  1. LD - you dont need to do the Garden Crawl now... Terrorvision = Awesome.. Look out for Laika Dog !!! It is Tony Wrights new band... playing *cough* Bumley on Wednesday, which is most inconsiderate as i'm in bloody Turkey.
  2. Gav would need to stand on it to be on eye level with most Rovers fans
  3. Couldn't agree more Rosie, apparently it's all to do with irony. More than anyone else they remind me of Love Fist (fictional British 80's metal outfit in GTA Vice City). Just bought the new Four Tet album (deeply odd, but in a good way) and "Something Wicked This Way Comes" by The Herbaliser, which is the business. Ok, the Darkness sound like a dodgy 70's metal band. Its a lot different from all those who want to sound like bad 60's bands like the Strokes, White Stripes, Kings of Leon and their countless clones that keep jumping on the bandwagon.
  4. After slating him last week, Its only fair to say that this weeks column is pretty good. Nice to see a pop at Beckham, Saint and Greavsie as well.
  5. Just got back, should not have lost that one. Hit the underside of the bar once in each half, and Grabbis penalty came off the inside of the post. Barker showed some good touches, but didnt quite have the first touch. Yelldell should have done better with Leeds winner, although it was a good powerful strike from distance to be fair. Back to top Alan Mahon was lively, Harkins sent off earlyish for 2 bookable offences, Winter went for a professional foul bringing Keith Barker down just outside the box.
  6. I'm sure that Wally has enough problems already finding enough material to fill one column, never mind one on here Bearing in mind that the LET sports desk is Dingle dominated, Revidge probably got binned for upstaging Cummings too many times, and the LET have searched high and low for somebody who would be incapable of taking advantage.
  7. Afraid so Phil Ah, we have a *true blue* going to games now. At least Revidge attends them, whatever you think of his comments. Mind you, it does appear very similar in content to Mr Cummings effort the previous week where he described going to a pub to watch a game. Perhaps Jason wants to prove that he too is old enough to go to the pub. It appears our new correspondant managed to find people with the same amount of footballing acumen as himself in this pub. Then of course, Mr Wally managed to then get a dig in at the drummer. Although the chances of the drummer walking in when he was 250 miles away actually watching the match were rather remote.
  8. Did they mime like when I saw them earlier in the year ?? p.s Metallica Indoor tour this december - first confirmed date Earls Court 20th Dec...
  9. I only got the Friday in. but Metallica were as professional as usual, even though they missed out One from their set list (probably due to all the messing around fixing the safety barriers) System of a Down surprised me, considering I dont normally like their stuff. Hell is For Heroes in the Radio 1 stage stole the show for me though.
  10. Possibly, I can think of a couple of other alternatives. a) Transported to Australia posting on here as Samuel Dingle Not much point in cummings articles, surely it would be more relevant to Burnley fans if you gave them something to colour in.
  11. Perhaps he should rename his Ewood Eye column to "A letter from America" I heard that on the Plane back from Dublin that some people congratulated him on making this foriegn trip
  12. Jason Whalley has written 2 columns so far, I'd give him time to settle before its fair to criticise him. Revidge didnt always get it right, and perhaps the sports teams are editing his columns like they did with Simons. That said they are a bit bland at the moment, and he has a lot to live up to. As for how he lost the column - Revidge must have upset the sports team somehow. Perhaps he told Andy Neild that you don't need a work visa to report on the Washington DC game.
  13. Posting on here probably didnt help you Simon, after all the LET do read this site.
  14. Its looking like Kirsty Gallachers or JD's beside the train station about 50 metres from the Carlisle Grounds. After match - Temple Bar in (strangely enough) Temple Bar seems good.
  15. JD's appears to be a good one for Bray itself.
  16. The Darkness rock... New gigs at Manchester Apollo just gone on sale. Overrated bands are the White Stripes and the Strokes. On LeChucks different subject, I'm at Leeds only on the 22nd.
  17. Why you going there then
  18. Now the really important things Which pubs are we going in
  19. No, i'm just going for the football
  20. The album sounds like utter s***, a 5 year old could have produced it better with a dictaphone and a couple of bricks. The DVD does sound much better, and I can imagine some of the songs (esp Invisible Kid) work really well live.
  21. The Antipope, East of Ealing, Brenford Triangle, or any of the 5 part Brentford Trilogy. The armageddon series can be hard to read if you've not read any of his stuff before.
  22. Brilliant book anything by Terry Pratchett based in the discworld is a good bet, If you want a holiday book, try any of Lee Child's Reacher Novels, good action thrillers. Also Nelson DeMile is worth a look. Who wrote Armageddon the Musical? - now theres a great book - Elvis Lives Robert Rankin. Top bloke as well, went for a few ales with him after his last Manchester book signing.
  23. Rovers U-19 Team have won the National U-19s title against Aston Villa A 0-0 Draw at Villa Park tonight, to follow up the 5-3 victory at Ewood last week was sufficient. Bobby Downes’s U19 players tonight played a game out of the Colin Hendry, Henning Berg coaching manual when they ground out a goal less draw against Aston Villa to claim the U19 Championship. Defending a 5-3 lead from last weeks home leg, Blackburn’s academy players were'nt prepared to let a determined Villa side snatch the trophy from their grasp. Villa went close to scoring early in the game, creating a string of chances in the first half but couldn’t find a way through a resolute Blackburn defence. In the second half Rovers played a possession game allowing Villa few chances, although Villa did hit the woodwork late on and Rovers also had to clear one attempt off the line. After leading the league for most of the season it was a fitting finale for the U19 to finish the season as Champions. news update 23-15
  24. I'm going with Lee though I don't know any details. I'm leaving it all to him Talk about the blind leading the blind
