I can only remember one headed  goal in all the games he played.  He was first to the ball in a crowded goalmouth and he headed the ball in from almost a crouching positin. The lad had a good leap but where the ball went after that was anybody's guess.

The goals scored was four.  Now that wasn't youre argument regarding Gally ..it was how many headers ..how many flick ons  he did .. now MGP could do both as anyone who actually watched him would know.

Accy game against Sunderland called off after 73 minutes yesterday.

Not sure what usual practice is but Andy Holt says tickets not valid for replayed fixture but assume that’s normal as he always comes across as decent as they come.

And so it should be . Extra policing ..stewards ..bar staff ..all needs paying for .The only people who ll benefit are Accy season ticket holders ...free game ..so at one stroke their takings "ticket" wise are slashed .

That's what being a good header of the ball entails. You've got to risk getting nutted from time to time, some players can't handle that, just like some don't like being on the end of an heavy tackle. Other guys thrive on that sort of stuff. People used to tell me MGP was a good header of the ball - until the Chelsea game at Old Trafford. Lots of very tall guys are poor headers of the ball,  it's not unusual.

Give over ..MGP won loads in the air ..loads ..if one missed placed header means he was  bad then Blueboys video of Gally winning three ? headers means hes f8c king ace in your book !

That's where Liverpool signed him from wasn't it?

Just looked him up. He was signed from Boro but was actually in Australia playing for West Adelaide.

Even more amusing, he was at Tottenham from 1970-72 and made no appearances. Could always spot a good player that club!!

I'm coming around to rewire your house tomorrow - do you want me to do the job or my 19 yr old apprentice ?

Listen, me and you aren't going to agree on this. I think the club have dropped a big bollock with this signing, you think he's a star in the making.

In time one of us will be proven right. Let's leave it at that shall we ? I've got a fence to Creosote.

Well stop replying and get painting ...

Just giving you a heads up so you can get down early before half time. Pass it on to your dad so he can get his pie and pint and your pop and crisps. ;)

Anyway, makes a change from Mowbray’s team selections (and subsequent results) putting a downer on things.

Stuart sorry that wasn't  meant as a put down .

    Appreciate the heads up ty

And if my dad was still with us I'm sure he would buy in for me and his grand children

Maintaining a jog, trot or canter should be the minimum expectation rather than learning to walk.  A sprint here and there would be great following the amble of the last couple of matches.

    Clear enough?

Don't get ahead of yourself..stalling and staying up would be the expectations of most Rovers fans ..don't let the good start cloud your judgement.

Can you read? Or are you just trying to be clever?

Parson was always going to say it was perfect timing. Just as Chaddy was always going to kiss his ring.

I presume nobody at your school supports Preston or Wigan then?

Im sorry you ve had a bad week Stuart getting stick ..maybe you should grow a pair and tell um to f@ ck right off …?

Meanwhile il go to work in Burnley with my head held up high ..

Excellent news.  Mowbray has put the club back on a solid footing and thoroughly deserves a long term contract.  Personally, I think the timing is perfect coming on the back of two defeats - no better way for the owners to show their faith in the manager and indicates that one or two bad results won't lead to wholesale changes and the instability we've had in the past.

Have to agree ! Stuart wanted a fanfare and a parade around the pitch ..probably the last thing TM would want!

We ve done exactly what Sheff Utd did when they came up,exceeded expectations and then slowly finding our place. What TM does in the next couple of transfer windows is going to be more important than a couple of defeats. Stay up consolidate move on.

personally for this game I would go with Dack on the bench. Bring him on when the opposition have tired both physically and mentally. Also it is much harder for the opposition manager to get across how he wants to mark Dack, to his players whilst the game is actually in progress. Winning games is sometimes down to confusing the opposition.

Well hasn't TM tried to confuse opponents already with his recent starting eleven especially with Dacks position  ??    certainly confused many on here !

Get Dack back to his preferred position and starting the game . Ifs Dacks as good as what we think or hope he is his he will come good again and start to give opposition teams the runaround. And if they  want to double up in marking him so be it ..lets play against ten men..gaps for others to exploit.

“He came on and made an impact, but I don’t sit here regretting the decisions I made with the team selection.

“Palmer played up top, we went with the speed of Armstrong in the wide areas.

“Take the first 10 minutes out of it and I thought it was a confident performance, which sounds strange having lost the game 4-1.

“I’m not hiding behind the fact the defenders weren’t good enough, that’s uncharacteristic of them"

Roughly translated as 'not my fault'. He was exactly the same at the start of last season when we were struggling.

    but ..honest ?
