When in reality the above is the situation - mostly a 6/10 and not a goalscorer.

Could it be that Yates is lined up to replace Ennis as the second striker option and McGuire would replace Gally as the target.
With the three at the back, I’d say SS would thrive in that role Moran played (failed at) last night.
Pears
Phillips. Hyam. Wharton
JRC Sondre. Wharton. Hedges
Szmodics
Yates Gally
Still have Dolan, Brittain, Pickering when fit and Siggy for the wing back roles.
Carter when fit, ORiordan for CB
Buckley when fit, Ayari and Garrett for CM
Still missing a striker even if we keep Ennis and Leonard….?
Gally isn't a target man is he though.
He can't hold up the ball, he has a bad first touch and hes bad in the air?

A few things could fall into place the next few days.
Spurs apparently looking to sign Connor Gallagher from Chelsea, could that then mean Chelsea put a bid in for Wharton?
-
Issue with Yates is he always needs to be alongside a target man.

Yes Gally had a good game today but generally not suited to the championship and or JDT style, if we can get both the lad from Swansea and the lad from Orlando in exchange for Gally, I would do the deal..
Yeah agree.

Would matter if he was centre midfield. He doesn't offer anything out wide.
Agreed. He'd not be starting every game in a normal ran championship club imo.
But then again I'm not sure Sig would either

Have to say that BBC commentary team is the worst bit of commentary I've heard, extremely biased and not knowledgeable at all.

What's happened to Moran? Sig too?
Just seemed non existent today again

Unlike Rev, I'd have him back on loan. Hope we get a good price with good add-ons if he goes.
I get you.
But he's then impacting the development of our own players.

It's such an ambiguous post the team news will be interesting either way. Play him and it's a sign we or he may have rejected, not playing and no doubt many will claim he is off. Yet we're playing a league 2 side, so wouldn't be surprised if one or 2 aren't used.
Or he's coming back on loan.
Or JDT is fuming and leaving after this game.

How will Venky fund the club?

We have a big catchment area, just a lot of competition in it.
Makes it all the more important that we do our damned best to retain and grow that catchment area without PL football to offer, and all the more unforgivable the approach Rovers have taken in the last decade which is to do absolutely nothing to promote the club anywhere outside of Blackburn with Darwen.
Sides like Ipswich and Norwich don't need to do very much to pull them in - a couple of decent seasons and promotion pushes will do it - the people out there have little else to do other than go back to them
Here people have many other options ranging from Accy Stanley because it's easier and cheaper, to City because they can watch a quality product for less, to everything inbetween.
The advantage we accumulated under Walker and 20 years of top flight football is being eroded and I think the club could and should do a lot more to stop or reverse that.
Outside of us fans, everyone sees our fanbase as embarrassing. Harsh truth of where we are at.
Not many fans inside and outside at all understand the impact Venkys have had on us.
Have no understanding of the fans we have lost at all.
