Reading the press there - seems Mark Hughes wants it all ways. 'Having castigated Burnley for failing to prevent the pitch invasions, Mark Hughes, the Blackburn manager, perhaps mellowed by the break in Dubai, insisted yesterday that there was nothing anyone could do to stop fans intent on storming the field. “If fans are going to get on the pitch then it’s difficult to stop,”' Now its down to you to keep the fans off the pitch it seems the clubs have problems doing this - not what he said after the game. Still lets hope for a trouble free night and a clarets victory -
Absolutely. A working class family. A man that worked his socks off, made a fortune and indulged in a passion and a well-earned dream. An honourable man whom any club would be fortunate to have been sponsored by. But wait. I have read several football books/biographies of footballers pre Jack and they all say the same thing- for example: "We always looked forward to going to Blackburn Rovers, there would be a warm welcome and a table groaning with sandwiches after the match" Twist that how you will, Blackburn Rovers has always been a club to be proud of. And what's wrong with being a "working-class family that wins the lottery"? Uncle Jack never forgot his roots. Neither will Blackburn Rovers supporters. And do you know what? I'm (word I'm not allowed to use) proud of that. THIS IS THE BEST REPLY EVER.........IF YOU WANT MY BABIES Unlike some I am not one to have a major go at Jack Walker. The boys done very very good - and made enough money to do pretty much what they wanted. However the idea that he didn;t forget his roots is a little hard to swallow bearing in mind he spent the last years of his life living abroad as a tax exile.

Thats stating the obvious isn't it ? Of course they are all B*******, as you cant marry your sister. Do you have to try really hard to come up with them or is it just natural wit? Either way if you're planning to make a career of humour you should probably take the waist in on your trousers - you're going to be very very hungry

you dont have the brain power to humiliate me fool. Which question would you like answering? Are you on our website because nobody in Burnley can read? nope I'm on because we have numerous b*stards on our boards.

thats how long I think it will take our manager to get the squad together and ready I could be wrong of course - maybe we will do it next season Which are the promising youngsters coming through from your academy or reserves who will be ready by 2007? Given you've just flushed £600k down the loo on panicbiyi (who is scarcely good enough for the division you are in), how large will your transfer budget be this summer and next? Obviously Chaplow and Blake were good enough to go straight onto the substitutes bench of injury-hit lowly Prem sides, do you have any other players as good as their standard? Any plans to increase the first team squad beyong 16 players? (Most Premiership clubs struggle if they have less than 25 Premiership-quality players.) Strange then philpl that Jose is looking for a fighting squad of 22 outfield players aint it? I would agree there is a lot of work to be done but your academy is hardly prolific and you will be on the way back down soon enough yourselves. As for Cotterill being on his way soon - maybe he will. If so then so be it - though I'm not sure what I would think of a man who dedicated a job to his mother who left only half way through it. There are 92 jobs in the English League. In the grand scheme of things I'd have thought around 30 would be more attractive than we are today, around 30 less attractive and the rest are all about as appealing as each other - which is very when you consider the paucity of supply. How many managers apply for every job when they become available?

thats how long I think it will take our manager to get the squad together and ready I could be wrong of course - maybe we will do it next season Burnley will never ever ever get promoted. To get promoted you need a good team. You don't have a good team. To get a good team you need money. You have no money. And don't respond with info of your latest sales as we both know your financially in the sh*t. you obviously no more about our debt than I do - whats yours at the moment 26million and running at aroun 5 million per annum loss, after the trust money. Now sure I hear about 14 million is moving from debt to capitlisation by the trust ,eaving around 12 million of debt - and 5 million per annum losses We are in the ######, tis true. Still I think we have a decent chance with our current manager

assuming you mean your fitness is better than ours you are way off there. We have one of the fittest squads I have ever seen at the Turf and until hughes arrived your squad was frankly not upto scratch on the fitness front (at least thats what hughes said) One thing you won't do is tire us out 0-0, Burnley to win on penalties -

really gav? In that case its lucky for me your opinion of me doesn't reallyconcern me Nothing on my mind but its a bit rich when we have rovers on our board complaining about a few posts that are reception class compared to comments from you, USABlue, ossie, ABBEY need I go on. Consequently I view it as my duty to defend the vast majority of decent Clarets from the nonesense you and your cohorts post by pointing out the dual standards you are employing. Anyway, as you say we aint got all night so I guess we wait now until Wednesday week

you're all leaving the change at home then are you?

ah but isn't this the point. Some on here, in fact most on here try to do exactly that - why do you deserve to be any different. For what its worth there have been a few on here who have been decent, have kept the banter friendly(ish) - hell I even got a couple of PM's. So are all Blackburn fans Vandals and thugs? No more or less than all Burnley fans. Another example, the talk of the few burberry clad boys waiting after the game was over. Well we could talk about the Rovers fans who were in the bottom corner of the stand during the game as well. Were you the guy in the white shirt (with your boyfriend dressed in black) stood behind the yellow gate that opens onto the pitch. You and the guys with you and next to you were gesturing throughout the match. So either we have some fans who are idiots at Burnley and so do you OR we can tar each other with the same brush and say all BLackburn fans are scum. Oh and Grant had Savage in his pocket for the entire second half - when the Welsh whinger wasn;t, well whinging to the ref

