Personally would keep Szmodics, current squad simply doesn’t allow a sale and I’m not willing to take the risk of the money being spent correctly. The current squad with Sammie would stay up, without him it would not.

Further to my above post, it’s not just mistakes that highlight how poor a keeper is. We conceded goals with pears in net out of nowhere, someone had a strike and all of a sudden it’s in the back of the net and you’re sat there thinking hmmm that just shouldn’t have gone in. I can name 10-12 goals off the top of my head where I looked at it and thought, how the fucks that gone in?! One that sticks out to me (again overshadowed by Morton for the third goal) was McBurnie’s equaliser in the cup quarter final. No way any goalkeeper in the championship should be beaten by that.

Pears is lucky that the Wednesday mistake was so bad, because people have forgot the one at home to Ipswich which was even worse!

I think Pears is a horrific shot stopper, and the stats for xG last season show that. He gets beat from any angle

Travis has ability to be a box to box man. JDT effectively used him as a number 10 at times which was daft. He’s by no means a playmaker I agree, not got the passing, but see his goals vs QPR and Luton and he has a decent shot on him when allowed to. Both cracking finishes, especially the Luton one.

Bet he’d score more goals than the 3 we’ve brought in to ‘replace’ him

If we keep Szmodics I’d agree, but we won’t; so still work to do! Still have a shocking keeper, only one left back, no passers in midfield and no pace out wide… other than that we’re good 😆

Ideally yes… having a mix of left and right footers is huge for angle, surely you can see that? A left footed centre back plays a ball from the LCB role over the top and it’s spinning/curling in behind the defenders and towards goal, if it’s played right footed then it’s curling towards the defender and/or touch line and away from danger? You’ll telling us you can play a right footed left back next which as England showed in summer… you can’t! Anyone saying left footed centre backs don’t matter are basically saying there’s no difference between out swinging and in swinging corners.

Let’s clear one thing up, Gallagher should definitely be sold for anything we can get him for (in normal circumstances) I’ve seen the stats of when he plays and when he doesn’t and I don’t care about them. The main stat is when he doesn’t play he doesn’t score and when he does play he still doesn’t score. Terrible investment and player.
