Bell didn’t show any natural ability going forward last season. It does seem lined up to have Williams at the left of a three and Bell getting up and down the pitch but he has a lot to prove. The final third seemed like foreign soil to him.

Bell looked very comfortable in the final third and looked a natural wing-back.

Don't understand this "the squad is so much better than when we went down" argument.

The rump of this squad took us Down. The argument seems to me to be based solely on the assumption that the likes of Raya Smallwood and Dack will be so much better than Steele Lowe and what we had before etc we'll be ok.

That may well turn out to be true but  it's placing a massive burden on Dack in particular. Up front Conway and Graham are both 2 years older than the last time they took us down and I'd say Samuel and Nuttall are even weaker options than Gallagher and Emnes who both looked decent at various points.

Coyle took us down. Mowbray did well in the Championship with squad he inherited. Context dear boy.

    For me it would be...
    1- New striker

    2- Danny Graham

    3- Mo Eisa?

    4- Samuel

Nuttall would go out on loan.

Because it is often a good idea not to restrict yourself to one formation throughout the season, with no ability to change things up should the original formation not work?

Mowbray will stick to whatever formation gets results. It's a bit football manager to think he'll be swapping formations often enough to justify having 4 strikers when the vast majority of last season we played 1 up front. Furthermore who is going to sign on the basis of being 4th choice if they are a y good?

It gets worse really. Croatia has a population of 4m, fewer than the number of people in Lancashire, not 8m as previously stated. It's the smallest country to reach the WC Final.  And we're patting ourselves on the back for getting to the semis.

    Not really relevant.

They had skilful guys who also don't take a backward step. They got in our faces in the second half and we couldn't handle it.

We couldn't handle it because we had no one who could take care of the ball.. Modric and the guy from Barca are world class players and knew how to control possession. We don't have anyone of that quality.

I've been saying it for weeks, it's not hindsight. Our lads allowed themselves to be pushed around physically by Croatia tonight. It's all very being nice boys but there are times when you have to fight fire with fire. We've nobody who has a reputation for being a hard case out there. The Premier League is a league for wimps and divers I'm afraid.

Nonsense. It had nothing to do with hard men or tough guys. It was to do with players like a Modric et al being wonderful footballers.

The teams that started the second half were exactly the same as the team's in the first half. We were dominant in the first half. Then they changed their way of playing  and we didn't deal with it until it was too late.

Quality always outs. We ran ourselves into the ground 1st half. 2nd half we had nothing left.

Not mediocre. Very good team that lacked experience. Croatia's golden generation are on their last legs..our young team is a work in progress. Hopefully foden, sancho etc can fill in those midfield positions in the near future..i thought young was shocking and rose made us a lot more balanced.  Rashford was also a lot better than sterling.  Pickford. Maguire. Trippier kane and walker were standout this tournament..and maybe stones

England are an average team who got lucky in the much easier side of the draw in a poor quality, but very watchable, World Cup.

I was going to reply but islander200 sum my response perfectly..

How many games did Rhodes play at Boro after his move?

How many games did Hanley play at Newcastle after his move?

Rhodes, Hanley and Marshall wanted out of the club.

All three have done a lot better than Rovers have since they left.

Perhaps if he does say who has told him and it comes out, the position who has told him may be put in an awkward position?

As it stands he's just a bloke saying Rovers are in for him. He doesn't have to name anyone, just how he knows. For example 'someone at the club' 'a journalist'. I posted it could well be Rovers based on the posh chairman's tweets days before callumrovers posted about it. It's easy to claim to be ITK.
