  1. Rovers still looking to add 1 maybe 2 loan signings before the window closes.
Strange thing is I reckon we are still looking at a forward to stand in for Samuel (long term injury), I know the club are nervous about our goalkeeping options should Raya pick up a knock and our center-back options are also still a concern.

Goal keeper loan needed. Imagine Raya injured eeeek not a great thought.

Still think we are light at CB as well. God forbid Leninhan or Mulgrew pick up injuries. But hey... Not like they have a record of season ending injuries is it? ?

  3. With all this talk of players coming in. It's easy to forget that there might be departures on loan.

    - Peter Whittingham - surely must be about to depart not even making the subs bench against Lincoln City
    - Paul Caddis - must be available
    - Ben Gladwin - if he can get fit before the window closes he could go out on loan
    - Joe Nuttall - expect him to go out on loan although could be made less likely by Samuel's injury
    - Paul Downing - could have been loaned out if we'd managed to sign a CB on loan
    - Lewis Travis - with Reed coming in, would seem a loan would do him some good
    - Willem Tomlinson - needs to gain 1st team competitive experience out on loan
    - Sam Hart - didn't even make the squad vs Lincoln City?
    - Andy Fisher - again... If he's not involved in cup games then he really should be looking for a loan move

  4. Very interesting that Sam Hart and Peter Whittingham don't even make the squad against Lincoln. No mention of any injuries as far as I can see.
Hart has been on the bench over the last few games in the Championship so raises question marks why he wouldn't be given a runout this evening.
I expect Whittingham will terminate his contract by mutual consent or the club are looking for another club to take him on a free. Hart will likely go out on loan now we have cover.

  5. If Samuel is going to be set for an extended period in the treatment room. It couldn't hurt to bring in someone until January surely?
Sam Gallagher on loan until January could be an incredibly shrewd move. Especially if we loaned out Nuttall with a recall come January.

Sam Gallagher could offer us a more complete forward option.

The fact he’s 19. If he was 28 and i saw that compilation i would agree.

This is it. If he looks a solid Championship player now (age 19). Imagine how he will look after a couple of years 1st team experience.

Next summer we'll have 13 people who are out of contract or end of loan. These are:

Paul Caddis, Sam Hart, Paul Downing, Charlie Mulgrew, Corry Evans, Craig Conway, Peter Whittingham, Danny Graham, Ben Gladwin, Kasey Palmer, Jack Rodwell, Joe Nuttall and Harrison Reed.

We will have Raya, Nyambe, Lenihan, Bell, Williams, Rothwell, Davenport, Samuel, Smallwood, Travis, Dack, Armstrong and possibly Brereton under long term contract.

So approximately half the squad will be gone in the next 9 months as it stands.

I think it needs to be much more heavily weighted towards a small number being let go and the majority here beyond then.

I expect Caddis, Hart, Whittingham and Gladwin will leave come the end of the season.
Rovers will offer new contracts to Mulgrew, Evans and possibly Rodwell depending on how well he does.
Downing, Conway and Graham have options for a further 12 months on their contract.
Again, Palmer and Reed might be subject to bids by Rovers depending how well they do this season. Granted I think we will struggle to sign either.
Nuttall signed a new contract last January that will keep him at the club until 2021.

  8. Why would we sell him as a proven footballer for £10 million when we are spending over £6 million on Brereton who is largely unproven.

If Dack goes for anywhere under £17 million then the club may as well remain where it is right now. Ie: The Championship.

A previous comment said that they could see Dack in the Premier League in 2020. Wouldn't it be nice if he was in a Blackburn Rovers shirt.

Show some ambition and retain players of good quality. Sometimes it is better to deprive yourself of a few transfers to peak the excitement and hold on to a good proven footballer who makes the world of difference.

dont think we need this harrison reed though would like a wideman or two , or another striker,   evans is looking immense and i would like bennet in the centre and travis rodwell to cover the midfield with rodwell covering cb aswell

Having a couple of injuries and then looking at the bench shows that we are lacking in numbers.

I still hope Reed comes in as an option.

I can't help but feel we could do with a backup attack minded midfielder to compensate if Dack picks up an injury.

  10. It won't be a £6 million fee in total. It will be £6 million initial payment with more to be paid upon reaching certain milestones such as appearances and goals scored. I'm willing to bet there will be a sell on fee with additional fees to be paid should he be selected for international matches etc...

A couple of months ago Mowbray was quoted as saying something along the lines of "we are interested in players, but then you get other teams coming in bidding 5,6,7 million, we can't spend that kind of money" then all of a sudden we are led to believe that we've bid upto £8mil on Brereton, £4mil on freeman and are still after Bauer, followed by us signing a free agent. Just doesn't make any sense.

It does if you reduce the number of players coming in, or quality to rework saved wages and transfer fee into a singular transfer fee for one player.
