"if" he does that well then he's worth what Armstrong and Brereton are/were valued at and we've done well

But the key word is "if".

    Like Gallagher you mean?l

But that’s the nature of the market at the moment for the Championship. How many teams have signed an out and out goalscorer permanently? There won’t be many.

It’s always a risk. At least we’re trying before we’re buying. If it doesn’t work, we don’t pay. Better than having someone on the books that we’ve massively paid over the odds for and can’t hit a a barn door.

Led to believe Ross Barkley is a name we will be hearing more often..

Player fancies it especially with it being close to home so no proper relocation required..

1 year deal with the option for a further based on appearances, player feels it will be a similar situation to MGW at Sheff United last season given a solid season he will be back in the Prem even if Rovers aren't promoted.

JDT promised a 'Marquee' signing by Gregg to kick-start the 'project', The family back in Pune are said to be happy to put some of the BBD money towards his wages.. with the view for him to be announced Thursday morning and BBD set to depart Thursday afternoon.

RB due to Brockhall tomorrow morning to be shown round and if happy complete a medical.

    What’s that smell…?

No real chances created. Huffed and puffed a bit in the second half, but never looked like scoring.

Campbell powering through the midfield past Wharton and Morton who couldn't get near him is a sign of things to come. Men against boys. Wharton did ok, overall, he has something about him, but it's unfair to expect him to play a big role at this stage.

JDT looked lost on the touchline. Just sad to see that at full time. The reality is the club will never move forward while these owners remain incharge.

Men against boys is it. How long have we gone without a real proper big bastard to dominate the midfield?

Van Hecke is the best CB to have played for the club in the last 10 years IMO. Easily worth 8m - I reckon we could get him for 4-5 tho

As I said, loved him. I just remember being at that Wigan cup game when we played 2 at the back, as we did against Fulham when he got the red and he looked suspect in both. If the plan is to play 3 cbs then I’ll go pick him up myself

Yep Rovers were badly tactically outdone last night they had a clear plan to target certain weak links so it should be a loud clear red flag to JDT and GB.

I don't think they've had one yet since they arrived, a even harder day looms on Saturday imo.

I’d pinpointed this weekends game as our first defeat of the season after the first 3 wins. The fact we’re heading there after being hammered by a dire Reading team fills me with all sorts of dread and an expectation of a pummelling. They’ll stick Sharp on Phillips and he’ll have a torrid time.

    Injured, fortunately.

I'd share your worries had their injury list not been as terrible as it is. There's a chance they won't have a single senior outfield player on the bench - we should be beating them really.

Their injury problems are that bad?? Wow. Getting that feeling I got before the Hull game at the end of last year (before it got postponed and our season nosedived)

I don't think he is a Rovers fan to be honest, although I could be wrong.

Don't get me wrong, I would also be gutted if he were to go for peanuts, and I posted a couple of days ago that I think he should do (for his own sake) something similar to what Bellingham did at Birmingham.

All I'm saying is that whilst he does owe us to an extent for the work we've put in behind the scenes, it's potentially a big gamble in the face of a (potentially) huge financial offer from a club that competes for Champions League places. If we were to sell him now then we would likely get a couple of million or him, which is obviously a snip compared to his value, but is a fair return on the investment that we've put in to develop him.

I think he could leave with a fairly clean conscience in those circumstances - even if the system itself is rigged. Hopefully it'll all be academic anyway because he'll sign the new deal and we can start building the statue!

From Manchester and not a Rovers fan. Rovers picked him up early teens, was told Crystal Palace were the main other team in for him at the time but obviously Rovers made more sense for a lad still at school in Manchester
