Would matter if he was centre midfield. He doesn't offer anything out wide.
Agreed. He'd not be starting every game in a normal ran championship club imo.
But then again I'm not sure Sig would either

Have to say that BBC commentary team is the worst bit of commentary I've heard, extremely biased and not knowledgeable at all.

Nixon now saying Cardiff are favourites for Phillips.
Wharton money in, now looking elsewhere?
Or is it wishful thinking?

Unlike Rev, I'd have him back on loan. Hope we get a good price with good add-ons if he goes.
I get you.
But he's then impacting the development of our own players.

It's such an ambiguous post the team news will be interesting either way. Play him and it's a sign we or he may have rejected, not playing and no doubt many will claim he is off. Yet we're playing a league 2 side, so wouldn't be surprised if one or 2 aren't used.
Or he's coming back on loan.
Or JDT is fuming and leaving after this game.

Don't think we'll accept that personally.
How will Venky fund the club?

We have a big catchment area, just a lot of competition in it.
Makes it all the more important that we do our damned best to retain and grow that catchment area without PL football to offer, and all the more unforgivable the approach Rovers have taken in the last decade which is to do absolutely nothing to promote the club anywhere outside of Blackburn with Darwen.
Sides like Ipswich and Norwich don't need to do very much to pull them in - a couple of decent seasons and promotion pushes will do it - the people out there have little else to do other than go back to them
Here people have many other options ranging from Accy Stanley because it's easier and cheaper, to City because they can watch a quality product for less, to everything inbetween.
The advantage we accumulated under Walker and 20 years of top flight football is being eroded and I think the club could and should do a lot more to stop or reverse that.
Outside of us fans, everyone sees our fanbase as embarrassing. Harsh truth of where we are at.
Not many fans inside and outside at all understand the impact Venkys have had on us.
Have no understanding of the fans we have lost at all.

Ipswich close on Al Hamadi and still want another striker. Gallagher a target dependant on us signing a replacement.
Oh decent.
Disappointed to see we missed out on him.
He's class.

Where have you read that Gallagher is now staying.
Much preferred yesterday, posting a link to the Wharton to Spurs rumour 👍
Assumption based on the fact Ipswich are about to sign a striker.
I doubt they come in for Gallagher now.

Cardiff battling us for Nat Phillips.

Meanwhile Gallagher stays and we miss out on Ali Al Hamadi.
Ipswich getting a way way better striker.

Extremely surprised to see Gilsenen playing today and not playing tomorrow.
If Gallagher and Wharton aren't in the match day squad we all know why.

Absolutely buzzing to see Isaac Whitehall back playing for the club. Hopefully still a massive prospect for the club and can kick on injury free for us.

Its a big and potentially biased statement that. Scott won young player of the season, Wharton has shown his class but hes not been consistently great I wouldnt say this season. Scott meanwhile since his injury has shown his quality in glimpses at Premier League level. Scott is certainly ahead of Wharton now, both are excellent talents and have the potential to play for England but theres a hell of a long way to go until they do.
Wharton is incredible, he makes seasoned pros look like amateurs.

Alex Scott went from mid table championship club to Lower mid table PL club. Similar to this transfer.
Maddison went from Norwich to Leicester for £20m back in 2018.
No one wants to sell Wharton but that money if we sold for £25m and we reinvest half of it into 6 quality players who would improve the overall depth and quality of the squad would make us more competitive and better chance of promotion plus keep JDT here next season.
Wharton won't wait for ages for promotion and he will want to be playing PL football as soon as possible. Ideally that would be with us.
I do think he will stay here until the summer and either move to Newcastle or Man Utd. Dan Ashworth, Newcastle United DoF has scouted himself a few times so he clearly rated him
Alex Scott isn't good enough to lace Wharton's boots.
One will play for England one won't

Gally out for 2m, with Yates in on loan (loan to buy hopefully) is great business.
Gallagher, for all of his running around, is technically awful and terrible at using his physical advantages.
I genuinely see JRC, playing as a right-back, as a way bigger attacking threat than Gallagher.
Get it done 👍
Only problem is Yates is hated by the Swans fans.
Can we not be more inventive with a ST signing?
Find it mad how in the summer we boasted about our opportunity for work permit signings, yet we've filled 1 spot? Or 2? Out of 4?

Yates also has that shithouse mentality we lack uptop - Would be a great signing if it happen.
Apparently only good with someone up top with him.
View from the swans fans.
