But doesn't using these new funds to cover running costs then free up the funds that would have been used on running costs to be used elsewhere, such as transfers?

How do they even police that the money can't be spent on transfer fees? Are we just not allowed to spend any money on transfers now? Or do we have to prove that we already had some money set aside for transfers and we cannot exceed that?

Montpellier were horrid last season, finished dead last on 16 points. Sagnan was pretty much every present for them apart from the odd injury. Seems like he was one of their better performers at least.

Drameh played quite a few games at left back for Hull too so would be good cover for both sides. But seems all too likely that he'd be a Brittain replacement than cover

Markanday shouldn't have a problem finding a club in league 1/2. Did well at Chesterfield and not breaking into a team fighting for promotion in league 1 doesn't necessarily mean he can't cut it at that level. Surprised we didn't try getting £100k or so for him.

I doubt Ismael is going to openly come out and say "nah, they can go", especially with no guarantees on recruiting any able bodies replacements just yet
