Doesnt sound like something Venkys would purr over. Spending 1m when as far as they are concerned, we already have 2 goalkeepers. They arent too bothered if they are any good or not.

He wouldnt come here I dont think anyway, he should get a better move on bigger wages elsewhere. Giving Rotherham a supposed sweetener in Wahlstedt would make no difference to negotiations as anyone can activate that release clause. Plus no way would Steve Evans want Wahlstedt anyway.

Based on the one cameo he had, I suspect the only chaos Koumetio would have caused would have been in our own defence. You look at the levels that his previous 2 loans were at and then consider that he couldnt even get regular gametime at those clubs, and you can maybe understand why he hasnt been used here, clearly a very late and desperate move.

Pickering is a solid left back at this level and was a key part in the teams that finished 7th and 8th. He is being hung out to dry at the moment under Eustace in a position that doesnt suit him. But Chrisene isnt better than him.

Ayari has had a mixture of ineffective cameos and ones where he has had somewhat of an impact, he was decent yesterday. But he came as a number 10 which was one position we didnt need, but with the shit show of a window we had losing Travis and then Wharton, the only place he has had a chance of getting game time in is deeper. I wonder if he could be trusted in that position.

Either way, the point is valid that clubs may be less likely to loan us players having seen how little this seasons batch has finished.

Well in the regularly repeated words of a wise old man(well chaddy!) 'that's just your opinion'

That's why it's called development. I think Moran will assess his time here with Brighton and probably go out on another Championship loan next season. Ayari as well, but might go overseas. Branthwaite wasn't any good here, but look at him now.

But Ayari, Chrisene and koumetio haven't even really been given a chance only as a last resort!

Our midfield has been crying out for a more creative player like Ayari, but still he only gets the odd cameo and Chrisene is easily better than pickering! Koumetio hasn't even been given a start thatvi can remember and Ibthink his physical presence and hussleNbussle style could have causrd a bit of chaos and given thecteam a lift in the drab stale games

The only way we'll be looking at new goalkeepers is in the unlikely event either Pears or Wahlstedt attract cash bids from elsewhere and we manage to sell them.

That will be a financially motivated decision depending on whether anyone entices us with cash.

Until that happens both will be under contract and they won't be worrying about that position in the transfer window.

I'm not so certain, if we go down then yes you are probably right.

But if we stay up then I think something needs to change in the keeping dept! Wahlstadt can't just be left to fester on the bench and in reserves especially after paying good money for him, I think he'll be pushing for a move away, most likely a season loan away as nobody is going to pay near what we did for him

Leaving just Pears, who is just gurenteed to keep costing us points and leaving the defenders in front of him with no confidance in him...

This is all well and good be we do the same to teams lower in the ladder

We took tyjon from my local team Rochdale.

We should just have them on the bench giving minutes here and there instead of playing shit loanees

I get your point, but it still sucks giant balls, also as we are higher in divisions and stature than Rochdale there's a LOT more potential money at stake when we lose one of our quality academy players for virtually nothing

  5. IF we are lucky enough to stay up we should be all over Rotherhams Viktor Johanson. Reported release clause of just 1 mill! which is a snip for a relatively young quality established championship keeper (especially considering we paid not far off that for Wahlstadt)

We should offer them swede in return sending them Leo on loan for a season as they'll be looking for a keeper.

Kind of deal venkys usually purrr over. Relatively young(for a keeper!) low price, likely modest wages and still a lot of room for him to improve as a player and increase his value.

  6. A lot of chatter about Finneran being snapped up by a prem or german club...

I honestly don't see the fkin point of spending millions developing players for years if the most promising players can just walk away for nothing or at best give us a season before getting sold? And we just end up keeping the very average 3rd/4th rate(at best) players.

It used to be a great thing in the past seeing young players get into the first team and give us a good few years at least before leaving

The Darwen End had home fans in it every game pretty much (unless moved for Liverpool/Man Utd) for twenty years from 95/96 until c2015.

Well my mind seems to have blanked that out 😂

It's still the away end for me though and if the away fans can fill it it, then give it all to them.

