A lot of my friends support Liverpool, it's sad that we now play them in "marquess friendlies" whereas BV(before Venkys) we used to have regular competitive games with them.

Be nice to win it, I just hope no one gets injured first and foremost though.

Bragging rights if we win it then..?

Frightening set of players they are bringing over

  2. y'know, being professional athletes and all that, you'd expect some clauses in the contract that a player should keep to a baseline fitness, BMI and all that jazz, failing which a contract may be terminated or reduced wages.

looking through the Austria pictures, one can spot Caddis still carrying a lot of timber

I do think they play good football though ... ahlnd are fit as butchers dogs despite being oldish and from a small country. I like their red polka better than widow weed black. I want them to beat France but doubt it.

Same sentiments there. Do hope we see history in the making. This is their first final

  4. Looking forward, the young ones will learn and grow. Still very strong defence, midfield yes including alli and lingard, and strikers like Kane. Really did think there was something divine and we were going to the final and smashing France

could be the booze speaking now

Is it worth looking at Jon Flanagan as he’s been released. Lost his way a bit but he was a very good player previously. Could be one to flourish under Tony.

(sorry just noticed he’s been mentioned on the last page)

He has lots of issues, doesn’t he? Imho, wouldn’t touch with a barge pole

If Mowbray does come back with a good wedge I don't think he'll be announcing the fact.

I think this is a sensible course of action. Don't want to be coming back and announcing that he has money to spend. The selling clubs would take that as a cue to drive a harder bargain. best to say we are penniless?

Hi Mercer, I understand what you are saying but I think Mowbray is being very canny.  I have done business in India for many years and I know how their minds work, in a cultural sort of way.

IMO I think Mowbray is playing it exactly right and we will see where it leads.

I tend to agree with this. Have done work with Asians, orientals etc. and they do have a different way of working and looking at things. I find that if they find a personal connection to you, then many things go (if it makes sense, the Chinese call it guanxi). it's not wholly about hard stats etc. well, we do have foreign owners.

hope it's not politically incorrect here but I think TM is approaching it right too.

That's a real shame, so sorry for him. It's that sudden  burst of acceleration that brings it on. I would have thought he would have been doing sprints in his recovery period. To be honest I was surprised he was being risked on a really cold night.

He was desperate to play for us again, and that’s heart rending. Can’t see him in a rovers shirt anytime soon, what a pity. He’s one we took to, and not many starts at that. What could have been, alas

FT 5-0. One of the most one-sided games Ive ever seen. An all around tough watch as a Rovers fan.

So Jack Vale has signed on until 2020. He seems like a decent prospect. Anyone know anything about him?

Seems a talent. Been moved to the U-23s. Excited about 18 year old Simmonds too
