I’ve sort of put all my eggs in one basket.
I don’t rate Waggott - at all. I don’t think he has the best interests of the club at heart and think he’s more interested in ticking boxes than ambition. So I’ve long called for change, especially on the footballing side so I was happy when Broughton was brought in.
I didn’t rate Mowbray. I thought he was an eternal loser, that was stuck in his own ways, consistently unhappy and blamed others for his own errors. So I was happy to see him leave - about 3 years too late in my opinion.
Gregg Broughton has at least has been consistent about ‘the project’ and whilst it’s different, at least he clearly has a plan and props to him for sticking to it. His messaging hasn’t ever changed.
Broughton has signed his own manager, JDT, who clearly is aligned to ‘the project’ and has his own thoughts of how we should play football. JDT has had more success than any of our previous managers both as a player and a manager, he’s forgotten more about football than I’ll ever know.
So if I start mobbing against GB and JDT now, I’m a hypocrite! They are - in principle - exactly what I’ve asked for. So I’ll judge them after a few years if that’s the benchmark they’re being judged against.
Unlike many on here I don’t think this squad is anywhere near the level required. When the first 11 are all on form they’re a decent side, but as soon as a couple are injured or out of form we’re a lower mid table team.
How dare you be realistic

Nice and Sevilla bid 8.4 million and Fulham made a bid of 6 mil with 4 mil in add ons.
Everton didn't make a bid from what we know
Look at this
Deniz Undav Skills, Goals & Assists | HD - YouTube
We do have a head of European scout at the club in Luke Griffin.
You mean some losers have made a video welcoming Undav to galatasaray before he’s even signed for them?

the usual reaction from our players is, we don't give a fuck.
I’m not sure it’s this, more that it looks that way because they’re not even that sure how to implement plan A, so when a plan B is needed they just don’t have a clue what to do. That mostly falls at the managers feet unfortunately.

Hyam and Porteous with Carter Wharton and Phillips as back up? Pretty solid collection of CBs
Now time to work on every other position…

He fits the bill of Hedges style signings ie players with 6 months left on their deals. But a centre back is right down the list of priorities.
Depends on how Hyam is…

If we don’t sign a central striker and a midfielder we will slowly slide down and stay 12th in the table.
That feels like an inevitable anyway. I don’t think 2 new players will be enough.

We also signed Dack, Hyam, BBD, Gally, Hedges, Dolan, Kmainski, Ayala, Brittain etc
It seems strange to use Edun as an example when he rarely gets in the team/match day squad and is clearly not in the managers plans.
Fits the agenda..

The lad might be decent, the underwhelming aspect for me is it’s another centre midfielder of short stature when everyone has noticed that we get bullied in midfield and are crying out for someone who can bully back. This guy doesn’t look like he’d be that but happy to be proven wrong

Come on Rich, where are you? We need you to piss on this underwhelming bonfire

I completely agree, think there's a very good player in Mola, he lacks confidence and needs to play in his right position.
What is his right position?

He only started in 8 of those games to be fair.
Was at Wigan on loan previously, so would seem a stall in his progression if you go back to the same level/club on loan 2 or 3 years later.
Think he came through their youth ranks and then Leeds signed him after Wigan’s financial disaster. Might be what swings it for him going back “home”. Was going to say he probably won’t get many chances to feed off of there, but it’s pretty similar at Rovers…

According to social media outlets Wigan favourites for Geldhardt......they doing bits in the window.
While I’d definitely take Gelhardt, signing Caulker and an Arsenal youngster wouldn’t jump out at me as top business

What have we done? What are we even doing? We are 3rd in the league FFS. It’s total embarrassment! we have needed another striker/ midfielder since before the season started. Why the hell have we no one in yet? Do they know there are games to be played during this window?
The top of our club are utterly clueless!!!! We will venture nowhere with them VENKYS OUT.
Jesus Christ, we’re a week into January. We’ve not even played a game since the first day of the window and won’t play a league one for another week. The obsession, and anger, fans have with transfer window activity is a bit much at times

Not always, what you have to do is win your battle. You then give a simple ball to one of your players who can find a pass.
Fair enough if you think you’ve seen enough in him for that role. Speaking subjectively he’s looked barely good enough for league one to me, in any position

Really surprised by that response from what (little) Ive seen of Mola. What have you seen that makes you think he's best as a left sided midfielder?
Agreed. You have to be able to pass the ball to play left midfield don’t you??

Maybe, but I also think it's fair to say a lot of people are looking at things through JDT-tinted glasses at the moment as well, failing to criticise him for things that TM was criticised for, and instead putting more emphasis on the players being at fault. I get it, it's the hope that kills you and all that, but imo there's a bit of both going on.
Certainly not defending JDT too much. We’ve mostly won games by accident it feels. Guess there’s two ways of looking at it, either that’s a really good thing for a team who SHOULD improve more and more with new additions and time with a new system in general or the style of play just isn’t very good and we’ve been extremely fortunate to accrue the points we have now. I’m still not sure which side of that I go along with

Not convinced Brittain is any better than Nyambe, and seems to be made of the same kind of glass. Jury's out for me on that one.
Hyam has indeed been an excellent signing, but balanced out somewhat by the sharp regression of Scott Wharton.
I personally felt people were looking at Wharton through blue and white glasses last season, which is understandable. His form this season isn’t that different to last, let’s remember he was a constant in a team that was diabolical in the 2nd half of last season. He was gifting the ball to the opposition as much last season, even without the stupid incessant passing around at the back of this season. All that said, hope he turns it around and becomes the solid defender he’s shown himself to be at times

Walcott being touted for a loan move to the Championship. Would take him for a season if wage contribution wasn’t too high. Good pro to have around, could surely offer something.
