I don't think Eustice is the answer - he's a relative rookie still and we need experience.

Now isn't the time to be taking risks.

If Fowler gets anywhere near the job, I'm genuinely out (and never returning).

Nixon clearly has no idea at all. After all, he backed Kean as a 'gem' right to the death.
He'll report whatever certain people pay him to report.

Andy, genuine question? Who would you be happy with? I understand the possible risks with Eustace but I can’t see anyone else (more qualified) to want to come to Ewood.

    Such a weird feeling this.

A bad run of form means JDT needed to go. As a result you bring in, for me, a decent replacement but i just can't get excited because of what the board have done this past year. If we announce Eustace all would think ewood would be rocking on Saturday or at least a positive atmosphere...It will be far from it.

I hope Eustace knows what he's rolling into - I will back him but Waggot the worm needs to go!

Has anyone considered that by taking the flak last season, GB effectively made his position untenable SHOULD the same thing ever happen again. I don’t think many people genuinely believe it was him who made the ‘error’, but in an effort to either protect the team OR feeling as the DOF it was ultimately his responsibility, he took the bullet.

12 months on and through an extraordinary coincidence the exact same thing happens again, leaving GB with nowhere to go but resign.

I’m not one for conspiracies but we know that there is clearly civil war ongoing between the old guard and the new….

Yeap, there’s just no way, in his profession,  that he makes this kind of mistake in the space of a year.

People said that Venkys 'rejected' bids for Rothwell and Diaz in a bid to get what they wanted or help the team to promotion. I don't believe they did, I just don't think they approved those sales in sufficient time for them to go ahead.

People said that the O'Brien deal was a transfer paperwork cock up by Broughton, Silvestre, Waggott. I don't believe so, I think authorisation couldn't be obtained from India in time to allow it to complete before the deadline. Looks like the same with McGuire.

People said that the owners had decided to change path from Mowbray which is why they let him go. I don't believe so, I think his contract ran out, they failed to do anything about it until even Mowbray got fed up with them and walked.

It is this silence and complete and utter indifference to the fortunes of their football club that saw Kean wreak havoc for years, that has seen a hollowing out of the club and decaying infrastructure, that saw Mowbray plod on the road to nowhere for 5 years, that sees Waggott sitting in an office he should be nowhere near and still on the gravy train after 6 years.

    They are responsible.

    Couldn’t agree more JH

So a loan-to-buy (with a multi-million £ commitment) has failed to go through twice in twelve months when we've been suffering under financial problems due to the Venky's tax fraud... and you don't think someone at the club is deliberately sabotaging deals?

    Ok.

If I had to guess how this went down - Broughton set up the original transfer for McGuire. It got to Pune and they said "no, you can't spend any of the Wharton money". He then tries to rescue the deal (and get around that stipulation) with a loan-to-buy for the summer and generates the loan fee by selling Ennis. Obviously then someone in India says "no", but it's too late and the deal is already in motion... so they have to sabotage the paperwork AGAIN.

I don't think we paid a loan fee for the French CB or Ayari. We're literally dealing exclusively in freebies and free loans. The Venkys do not know if the Indian government will ever let them put any money in again - that Wharton transfer fee is going to be swallowed up in running costs as we all predicted.

I not agreeing or disagreeing with you here but if the sabotage thing was to be true…Surely professionals like GB would have jumped ship by now? Other than maggot and suhail who would put up with that?  JDT tried to jump ship in the summer but looks like we managed to persuade him to stay.

Yep.  Both could be correct. If GB goes tomorrow I suspect JDT knew hence why  he wasn’t mentioned.

If he doest’t go then I suspect JDT is showing us where the blame lies.

JDT has been saying his “ask Greg” tag line the whole time he’s been here

Him giving Maggot and Suhails names tell us all we need to know.

I will be really annoyed if it’s GB who has left.

Taking Broughton in isolation, he should have gone after last January. Let's not make a martyr out of somebody who has overseen the same schoolboy error three times in the space of a year. He's the Director of Football. Not an intern learning on the job. A professional outfit wouldn't have let those shenanigans go, and here we are again with the same thing one year on.

Surely you don’t believe he was at fault for all 3?? He’s been fed to the wolves.

Waggot and Pasha are the men that needed to go first!
