Decent half after a tough start to the game. Wharton and Carter doing well at the back especially as they've not played in so long. Taveres is just not doing it and puts us at risk way too many times with what should be a simple pass misplaced. The rest are doing okay, always impressed with Alebiosu, Cantwell keeping possession well and moving play forwards, Tronstad playing well and driving forwards at times too. Need to take our chances now.

I remember when I was a young lad getting excited about links to Eidur Gudjohnson when we were under Hughes. Now we're in for his son, time sure does fly... Kudos to Gestede, it has been an exciting window. I have no idea what to expect this season but I'm more optimistic than I expected to be a couple of months back.

Some positives definitely. Kargbo looks more well rounded and is putting in good work. Alebiosu has been promising all season so far. McLoughlin looks solid enough with good physicality. As an aside, is Russ Bray doing the announcing at the stadium lol? We definitely need 2nd, fingers crossed.

Grew into the game. Definitely a penalty, haven't missed the poor officiating. Alebiosu and McLoughlin have done well enough. Hedges useless as ever. We don't have anyone that can control the ball in attack. Think Gueye is needed here.

I think we can make it work with him out wide and tucking in on the attack if our right back bombs on up on the overlap like Britain did. Alebiosu looks like he can do that, whether Miller can I'm not too sure will need to see him play.

Looks like he could play the Cantwell role and cover for the strikers. Left footed so maybe can play the Hedges role too.

Montgomery's driving run through the middle was impressive to feed it through to Gueye for the Kargbo goal, he made some solid challenges too.

Only caught the game from just over half time but very promising and good intensity and desire on show. Kargbo, will be frustrating but has something special and is rapid. Someone should have got into his ball across the goal and his overhead kick volley from the corner was almost spectacular Gueye, I'm a fan and think there is something there to unlock. He was poor today though, lethargic and didn't provide an outlet. We also didn't make many attempts to put one into the box from out wide which seems a waste while he is on the pitch. The young centre backs looked very solid and strong all considered and the young GK looks promising, coming off his line at the right time and composed on the ball. Tyjon has good pitch awareness and is worth giving some time and exposure to in the number 10 role when the time is right. Impressive but that intensity will be hard to maintain. As someone else mentioned, great to see that all the players seemed to know their role and the way we want to play.

Have to say in the midst of the gloom Baradji looks like an exciting addition. I could see him pairing up much more with Sondre than Travis but let's see what happens on that front, maybe we lose both, I really hope not. I'm also convinced Gueye has something about him, whether it can be unlocked consistently under Ismael is to be seen but I'm happy with him and Ohashi as our main options upfront.
