Rest In Peace Kelvin A proper football man and genuine, top top man.

It is hard not to feel extremely saddened by events like these. RIP young man - my thoughts are with your family and I wish them nothing but to eventually be able to come to terms with their terrible loss and find some peace.

Was sorry to hear this on Radio Lancs. I hope the guy pulls through and makes a complete recovery. No doubt like every Rovers fan and other football fans, my best wishes and prayers are with this man and his family right now.

Surprised to read some of the vitriol on this thread toward McCarthy. He played well for you, scored some important goals and helped to maintain your Prem Status. Now he wants to move for what he sees as a better opportunity, why would you begrudge him the chance to advance his career with a bigger club during the last few years he has playing football professionally? -

This has prompted some discussion on our boards re the likelyhood of trouble at our games. One fan is insistent there is no hatred from Balckburn to Burnley, it is all onesided. Now I seem to recall somebody mentioning a bus (maybe more?) of Rovers fans intercepted by Police on way for a bit of bother last time we met - does anybody know about this and/or have a link to any articles covering it? -

I hadn't considered that. I'm confident we won't see anything like that at our games. Lancashire Police have a tight control over these games as we all know. Also it really does take '2' to create these kinds of situations and you don't have any thugs do you? Only kidding. No though I'm sure there will be a few minor incidents with some idiots drawn to it I think largely speaking the games will go of as relatively peacfully as the last few did - it maybe in the town centres later where the problens arise. -

Sg - you must be going soft Attendance yesterday was a disgrace when we are in THIRD, lets hope the win will entice a few more on. Got to say I'd love us and Preston to go up. They are in a better position than us to maintain their current position - we need a huge slice of luck with injuries, suspensions and form but stranger things have happened. Actually I'd love us, Cardiff and PNE to go up - that would p*ss the premier league chiefs of (and the so called big clubs in our division like Birmingham, WBA, Leeds, Southampton) And philipl - lets hope you are right -

Not sure, our form has gone from the sublime to the ridiculous game by game. We need some luck with injuries and suspensions and we need the stability of the manager staying (which looks likely for the time being at least). It is easy for us to forget (you probably never noticed ) we have actually been in the play places for the previous 2 seasons come Xmas/New year - and we have then sold ours and the divisions top scorer. I guess if silly money is offered for Gray then the same could happen again, lets hope we can at least hold on until the end of the season and see where we can get to. -

Marv's a Blackburn lad (I think - or maybe he just works there?) and talks ###### most of the time to be honest. He's one of Tony 'Clarets mad' Scholes' inner sanctum. -
Hi Again. Not been on for a while so I thought I'd see how you were all doing. How do you veiw your season so far, better than expected, worse or about what you thought would happen? It doesn't take a genius to know that so far we are far higher than expected but I have to say you don't seem to be suffering to much from the loss of the Welsh GobSh*te So how do you see your season panning out? Can you match or improve on last season? Do you think Hughes will end up going to Man U if he keeps on doing the job he is for you?

As opposed to you lot who are aquainted with cars full of people driving around celebrating people being killed on the tubes and buses in London I guess You must have been really proud of that news broadcast -

Wigans current average is 19605 whilst Blackburns is 19468 (source www.statmail.co.uk) BTW SG, love that picture of Dixie Dingle. Whilst the whole episode was somewhat embarrassing I did laugh when one of your lot (maybe Nelsen? - a big lad anyway) started to move towards him, the look on his face was priceless -

can we have a source and date for that please If anybody, and I mean ANYBODY believes Savage is the best midfielder in the British leagues they are seriously short on football knowledge. He's good, he's a nuisance and he is defintely the type of player who you love in your team and hate in the oppositions. I was particularly impressed with the way he drew the crowds hatred onto himself at the Turf during his warm up - thus saving less assured players some additional pressure. He is all these things but he is a long long way from being the best midfielder in the British leagues -

tiny things please tiny minds I guess. If you'd rather see a goal go in off the opposition defenders arse than a sublime volley over the keeper, fair play to you -

what time is his show? I am making it my one man mission to listen for a few weeks, note down every derogatory Burnley comment then make a BIG BIG complaint to the BBC about the misuse of licence money where a presenter is continually insulting the very licence payers he is supposed to represent. How incredibly petty it was to do that don't you think? Still, we expect no less. -

Serious answer is we don't have much attacking skill in the squad. No sour grapes nor crying into my beer but what you saw last night was all we have. No debate over whether we play this striker or that striker. When we had Robbie Blake and Chaplow we had an excellent forward and attacking midfielder, now we don't and it shows. There was no option on the bench to bring on to try and have a go. This is not having a go either, I have already congratulated you on victory but perhaps a better question for you is why you couldn;t deal more easily with a lower division team that struggled to get 11 fit pro's out onto the pitch? Still depsite the ultimate result, I enjoyed the 2 encounters and I can honestly say I am far less down about it than I thought I would be. We now have to wait until summer and see what SC can do about the squad. -

Firstly well done and good luck in the next round. It really is unbecoming to gloat so in victory. I have no complaints about my team. They battled hard and having played 2 games since the first game, still missing our main centre half and having patched up the team (smallest squad in the football league) I am proud of their performance, proud of the fans and to be fair proud that both teams and sets of fans can show the rest of the world what a derby is really supposed to be like Now lets massage attendance figures again eh? Away fans at Turf Moor - 3800 Away fans at Deadwood - 7000 What does this prove? Nothing because with the best will in the world you couldn;t sell 7000 tickets because there were not that many available. The actual home attendance at the Turf was 18000 - effectively a sell out, how do you propose we get 21000 people into 18000 seats? For me, both games were as near a sellout as you'll ever get, both sets of away support 'sold all their tickets'. TTFN - now going to lick my wounds ps - Population of Blackburn is 48000 higher than Burnley, equivalent to over 50% of Burnley's total - catchment area? -

Reading the press there - seems Mark Hughes wants it all ways. 'Having castigated Burnley for failing to prevent the pitch invasions, Mark Hughes, the Blackburn manager, perhaps mellowed by the break in Dubai, insisted yesterday that there was nothing anyone could do to stop fans intent on storming the field. “If fans are going to get on the pitch then it’s difficult to stop,”' Now its down to you to keep the fans off the pitch it seems the clubs have problems doing this - not what he said after the game. Still lets hope for a trouble free night and a clarets victory -
Absolutely. A working class family. A man that worked his socks off, made a fortune and indulged in a passion and a well-earned dream. An honourable man whom any club would be fortunate to have been sponsored by. But wait. I have read several football books/biographies of footballers pre Jack and they all say the same thing- for example: "We always looked forward to going to Blackburn Rovers, there would be a warm welcome and a table groaning with sandwiches after the match" Twist that how you will, Blackburn Rovers has always been a club to be proud of. And what's wrong with being a "working-class family that wins the lottery"? Uncle Jack never forgot his roots. Neither will Blackburn Rovers supporters. And do you know what? I'm (word I'm not allowed to use) proud of that. THIS IS THE BEST REPLY EVER.........IF YOU WANT MY BABIES Unlike some I am not one to have a major go at Jack Walker. The boys done very very good - and made enough money to do pretty much what they wanted. However the idea that he didn;t forget his roots is a little hard to swallow bearing in mind he spent the last years of his life living abroad as a tax exile.
