  1. So what reliable source have you heard this from? The club? The police? or the man down the pub?
  2. I think his main gripe was not the fans getting onto to the pitch, but the actions once they were on the pitch.
  3. So if Dickov is fit you wouldnt start him or have him on the bench?
  4. Yes, but if she put in your details and could find no history then in her eyes you would be lying. The issue is not her attitude, it is why it appeared that you had no history. Was it her being unable to read what was on her screen, her inputting your details wrongly or for some reason the club not having a record of your history.
  5. You're not friends with a Burnley Lad are you? Was he asked about a ticket history?
  6. What can the club do? how can we come down on them hard? Its now up to us and the Police to ensure that if the rumours are correct that they dont let them in the ground. the unfortunate fact is that Burnley wont get done for selling tickets to banned "fans" but we could get done for letting them into the ground. Just hopethe stewarding and policeing isup to scrath tomorrow.
  7. What your source for this rumour?
  8. Intrigued to know your forecast source. The weather on BBC (TV and web) says it will be snowy/sleety (but no significant amount) in morning, brightening up later but will be v cold.
  9. I think this is the Key point here. The Media. They dont like him, feel it stemmed from his reaction when Porto beat ManU. In thoose days he was THE ENEMY as he was a foreign manager for a foreign club who just beat the tabloids favoured club. Now he is over here, forming a good team that is likely to be v successful and he is talking in the same arrogant manor that Ferguson sometimes have. the problemd is the press hate him and doing their best to ensure evryone else does. Since v few of us ever meet the managers, our opinions of them are formed by the selective editing of newspaper articles and TV segments. He is no worse than many succesfull managers, just that the media appear to dislike him more.
  10. Because they werent worried about Rovers fans buying tickets for the Darwen End. Although this means that some more devoted Dingles fans may have missed out on tickets and thus will try and buy them in the home areas. And given how many complaints about the current supposed trained ticket office staff handles some of the applications such as Kamy100's, just think how bad it would have been if the club had done as some here had suggested and put other backroom/office staff into the ticket office.
  11. You could assume he was saying that as a joke, but given his vociferous criticims so far on this issue I think we are more likely to assume that he is serious, and thus, as so rightly say, he removes his credibilty on this issue.
  12. perhaps they seen that the queues have started to drop off and they are not a busy as they were. From what Lee has said it appears to be a lot quiter today. We will only know come tomorrow and Sunday whether they are correct. It may turn out the club have a better idea of demand than we think, and just were caught out by a mad rush of season ticket holders and people with a history. Don't criticse the weekends ticketing arrangements sood soon.
  13. Well said. Years ago I saw Jack Marshall sweeping the terraces after a game ! Johnny Carey used to to muck in cleaning the dressing room. Work to be done so the management helps out. If the club asks for criticism it is going to get it, and in this case it deserves it. I know that most would like the club and football in general to be run like it was in the gold 'ol day but things have moved on. Whther you like it or not, the only time you will ever see a chied exec working on the "shop floor" is when the do it for that BBC programme, "Back to the floor" or something. Personally I get the feeling that Williams would actually be usless at manning a phone or window in the ticket office.
  14. For all those who agree with you here, Who will replace him for less than he is on and do a better job? Chief execs, whether they deserve it or not, wanta to earn a lot. Couple with the fact that you need to find someone with experience of running a business similar to a topflight football company. I just struggle to beleive that anyone can ever comprehend that the fact that for once we cannot get tickets with no hassle is another reason to pay a small fortune to get rid of a cheif exec who has done an ok job. Yes, I may complain about the hassles I have had, but compared with people I know who support other clubs, we just don't know how lucky we are. by the sounds of it with the online booking a significant proportion of people will be able to get the tickets online. This should mean that the current ticketing capacity (phone and office) whould be ample. Sounds like th echief exec has done his job and was just unlucky that this new approach was not avaliable in time.
  15. I think it would be fair enough for the club to spend the time and money to train the staff for occasions such as this IF it was a problem that occured more than once every couple of years. Since its such a rare thing, if the staff were forced to do it, they would not know exactly what they were doing, would contstantly ask the staff he work in the ticket office how to do stuff and we would be on here complaining about how poor all these backroom staff were. There is only one sensible solution (and bt the sounds of it it will be implemented v soon), and that is to automate it, i.e online or automated phone services.
  16. Umm, would comment if this was in any way similar. Its just that I cant ever remember paying for any of my loyalty cards or actually expect anything for having one or being gauranteed any service levels. Loyalty cards are a money back scheme, so totally different to this. And I am not saying the club is right in its actions, just that its totally understandable why its doing it and the fact that I would be mightily pis£ed off if I was a 500 club member and didnt get what i paid for (as would you be).
  17. Wouldnt trust a postal application for something as important as this. You are screw£d if it gets lost in the post. I have had to many things get lost in the post, including season ticket applications (this year both my season ticket pack and then my completed application got lost).
  18. Its not an easier method if you cannot gaurantee to get to every match and have to have the hassle or returning the tickets. Also for some fans here cash is an issue. They need to control their budgets v carefully. They may push the boat out for this match but not v Colchester. Why should the be penalised because they are not cash rich like some people. They will still try and go to every match they can afford. keep up with the debate.
  19. I wouldnt let anyone borrow my bag, its well stained, I can suck nourishment from it when hungry and I find it good company on cold winter nights.
  20. From the rover site If i paid £200 quid a year and was told that for this match I wasnt getting any of that I would be v v v v pis$*ed off. I would say that this stamenet suggests they would have an obligation to provide this service elsewhere to 500 Club member if they could mot use the International Suite. Unfortunately the only over suitable location appears to be the Blues Bar. Unlucky for some but not a lot the club can do about it. Have a drink before the match elsewhere. enjoy, go hoem or to ur local pub for drink after match. As pointed out, this is pretty much a one of match so we have to work around issues like this and the ticketing.
  21. I was commenting on the fact that you said The Blues Bar is, as mentioned before, down to the fact that they had to find somewhere else for the 500 club members who had already paid for the priviledge of a social location before the match. Unlucky I know, but a club does not have to have a bar open for it fans, but it does have to try and forfil obligations to those who have paid for a service. Personally I feel a good seat and a good game is more important than a drink.
  22. A word of warning. Some phones (mainly mobiles) may cut off if nothing happens on it for a while (like mine did yesterday after 20mins). To avoid this, press 9 at regular intervals.
  23. Not exactly a whim if they are being told/advised to close be the Police and the club or if they doent want to open as they are worried about trouble. May be over cautious, but given recent events I think its best to err on the side of caution. The problem here is that it prevent for majority from having a peacufull pint before the match.
