Assassin's Creed was alright but it should have been amazing. As Cocker says, the repetitve nature is a really big negative. I'm baffled that the developers didn't spot this. The AI is appalling also.

I finally finished Dead Space. I can't believe more people on here aren't raving about it. It's absolutely terrific. I defy you not to jump out of your skin at the end.

I'm not really that big a fan of the series but this looks pretty exciting.

Finally got round to buying the latest Kings of Leon album yesterday. It's superb.

I saw the new Bond film yesterday. I have to say I loved it. It's a far more brutal affair than Casino Royale but it's extremely exciting and Craig's incarnation of the character is mesmerising. He plays him as rage-filled, unstoppable force of nature and frankly it makes for a highly satisfying spectacle. I really can't see what the harsher critics have to moan about.

I was in Zavvi yesterday and saw Dead Space sitting there for 35 quid. It's terrifying, and very slick. I'd highly recommend it.

Bond review.

I'm looking forward to Far Cry 2 (the original became brilliant just as I was about to trade it in) and I've already got Gears of War 2 on pre-order but this has crept in under the radar and sounds fantastic.

All this talk of Bioshock made me put it into the 360 last night. It's a superb game, with so much variety. You'd be mad to miss it on the PS3.

Best 360 game of last year bar none.

Terrible to see Newman pass away. He was one of the greats. The Sting, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and Road To Perdition are amongst my favourite films ever.

I didn't see it.

I'm not a Nickelback fan by any stretch of the imagination. I never said I was. I did however see them in concert and they were ok. I also acknowledged their deficiencies however, again, they put on a good show. Your reference to Metallica is irrelevant. They are clearly a superior band.

Went to see Nickelback in concert last night. The music is pretty formulaic and is hardly going to change the world but frankly it was one of the most enjoyable concert experiences I've had. They don't take themselves seriously at all and took regular breaks to fire hundreds of cups of beer into the crowd ("It's like oxygen to you Irish"), load air cannons full of "free sh*t" and shoot them at people and to tell the occasional filthy joke. The back of the stage was complete with eight massive flame machines shooting vertically in sync with the guitars and bucketloads of stupidly loud fireworks. It was preposterous but stupidly good craic.
