  1. With all the overseas targets McLoughlin seems like a sensible recruit. Experienced at this level and regularly carries the armband for Hull. Agree with others that it’s strange they are happy to let him leave in their current predicament. Unless they are cash strapped and need money to pay transfer instalments/ salaries
  2. Rosler will be a lot cheaper than others linked. Also former England youth international so will qualify for a work permit. Don’t know if he will be good enough
  3. If we don’t sell, you’re the same person who will be complaining about us letting him go on a free next season.
  4. On Brittain. Sign a deal or sell at this point. impressive end to last season, seems to suit Ismael as a manager, perhaps we should’ve tied him down last summer. But I for one was quite critical of him at that point, seemed to be a passenger when us as team where under the pump. Sad to lose him, particularly to a rival, but as many others have stated, we have lost a lot worse and recovered.
  5. Paper talk of Brittain medical at Boro New centre half link after they have given up on Kapaudi Would be my bets
  6. I’m certainly not envious of Millwall giving some sort of trial to a bloke who turns 33 in September because he has a promotion under his belt 2 years ago. Doesn’t fit the bill for Ismael and throwing money down the drain
  7. The running theme in these signings is physicality and power. I’m all for it. Sick of those Tuesday night away games where teams run all over us and we roll over. Not had a big team since the Allardyce days.
  8. That will be because he doesn’t know his name
  9. Who said I don’t rate? Decent player, breaks up play and uses the ball okay. Replaceable is my point
  10. You seem to have mis read. I think everyone is aware that they are currently the best we have in that position. My point is I don’t think either are irreplaceable and Tronstad now being a top earner is fair enough, but when he’s 32, legs going and not in the side earning 20k a week there will be many on here saying we need to offload him and he isn’t worth the Theres plenty of clubs throwing money about and I’m sure they’ll both get it. I seem to recall your envy at Hull splashing the cash last summer. Finished well below us and now under an embargo. Ive watched rovers and championship football long enough to know they are both replaceable and it doesn’t almost guarantee relegation by not renewing their contracts.
  11. Am I the only one who thinks Tronstad and Travis are solid but limited championship players who at soon to be aged 30 and 28 respectively aren’t worth offering circa 20k a week for 3 years that they will most certainly get else where?
  12. I don’t there’s much room for criticism in the recruitment department. They are coming up with championship level players on a shoe string, not their fault there’s a lack of investment
  13. I think Al-Sahafi is a decent punt. Only 21 plenty of room to improve. 6 ft 2 and clearly has pace - fits VI’s style. Granted he’s only got 1 full season under his belt, but he only turned 21 in feb- surely rare to have more than that at his age.
  14. Looks like we are still haggling with Legia over a fee for Kapuadi, polish press reporting he wants to move and is refusing to sign a new deal with them. Fully expect rovers to try and hold their nerve until the end of the window to try get him on the cheap. Apparently the new offer is 300k more than the last one.
  15. Can’t see a player who’s 27 and knocked about in Eastern Europe for the past 6 years catching the eye of many other clubs can you? Aside from a couple of goals in the conference league last year seems a bit of a no mark. I’m sure his wage demands will be 50% or more less than Danny Batth’s , the lad might turn out decent for us, but hardly had an inspiring career to date that will be catching the eye of other clubs. If Wolves thought he was up to it I’m sure they would’ve parted with the couple of million required by now.
  16. Convinced it will be Kapaudi when we’ve done everything we can to knock the price down, followed by another overseas forward on the cheap and a couple of premiership loans to buff the squad out.
  17. Yeah I noticed that, looks like he’s on the move somewhere. I wouldn’t read too much into the fee, 2 million quid split over 3 years on 10k a week with the intention to flog in the next couple of years is low risk.
  18. Looks like Legia are up sh*t creek and trying to offload whoever they can, can’t imagine he’ll be earning a right lot in the polish league either..
  19. Looks like Steve Kapaudi is the left sided centre back they are focusing their attention on, with the stumbling block being Legia owe a 35% sell on. 6 foot 5 french born Congolese international, spent his entire career in Eastern Europe. Scored in Legia Warsaw’s 2-1 win over Chelsea last season. Being reported by a Polish journo on X…
  20. I think it’s likely to be Pears and Travis to be flogged, Tonstadt and Brittain to stay. Imagine they can’t wait to get Travis’ salary off the books and I reckon Pears will be on a decent whack as well. He came in from Boro under Mowbray
  21. Saudi lad currently away in the states with the national team. They are playing in Texas on Thursday and again in Nevada on Monday. If we do have an arrangement with his club in place (he fits the bill for our recruitment policy and I think he would probably jump at the chance of the spotlight England offers) then it will most likely be the back end of next week that he becomes available. Will be another low risk signing on low wages. He’s a good age and one decent season in the championship will see his value rise.
  22. Dutch journalists were saying Trondstadt was a strange signing when he was brought over. Ultimately stats aren’t great if he is a winger but give the lad chance and don’t write him off. We seem to do that with everyone the club brings in recently. Regardless of the penny pinching owners we are still supporters and should wish him the best.
  23. We have been a team lacking pace and physicality since we got relegated from the premier league. I think bigger stronger and fitter teams are far better to watch.
  24. 46 games. Sure we’ll play plenty of them with 4 at the back, but it appears he wants the option of wing backs
  25. Ismael recruiting ready to play 3 centre halves. Left sided centre half and De Neve who will most likely play left wing back. Certainly think wing back is Britain’s best position. I’m fairly certain we were linked with Nade a couple of years ago as well.
