I'll be travelling solo to this one. Any decent pubs nearby?

I suppose most don't see it as an essential part of the kit. Don't see them on most shirts off the pitch these days.

Saw the 2nd half. We played well, looked good. Both fullbacks were impressive. Cracker of a goal by Grayson, hope he can find a way to utilise that left foot at senior level. Great closing down, centre mids (Whyte and?) looked dynamic and composed. Goalie (Fisher?) made a great reflex save at the end.

Firstly I'm not happy but I haven't snapped yet, I'd still keep Mowbray - he's earned some good will in my eyes.
If he makes a solid centre back out of Williams that is a masterstroke. If Downing comes good that is a great move. If Gallagher can contribute like he did yesterday that's a great asset. Johnson is a beast and we've needed one for a while. Travis has come in and looked class. Cunnigham is a big upgrade.
The potential is there for us all to see which is frustrating. I'd like to see Rothwell starting more for instance. However, credit deserved for getting us into this position. Hopefully we can crack on now and play with confidence. Hull is big in terms of momentum now.

Tyler Magloire is joining Rochdale on loan
Surely that means we're signing another Cb? ?

Mulgrew very poor.
Both full backs useless.
Johnson and Travis look a great pairing.
Downing has really disappointed me so far bar a few decent cross-field balls. He could have stopped the attack for the goal and should have scored himself. Hasn't added anything so far.
Armstrong and Dack have looked lively although dack is playing a deeper role than usual.
Gallagher has threatened to threaten.
We were the better side but have a lot of weaknesses. Most can be cured with what we already have.

Half the team look great. The other half look terrible. I think you can guess who is in which category. 0-1 is unlucky but deserved in some ways.
-
Very impressed with Johnson he's bossing everyone around and looks solid as a rock.

Should have been 1-0 Downing missed a great chance, off balance. Dack is up for it.

Very positive start. Gallagher missed a chance to volley in from an Armstrong cross. Downing on the right. Lots of cross field diagonal balls. Johnson looks a beast.

Now that McGuire has joined Man U, whether there is a chance Tuanzebe gets loaned out
If he does I can't see him coming here to partner city's young centre back personally...

I predict we will see the below:
Walton
Nyambe lenihan mulgrew Downing
Travis Johnson
Gallagher Dack Rothwell
Graham
With us being at home Downings deliveries into Graham and Gallagher should be handy with skill on the ball from Dack, Rothwell and Travis hopefully being enough to break Charlton down. Mulgrew will get his last chance at the start of this season to prove he still has it (or has got it back).
3-1 Rovers. COYB!!!

Those quotes basically say to me that Mowbray and recruitment have been doing buggar all but waiting for Adarabioyo to sign for 3 weeks.
"Now he has signed we go again" (or words to that nature)
That cant be true... No wonder we get hardly any of our/the top rated targets.
He said similar earlier in the window too if I remember correctly, it made me wonder at the time but I dismissed the thought. Now though...

One of the names I have heard (from a journo and somebody in the sport) is not on your list because his contract expires in 2021. I don't think we have a chance of signing him due to his reputation and credentials. He currently plays in 2. Bundesliga after relegation last season and looking at his data on Transfermarkt his market value is huge. He's got mixed nationality and played up until this year in the German U21 team and has been a nailed on 1st teamer for his side.
If we pulled off that signing it would be an amazing coup. But cannot see it happening myself.https://www.transfermarkt.com/waldemar-anton/profil/spieler/193004
Waldemar Anton?
Apparently he had a poor season last time round which contributed to Hannovers relegation but remains highly regarded generally by the fans who know he is capable of more. Seems he may want a move however with the fee more realistically being around the 8mil mark.

At least with Smallwood and Evans out we might keep the ball at the other end more.

Just got the ladies' team home shirt (men's XL size). Identical in every way to the men's team but with Watson Ramsbottom in a pleasing red to match the trim instead of 10Bet. Quite pleased...
Is it only available in store do you know? Would be great to see a pic.

Sorry to tell you that downing was signed to compete with bell for the left back position. Leaving chapman as the only out and out winger. I don’t want the striker or mids converted nonsense so I believe another proper winger is needed. Why we haven’t signed a fullback as there is downing/bell one side and Bennett/ nyambe the other. Tony doesn’t want any others
I did suspect as much. Could work in a back 5. Would fail in a back 4.

If we don't choke here and follow up the Reading result with another win we will have turned a new corner.
I'd go with the following :
Gk: Walton
Rwb: Bennett
Cb: Lenihan
Cb: Tosin
Cb: Williams
Lwb: Cunningham
Cm: Travis
Cm: Holtby
Amc: Dack
Fwd: Armstrong
Fwd: Gallagher
Tough to not start Graham but hard to drop Armstrong after the Reading performance and I fancy Gallagher to get his first league goal/s of the season here. Fancy the team above will be too much to handle and assured in defence. What Mowbray goes with is hard to predict, but I'll for a 3-1 Rovers win.
