Funny how that £7m Mowbray “wasted” on Brereton seems to have been conveniently forgotten. Now it’s tie him to a long term deal , he’s worth more than AA.
Just maybe he was bought as a 20 year old kid with potential, and that potential is starting to be realised.

..... Now he's in the final year of his contract🙄

Yeah that makes sense. No way did they expect it to take so long for the guy to establish himself, he was playing regular first team football for forest before joining us, they probably thought he'd just need 6-12 months to toughen up a bit that's all

  2. After the frustrating and probably miserable few years he's had here working under that useless bs merchant Mowbray and his dross bunch of cronies, I'm made up for the lad.

Yes yes i know it's only Bolivia! But still he must have been under a lot of pressure from both sides of the ocean and the spotlight has firmly been fixed on him the last few weeks (with many mocking him and waiting for him to fail)

So to score a perfectly tidy goal like that speaks volumes about his charecter and ability.

Shame he's going to likely be coming back here to be made to look lost and amateurish under Mowbrays pish poor management will be a shame.

Though if he can bang a couple more in I can see there being real interest from clubs abroad(at least!) wanting to sign him

  3. not to different to how Sam Allardyce was running Bolton in their hey day 15-20years ago to be fair

one of the biggest stand out points from that for me as the use of Loan players, i think in recent years weve relied far to heavily on loan players (especially young players from big prem clubs) and I do feel this effects the morale, confidence and psychology of our own young and fringe players

yes you can point out how good Harvey Elliot's personal stats look... but at the end of the season it's the teams league position that counts, for example who's to say chapman couldn't have done as well as Elliot had he been given a fair run and chance to build his confidence and I cant imagine Carter could have done much worst than the woeful Brannthwaite

  4. Seeing how David Moyes has rejuvenated his career this season a west ham makes me feel Mark Hughes must be Due a revival, just a case of finding the right club at the right time with a good backroom/coaching team.....

Sadly I just cant see him coming here and being happy working the way our club is currently run.

  5. Id be delighted if we took a bit of a punt on Ainsworth, if it works out it could be brilliant and just the spark needed to revitalise the first team, if it doesn't work then meh! Not like there's much to lose at this point.

Mowbray is now firmly in Kean territory for me and is just making me gag with every bit of nonsensical drivel he comes out with.

We need Shebby Singh to sort this lot out, just imagine if he turned up Monday morning 10.00 am.

" Good morning Tony, my name's Shebby, Madame Desai has sent me to help you sort-out the club,

I've heard the training ground has once again turned into a holiday camp, don't worry we will soon sort

that out, i've got my tracksuit. "

Would actually be worthbit to see the look on the manager and players faces 😄😄

That said, i think its only fair to point out that although the first team and first team manager are doing poo, the rest of the club(academy-u23s are doing very well it seems) the foundations are there and i will give Mowbray some credit for his part in that... But what's happening with the first team is inexcusable and things have just gone very stale, the only remedy is a new manager with fresh ideas and more enthusiasm!

  7. Sorry not trying to be an arse but i think we play far better as a team without Dack(when he was out for the first half of the season) we're far to predictable with him as the oppo always know that when he's on the pitch all of our attack play goes through him so all they need to do is take him out.

That said, Mowbray can still do one, awful league position and performances aside... I'm sick of his whinging, whining and excuses. Now he's also got the club shedding crocodile tears over Dack, seriously back in the day when a player got a bad injurey it was just 'oh well that's a bummer' but the team (and fans) just quickly move on. maybe its more a sign of the times that we're in. the club will/should be insured, the player will still get paid and I doubt Dack would have extended his contract with us unless we were promoted anyway(and that is not going to happen under this manager or sadly it seems these owners) sorry if that's harsh.

Like Mick McCarthy and Neil Warnock ?

I don't understand your question sorry?

Both those managers have far better CVs than Mowbray, but i don't think any of those managers are what we need longterm.

Also we have some of the best attcking players in the league at present so we need a manager that will get the best of them, whilst at the same time sorting out our awful defensive setup.

  9. Pullis 🤢 I despair, we need someone whos going to bring some optimism & charisma with him, not another hasbin dinosaur.

When Mowbray was initially hired, he was the right man for the job at that time and it turned out to be one of the venkys very few successful decisions, let's keep a little faith and hope we again get the right man for the job and also that they don't let Mowbray carry on moping about the place for much longer, further destroying whatever moral is left at the training ground!

I know he’s probably hated here, but Appleton doing a fantastic job at Lincoln City. In all likelihood, they will be promoted to Championship.

Another former Rovers’ coach, Darren Moore, has Doncaster in the playoff places.

I still think if the owners want promotion, they need to make Benitez an offer. He wasn’t afraid to manage Newcastle when they were in the Championship.

I would prefer any of these three over the usual cast of characters who surface when any job is mentioned.

Yeah Appleton was just way too young and his timing was unlucky, his fate was sealed before he even walked through the door with Shabby lurking in the shadows undermining his every decision.

Also sadly it didn't help that he had a matching dome as Kean at the time!!! he now looks much better with the rug(or is it implants🤔)

It was obvious to those with eyes that see that he'd lost the players a few games ago. They're playing to get him out now in my opinion.

very much looks that way, lets just hope this doesn't become another Venky Farce and they make a swift change before  player moral completely disintegrates and we go into freefall.

Saying that I think for as long as top 6 is still mathematically possible and we win the occasional game then Mowbrey and his cronies will continue to bs the venkys(or whoever makes the big decisions at the club these days)

  12. At this point id take D Johnson as caretaker until the end of the season, he knows the young players well and how to get the best out of them (unless whoevers running the club these days has a Trump card up their sleeve!)

I think sadly Mark Hughes is now well passed his best and is now in a similar category as Mowbray as a manager (that said he's still worth a punt, maybe his recent break from the game has rejuvenated him)

We need a relatively young hungry manager/coach with fresh ideas, good man management skills and some bloody charisma about him!

  13. The only way Mowbray will leave or get potted is if he loses the dressing room, but as most of the players in the squad where hand picked by him or brought into the senior squad by him that's highly unlikely to happen. saddly. but we'll never do better than mid table in the championship with him and his transparent tactics, lack off a plan b..c...

I'd say that I'd love to see Leslie back managing us, but can't see him coming to the championship unless its to a club with genuinely big ambitions and substantial transfer funds available.
