He said in the same interview, on several occasions that they want us to be a “self sustainable Premier League club” (The vision). He also referred to us needing to “overachieve” which I agree with based on our income generation and available budget inline with ffp. The plan seems plausible based on Broughton’s interview. The big question is will he have the autonomy and power to execute it?

I’m definitely curious and excited to see the impending changes. I don’t think many (if any) of us had heard of Gregg Broughton beforehand and the likes of JDT and Delia seemed a million miles from our initial thoughts too (I didn’t even know JDT was a manager, though I remembered him as a player). If this is the partnership moving forwards the. I’ll give it my full backing. Ideally I’d have liked a Farke or Carvalhal but those aside I’d much prefer a GB / JDT appointment than if they’d wheeled out Adkin’s or Pardew. Who knows how good or bad it will be. What it will be, 100% is a change and after 5yrs of Mowbray, I’m looking forwards to it. Be good to get preseason up and running and maybe a couple of ‘left field’ type signings.

Ahh well, let’s all just give up then and not bother even trying to enjoy the summer. Come on mate, surely you can find a bit of positivity with the change? And before you point to the past, the past doesn’t dictate the future. Every situation is temporary, there will be better days. We attract the things we believe…if you don’t believe me look at the people who ‘liked’ your post… We all have choices. I choose to live in hope because it means I can enjoy the ride. If I’m to be disappointed at the end (like missing out on the playoffs last season) then I can’t control that but at least I had a good time getting to that point. So, maybe I am jumping the gun, I’m excited by the new change and interested as to how things might unfold. So what? I don’t care about being vulnerable to disappointment and I’m aware of the potential to be let down. It’s my choice to frame it the way I do.

I think we can… Firstly, we don’t know the budget (I’d like to think a new management team might’ve negotiated a similar budget to the one TM had a couple of years ago - one that allowed him to speculate with purchases like - BBD, SG, AA). Seconndly - If they’re aiming to be “a sustainable Premier League football club” going down the Brentford route, that involves buying low, selling high and then reinvesting chunky portions of the cash so that you continue to improve the team. And finally, if all of the above never came to fruition, my point about excitement on transfers was mainly focused on the fact that a new management team will naturally look in different places for different profiles of players based on their opinion and experience, as opposed to the old regime. Regardless of cost.

I watched it too…he’s very very focused. My feeling is that if they give him the autonomy he needs, he will deliver what they want with bells on! Its also clear that there’s not going to be loads of cash. He referred to two separate clubs where he’s been able to generate millions of pounds in income and still delivered the goals. It looks like he will focus on youth development and clever player trading to generate cash like Brentford. Fair play, the first time in 12yrs that the vision seems clear and reasonable.

Eh? I’m not making any decisions….we’ve also still got Ainsworth and Warne on the table and I don’t necessarily see the fit with them? But the way I see it, what’s the point (unless you’re a half wit) in coming on here regurgitating the same bilge and insisting on this or that before signing off “Venkys out” 🙈 I’m looking at the situation in context and with GB as DoF, when I look at the candidates being talked about, those two seem a good fit….could I be wrong? Sure!…and??

No, I’ve employed a lot of people in my time (Pronably more than Waggot). Many many times I’ve been in the dark during the process and yet it’s rarely taken over 4 weeks and what I’ve learned is to keep it simple because people in general are complex. There can be no guarantees who will be successful because there are so many variables. Cooper had shown nothing at Swansea to suggest he’d take Chris Hughtons (Serial Champ winner) Forest up. Scott Parker has many blotches on his CV, as does Silva who looks clueless every time we see him in the Prem. Alternatively, Jokanovic starting the season at Sheff United looked absolutely nailed on as a top manager appointment whilst Farke has as many failings as successes on his CV and Carvalhal (the ‘other’ chosen one is apparently much the whore and will go anywhere for an extra bob or two…he also has ZERO championship promotions. So, whilst I respect your opinion, I have no idea who has promised you / us an ‘experienced’ man. We had one of those in the previous incumbent, which didn’t work out. For me, I’d want to see a full process followed of application, cv review, first and second interviews etc - but should one of my final candidates be personally recommended by a managerial God like Carlo Ancelotti, that would create a huge sway in my mind on top of the knowledge I’d gained. Especially if the candidate had impressed me. Theres nothing over zealous or premature about a 4wk+ process. None of us are privy to the full information but I hate inertia and am prepared to tip quicker than most. So yeah, if Carlo is backing Big Dunc, I’d be open to giving him a chance over wheeling out yet another ‘safe pair of hands’ and boring the shit out of everyone!

What makes you so sure it spells disaster? Ferguson is pretty well thought of as is Unsworth and Walsh was arguably the most sought after DoF in English football when he left Leicester? Sounds like an interesting mix if it were to materialise 🤷🏽♂️ There’s tons of ‘tried and tested’ who fail too! Personally I’d be open for Ferguson, Carrick, Manning, Ainsworth and any of the foreign coaches - I feel we need something fresh and new. Want us to stay away from yesterdays men like Adkin’s, Pardew