What double standards you employ on here. We have just had a complaint on our board about an alleged post (I only say alleged because I haven't seen it though I don't doubt its veracity) which said this 'jus lettin you know the criminal damage that you inbreads caused did not go unnoticed in the away stand on suday expect the same. I ll av my spanner on me! an eye for an eye and all that!' Below is my reply to Rover Blue, using a few comments from this very thread 'perhaps Rover Blue you should be more concerned with your own support -and I quote from BRFCS.co.uk 'A few other points... The pillock in front of me chucking coins - if I ever see you do that again Ill give you a kicking, perhaps my bollocking wasnt enough? What on earth happened to the gents toilets? I thought the operation at Ewood was first class. The Blackburn End was open, andBlues selling hot stuff. The coaches all organised and the police escort very good. And even after the game at Burnley things well smoothly, not seen anything like that for ages. All penned in.' 'Why do some idiots have to spoil things by smashing seats up after the game? Saw one kid who thought he was being cool by taking part of a seat home.' 'Was the burnley fc bar sign eventually removed ? Yes it was. It were my Rovers towel that draped over it at first, then the price list got removed then the Burnley FC Bar sign.' What goes around comes around, an eye for an eye etc etc. It would seem that your attempts to paint yourselves whiter than white are not succeeding - pray tell why it is OK to smash up seats, toilets and signs and throw coins but it is not OK to breakdance naked on the pitch - can you honestly say the behavoir detailed above is any better than that of the guy who got on the pitch?' It also seems that other people have noticed the delightful tones of one of your posters from over the pond, amongst others 'I too dont see the problem with what was said. Just browsing that site, and it appears quite tame compared with some of the hateful vitriol spewed by the likes of Gav, Abbey and USABlue.....' Still, in case anybody is getting confused, don;t forget we are the neanderthal, stupid, inbred ignorants TTFN

And Preston, Blackburn and the rest of East Lancs are oases (sp?) of charm and splendour? Get a grip man, comment on the football, the crowd but don't pretend the whole of East lancs is anything other than it is: industrialised and very often derelict awaiting investment from the government's 'regeneration schemes'. I also take great exception to your classification of the inhabitants. care to go head to head in an iq test? I have no problem with humour as those who know me will testify but you are not in the least bit funny. Here's a true story for you, make of it what you will. My Wife is a Geordie. I met her when she was studying at Preston Uni (University Of Central Lancashire is its full title). I lived in the North East after her studies for around 5 years and moved back to Burnley for various family reasons. Today we had to go to the Hospital in Blackburn with my 3 year old son as he needs to have his tonsils removed. We went to the Royal Infirmary and were dealt with by wonderful staff. I had to park just off the hospital on Ivy Street so I dropped my wife and son at the hospital then went to park. After the pre op assesment we walked back to the car and my wife said - and I swear this is the absolute truth - 'its like being in a time warp isn't it' Now i would suggest that Burnley and Blackburn (the towns) are very very similar. Both have some run down area's, both have suffered from the decline of the industry on which they were built, both are trying admirably to build a future for themselves. Lovely story. What's the point? I can tell you too that my wife, who is American dislikes footy but enjoys watching a bit when we play you why? She finds the dingles similarity to the Hillbillies of the South here very amusing. Hey are there really ANY Lancashire mill towns that can be considered eye candy. the point is, despite all said on here the towns are very similar. I to have american relatives who don't seem to feel the same as your wife - then again they are not hillbillies and so perhaps don;t have an accurate point of reference like your good lady blue. You had the better chances - I already said that. Our style of play is actually to play more football than you perhaps expect - look at our team, we don;t have a big man to knock it upto. Still, whoever wins has a good chance to progress, so its all to play for

To answer a few things. ENT is kind off available at Burnley - but the wait is long and the royal infirmary are very much the local specialists - certainly at kids level (was going to put paediatric but couldn;tspell it for the life in me) and we were advised to go there by the staff at Burnley. Way back in this somebody asked the question about whether Burbley have suffered like many teams as a result of all seater, football and hype and the answer is very much yes. Home atmosphere is generally poor. Strangely we played Wolves in front of about 8000 and we made more noise and atmosphere than at an average home game. Stadium design does not help and the only good thing about the cricket field stand is the acoustics. Another point somebody made was that perhaps we drowned each other out - ie we couldnt hear you for ourselves and vice versa - seems plausible. Onto the replay. Our cheif exec said on radio yesterday we have been given 7000 tickets and - ' we should have no problem selling 7000 tickets' - I am not so sure. Its not on TV so that will help but I would bet we sell around 5000

you know something sg you are one mouthy fecker -are you always this hard or just when you have the ether to protect you? Theres no chance of you seeing me at deadwood - you know you wouldn;t dare meet face to face Your 'Burnley' mates were probably amongst the thousands there today who haven't been near in 20 years - unless you count the Man U game a couple of years ago. I have been honest and i was honestly dissapointed with your support today - though I thought the few big timers at the front were quite amusing ,they seemed less than keen when invited into the longside. Didn't see a plane pre the match to be honest - what time did it fly over?
-
Think you may find we have Accrington Stanley to thank for that. Of course you would need to be able to read to work that out.
-
wow with such a reasoned argument how could I not? Yes I was at the game - were you - really were you? Did you think you made a lot of noise? Let me list a few teams who have made more noise than you this season: Leeds Stoke Preston Aston Villa You're noise was poor today. Your fans were throwing coins - and I'm not sure about the streaker as he seemed determined to sit in the Blackburn dugout, though it could just be he hasn't been to the Turf in 20 years and got confused. Remember we also lost our right back (and captain) and leading centre half and you still failed to score. So we go to deadwood on the 1st of March as massive underdogs, fair enough. A replay wasn't something many of you were predicting - in fact most of the score predictions ranged from 2 -7 nil. Still I am content, we gave a good account of ourselves (barring of course the complete ###### who went onto the pitch) and we still have a chance, however slim, of going into the next round.
-
could have been worse I guess - he could have been throwing coins. Sorry to say it guys but you were quiet today - and I say that not to have a go but as a serious statement - I've heard a quarter the number of fans you had in today make 4 times the noise you managed. Thought the result was fair but there can be little argument you had the better scoring chances - and by the way the pitch was the same for both teams
