  1. DJ Shadow is pure class, "Number Song" and "Building Steam With A Grain Of Salt" from Endtroducing / "Blood On The Motorway" and "You Can't Go Home Again" from The Private Press being personal faves. If you are into d & b you should check out Photek, the early stuff is very minimalist but Solaris is more expansive. Then you must download the 'Cops 'n' Robbers remix' of 'Stem.' He samples Heat. It is soaring stuff.
  2. Agreed, rubbish.
  3. SOAD have three absolutely storming songs. The rest is loud, generic rubbish.
  4. I discovered an old album of my father's; Robert Plant's Fate of Nations. It is abolutely superb.
  5. Very much like the current Guns 'n' Roses set-up. It's just Axel Rose and some mates. A friend is always banging on about how he saw them at Leeds two years ago. In fact he saw a bearded, obese Rose and some guy wearing a KFC bucket on his head.
  6. My cousin was the guitarist in Catatonia. But before he reached that zenith, he and his brother were in a Cardiff band called The Crumb-Blowers. They wore see-through macks and wailed incoherently (sometimes in Welsh) Surprisingly enough they didn't last long. On a lighter note the Fun Lovin' Criminals are coming to the my Union on the 22nd February. Brilliant stuff.
  7. I suppose your right. We are ALL very aware of United's 'towering' achievements over the last 100, sorry...10 years. Houlllier, has very little to be smug about if recent league achievements are the marker of success. But hey folks, Neil Warnock may be in our division soon...
  8. Not quite. Did anyone hear Ferguson's comments after the Chelsea match on Sunday? Apparently the scum 'controlled the game' and were 'unlucky' to lose. What a plonker.
  9. Well then, I'm not really directing my comment at you am I? I don't 'have a problem with England fans' but I suppose it helps your point.
  10. Spot on. Although this WC has not attracted the masses who appear when the nation is gripped by the 'we're going to win it' hysteria, every two years. Blimey. Do you get that a lot in Northern Ireland? Fortunately (and obviously) we don't. Instead we watch from across the water in horrified awe as every man, woman and dog, spirals into a state of uncontrollable and blind expectancy.
  11. Spot on. Although this WC has not attracted the masses who appear when the nation is gripped by the 'we're going to win it' hysteria, every two years.
  12. Traits brought over the sea by all those bread-stealers long ago, no doubt.
  13. They still might.
  14. A bad start to what is bound to be a bad sporting day. Sh*t it was tight though. What a game! What an advertisement for Rugby. I wonder how many Saturday morning players will be trying drop goals next week...
  15. God, isn't that right. They are shee-ite, and pretentious shee-ite at that. Its good job your not going to see them then isnt it! As your not theres no need to get so upset about them is there. I'm hardly getting 'upset' about it. Cocker, that was the first thing that I noticed about Busted; no wires, no amps...no drums.
  16. God, isn't that right. They are shee-ite, and pretentious shee-ite at that. As for Busted, they are f**king hilarious.
  17. I severly doubt that somehow...
  18. At least we'll be able to hammer your dingle jokers when the derby comes along, provided you don't 'go down,' ha ha ha.
  19. No, it's not.
  20. Not all of us part-time, fair-weathered fans can get to games that easily. Many of us have water in between home and Ewood. Do no create a dichotomy between the fans who do go to the Stadium and those that can't. We who watched the game on Sky have as much right, and as good a perspective on that utterly appalling defeat, as every supporter.
  21. The most recent QOTSA album was class.
  22. I think any of the newer fans, surrounded all their lives by Liverpool and United supporters (that in itself is a test of one's resilience), did well to sustain their support throughout those two years in the wilderness. Admittedly we don't appreciate what it was like in the pre-Walker era yet the contrast with our glory years was stark and painful. As someone who rarely if ever had or has the opportunity to visit Ewood and refresh any waning interest in the club, my allegiances were severly tested (perhaps more than others) in those two years. Yet what was the alternative? To switch teams? That should never be an option. Peanuts in comparison to the above tales of following our glorious Rovers I know, but still that's my take on it.
  23. Has anyone heard the new material by Jane's Addiction? Very impressive indeed.
  24. I just downloaded the entire Audiovent album, 'Dirty, Sexy Nights in Paris.' It is very impressive.
