  1. Our loan strategy has no coherence to it, it's a random shotgun approach.

Clarkson and Poveda are taking opportunities away from our own players, principally Butterworth, Chapman and McBride. When van Hencke finally is fit, he'll likely be taking away minutes from Carter and Wharton.

I'm not against all loans, but they should either be possible permanent recruits (we used to do this well pre-Venkys) or much, much better than our own youngsters, preferably will an option to buy. Khedra might be a cut above, but the others?

  2. We might as well enjoy the moment as if he wasn't potted after last season's death spiral, he certainly ain't going anywhere while in the play-off positions.

I reckon the percentage chances of TM leaving or of him receiving a new contract are about 10/90.

He's going nowhere, and I'm not even sure the majority of Rovers fans want him to leave (BRFCS is not a good barometer, just look at all the LET comments and Facebook claptrap) so we may as well lump it.

    Negatives

    • Travis is worrying me, looks miles off the player he looked pre-covid in terms of work rate, skill and ability.
    • Defensively the tracking from midfield was abysmal again last night and we were lucky one of the Hull lads bombing into the box didn't cost us a goal like on Saturday.

    These two are connected.

Travis is worrying me and has been since his return from injury. Just hasn't seemed quite the same.

I know that people wont agree with me on this but i think BBD is falling foul (pardon the pun)  with the new rules of refs trying to let play go more.

there were several times that he got the ball with back to goal and felt the touch and went down trying to buy the foul that players like Rhodes used to praised for "buying the foul" and getting us up the pitch,

however this season these type of foul arent being given

So, in other words he needs to stop cheating so much?

He'd be a better player if he wasn't always looking to go down like a sack of spuds, that much is for sure.

More than ever, we need our hard-core fans to just reign-in the half-time booing. One minute you are praising the young squad, applauding Dolan etc, the next you are booing those very same players, without the 1st clue that it might dent their fragile confidence. Surely give them 10 games before you let your own depression and home life seep out in the form of booing and cat-calling of the youngest team in the division.

Before you start, I'm as frustrated as anyone by Mowbray's generally negative tactics, and brainless substitutions etc etc, but I have never booed us off at half time, it's pointless and counter-productive, and many of us on here still do it.

Please give it a quarter of a season before the bile is released. And if you don't agree with booing, challenge it, I do.

    The 45 minutes before booing = 0-0

    The 45 minutes after booing = 2-0

Anyone else that would have brought Butterworth on for Gallagher? His pace on the break instead of Gally lumbering around in his worst performance in the shirt would have seen us through IMO.

Yes. Gally had a shocker and Butterworth was the obvious replacement. TM instead decided to keep him but still completely mess up the entire formation of the entire team when 2-0 up.

    GALLAGHER WATCH v Luton Town

I panned Gallagher for his performance on Saturday but some fans disagreed so I thought ….as I re-watch the game…….that I’d pay particular attention to his contribution.

Who disagreed? Nobody. He was awful. I didn't read a single poster state otherwise. Crowned off by the worst ever run-the-ball-to-the-corner-flag since all the way back when he did the same against PNE.

    Can't find the Nyambe thread.

Posted my views on his defending for the first goal in the Luton thread. Awful, wrong side , stuff you learn under 8. He's fast and strong and is good one on one with wingers, which of course is important. However he gets caught positionally, can't header very well, passing is ok and his offensive awareness is practically non existent in the opposition final third.

Genuinely, how much is he worth? £1 million? Considering Pickering cost £650,000 and looks to have a lot more to his all round game for a full back, which you need these days. Nyambe is a very poor man's Wan Bisakka

He wasn't the main culprit, however. Not arguing that he was awful on that goal, but he was trying to mop up the mess of the rest of the defence. Why was he there? Because our 27 central defenders had gone AWOL. He should have been covering one of two Luton players on their left but he got sucked into covering the player in the middle which none of the central defenders had picked up and who Travis preferred to watch stroll into the area unopposed rather than to run a little tiny bit faster to track.

So yep, not great from Nyambe but everyone else did just abnegate their responsibilities and left him holding the can.

I don't think we'll get much for Nyambe, he's stalled badly in his career.
