Your buying into Ipswich side of things too much we have a value Ipswich haven’t met it. Don’t think there’s much more in it than that really. They had multiple sources saying about hamer agreeing terms etc there’s a lot of misinformation going about from their end

Two different players really szmodics is the arrive late and score sort of wing forward/10 - rutter is the creative type who gets on the ball a lot 16 assists last season more than szmodics whole career so depends on what Brighton are looking for. For the record I don’t think he’s done enough in his career to warrant that price tag but that’s football these days and fair play to his agent for getting that in the contract

I think reading between the lines Eustace is wanting to operate a smaller quality over quantity squad compared to years gone past. He has mentioned 4 more in and that’s after o’riordan markanday vale possibly going. Dodgy tactic but seems to be how it’s going to play out

Certainly wouldn’t put him in the ‘atrocious’ level but would be bottom of our pecking order in his position and consistent game time could mature him and make him a better player. Whether that’s a champ level who knows but think it’s a good move for him and the right call by rovers

The objective for him is to get 90mins weekly and if he’s a ‘level above’ then itl show in his contribution to them with his performances/goals/assists. He just needs to be playing regularly and enjoying football again. A lot said the same for his move to Aberdeen said he could/should make an impact there doesn’t always work like that. No lose here for rovers at all - clear JE doesn’t see him featuring much

Haha me too lol I’d take the man down at the off licence over venkys! But yea a no to OLI Burke and jones for me. We have enough experience with mcfadz batth weimann hyam trav hedges etc much rather take a chance on an unknow than those. Only my preference though

He will be unhappy with the lingering doubts any player would in his position. Thankfully though he’s just getting on with what he’s paid to do that’s the main thing for us at the minute. I think it is the case szmodics regardless of club at his age would like the opportunity to play in the prem Iv no doubt about that. It prob took him couple of weeks in pre season to get his head around the fact Ipswich may not meet his valuation. So he’s just put the head down and is getting on with it. It’s def refreshing look at rowe at Norwich pulling out hours before their first match. It’s not a good look

With all due respect Tommy if he wasn’t keen on moving to Ipswich he wouldn’t have been talking to them at all. I’d suggest he’s just a model professional realisings the clubs valuation and offers don’t match and he’s just getting on with it