The onus is on the home fans to shout them down from every other stand.

I dont remember tim flowers, Friedel, Robinson ever complaining! If anything i vaguely remember ocasions when they enjoyed the banter with the away fans behind them. It should push the player to raise their game! Not bottle it like an amatures

Why when we had the singing section in the Darwen end back in the prem days it worked well.

When was that, i don't really remember it? I remember the odd game later in the walker trust years where they'd open the darwen end lower tier to rovers fans when they weren't expecting many away fans. Personally didn't like it, just felt wrong to me sitting in what I'd always known as the away end.

  9. I can't imagine many of the current first team sticking around for division 1.

Thats partly the problem of why we are where we are, We've a team of players that couldn't really care less about the actual club and would jump ship the minute an offer from a club offering more money and a touch of ambition came forward

Maybe Telavovic might have something to offer in div 1 🤷‍♂️

Playing at home with 7000+ away fans behind one goal filling 25% of the stadium isn't normal. That's the point. Nobody else does it. It's not just a run of the mill situation that players are used to dealing with every week.

So it's likely when we do it is going to have some sort of effect.

We've a young, weak and inexperienced group. Sheffield Wednesday are at the opposite end of that scale. I'd wager the younger ones would struggle more than the experienced ones in such circumstances.

I really have to agree with the chaddertron on this one(😬😬)

  11. I really don't understand the complaints about the away fans filling out the darwen end! Fair play to them i say!!

In my lifetime(admittedly that's just from the very beginning of the Jack walker era onwards) the darwen end has always been the away supporters end🤷‍♂️ apart from occasional periods (mainly under the Vs) where sections have been made available to rovers fans to

It's sad that we no longer get close to filling out the other 3 stands and yes that is mostly down to the Venkys gutting the heart out of the club and waggot continually looking for ways to extort rovers fans

One problem i do see at ewood is that rovers fans themselves are very fragmented(not sure that's the right word😅) on matchdays. It's like the blackburn end, JW and riverside supporters are all singing from a different song sheet.

They annoyed me at the time but maybe we should get the drummers back in the blackburn end to get us all in sync 😄

Kaminski,Raya and Steele all play in the Premier League which would suggest our goalkeeping coaches are perfectly good enough if the raw materials they are working with are as well.

Pretty sure the current keeping coaches had nothing to do with Rayas progress through the ranks and as someone else mentioned Kaminski was already pretty much the finished article when he arrived, other than those two there have been no other keepers at the club that have been anything more than average back up keeper quality

  13. Players aside! A top priority this summer should be finding and bringing 2 good new Goalkeeping coaches (one for first team and  one for the youngsters) because or current gk coaching dept is clearly very dire to say the least.

A lot of the mistakes you see our keepers make are from poor decision making and poor positioning, the 2 things a good gk coach should help improve

  14. For the first time this season my gut feeling is that we are going to go down 😞

I just don't see enough quality and resolve in this squad to put up much of a fight.

God if it wasn't for Szmodics goals we'd already have been rock bottom of the league long before now.

With Eustace it sadly just seems we've gone back to just hiring yes men managers/coaches

I understand your point. Although I'm not going OTT. Just having a moan on a forum of fellow rovers supporters so don't worry!! I thought he was poor against Bristol and he looked like he picked up some urgency against Leeds but that deceived me. Like someone else said, any pressure (ie Newcastle and Leeds ) these lads play fine but as soon as we HAVE to win ala today they just succumb and we need a good leader to rally the troops. Sadly he does not show the required leadership characteristics

Simply considering where we are in the league.... Wouldn't it suggest the the "ott" positivity towards the once in a blue moon good result or performance Is the silly reaction!?

I never bought a Tesla for the looks, but I think you're being harsh Armchair.

Blistering pace, plenty of gadgets, loads of cabin and boot space + around 280 miles between charges, whats not to like!

Its all a matter of opinions of course.

I just find "Tesla" an absolute turn off to be honest, Probably for the same reasons I've never owned an "Apple" product(for example 25% of the cost is usually just for the brand name)
