Good news that Dolan, Rankin Costello (and in relative terms) Pears will be back.

Shame we'll be weakened by the return of Hedges and Gallagher though. Offloading the latter, even if only to get him off the wage bill should have been a number one priority - but no let's sell some useful players instead.

How much is Gallagher on wage wise? Was it 15k?

Just think of the quality loanie we could get with that for next season.

    - I think something along these lines was mentioned earlier, but The Athletic is reporting that we've had two loan bids rejected for Orlando City striker Duncan McGuire, and are expected to be make a third loan bid (amid interest from FC Nantes, FC Utrecht, and RWD Molenbeek): https://theathletic.com/5177729/2024/01/04/mls-january-transfer-window/ (might be paywalled). 15 goals over 37 appearances in his rookie MLS season.

    - On O'Riordan's incoming, worth noting he's cup-tied for the FA Cup. May relate to the debate on holding on to Hill for one more weekend. Doubt we'd want to risk Hyam and presumably S. Wharton won't be ready. Perhaps time for Gamble... Such a shame that Barnes got hit with another long-term injury.

    - It's spread across L1/L2/Scottish Championship, but notable that O'Riordan's actually accumulated a decent amount of pro experience for his age: 76 league/cup appearances (+ a bit of non-league!)

I know we’re desperate but just watched a highlight reel and he looks awful…Has all the attributes that Gallagher has but even more of a donkey touch.

    No!!!! Similar colour shirt

Suffolk, I've heard is a lovely place

And if what I've heard is true it's a surprise

Fair play, he’s got more chance of being in the prem next season than us. At least he has no worries of getting paid.

if he goes the money has to go back into 2 more players to replace him.

    The article...

The High Court of Delhi has set a date for Venkateshwara Hatcheries Private Limited's latest application to push through funding for Blackburn Rovers.

Rovers are officially owned by Venky's London Limited, which falls under the umbrella of parent company VHPL.

VHPL has been involved in a row with the Indian government and had assets worth £7.3m seized, relating to money used to purchase a luxury house in Lancashire in 2011.

In October, a further order was made by India’s Enforcement Directorate to seize £2.3m of assets as part of 'an investigation relating to alleged violation of the foreign exchange law'.

As a result, the club have endured cash flow problems since the summer, with the transfer budget cut by 15 per cent. Rovers still signed two players for fees during the last transfer window but deals are being approved on an ad-hoc basis.

It has been tougher for Venky's to push through funding from India and, as a result, they have used the High Court to ensure that the club remains fully supported.

In November, the High Court of Dehli approved an application for £11.5million to be transferred for Roverso, in order to meet their financial obligations.

That money was accounted to cover wages of playing and non-playing staff, utilities, VAT and the repayment of loans. The money was used to cover the club's costs and was not allowed to be spent on transfer activity.

The court was satisfied that “the function of the club is not yet under any cloud of suspicion” and therefore the money was allowed to pass through.

Another date has been set by the High Court after VHPL put through another application to release funding. That will be heard at the end of the month on the 24th of January.

Rovers expect the application to be successful, as it was in November. Once again, any funding released through these channels will be accounted for and won't be directly used to bolster Tomasson's squad.

The club have always maintained that Venky's remain fully committed to Blackburn Rovers and this latest application shows they still intend to fund the club.

However, there are fair questions to be asked about how sustainable this process will be in the long term. There has not been any clarity on how long the restrictions in India will last for and whether the investigations are close to a conclusion.

Tomasson has spoken openly about the cash flow problems at the club, which has left him with a lighter playing squad this season. The team has also not been able to fly to long-distance matches, something the head coach has linked to the budget cuts.

So reading this there’s a ‘chance’ we will get funds but not until 24th January?

O’Riordan must be waiting for better offers if he’s yet to sign.

I would have expected some more news by now.

Can’t imagine too many teams interested in him…Then again it won’t take much for him to go elsewhere.

It will be no doubt be waiting for sign off under the current budget.

Too quick out the blocks, That tempo is not sustainable over 90 minutes. Similar to the game against Bristol city where we had it under control and puffed out around the hour Mark. Beautiful to watch at times, if only we can get that game management balance right. Telalovic again unlucky not to score but his link up play brought another dynamic to the game. I might get some stick for this but I feel we are only a few tweeks off something special.

I’m 100% happy in what I see in Telalovic. When he scores i think he’ll crack on annd get a few. He’s streets ahead of all our current strikers in my opinion…

For all the talk of of strikers, one massive thing were missing is pace. There isn't any in the entire Squad. Dolan and Markandaay look nippy but their top speed isn't fast. Moran looks a more like a poor mans Milner type wide player. Surely one of the reasons we concede so late is that when put under pressure we don't have anyone to make defenders worry on the counter and so get boxed in.

If we cant get a striker in a fast wide player on loan would be next in line.

Where did Dembele from bournemouth go? Didnt we nearly get him on loan last summer?

We’ve not had any pace since Rothwell - Rothwell would of been the perfect player for JDT…
