  1. From my seat in area NO4 I didn't see this incident but I'm bl00dy furious at the news The atmosphere is bad enough without this sort of provocation..... Like I said on the safe standing thread I'm slowly losing interest and matters like this only help to compound this feeling!!!
  2. The worst performance I have seen for years.Sorry to say but right from the kick off our players didn't look up for it..what the hell is going on?,where the hell is our next win coming from?. There is going to be some real trouble in the BBE very soon if the stewards dont back off..coupled with these awful performances there were a lot of angry faces today. There was also some trouble on Livesey branch Rd with the police being heavy handed. WHAT AN AWFUL DAY.
  3. Douglas to walk it,his name is still revered even in my generation, how many players can claim to have scored against Brazil? Ripley comes second for me..the way he used to beat his man so consistently and then his pin point crosses to the head of Shearer brought only one painful conclusion for the opposition!. I have not seen a winger to match his ability since he left the club.
  4. The club haven't the ###### to do anything pro-active about it.Its up to the fans to make (pardon the pun) a stand against this now enforced sit down, dont move or breathe shyte. It would appear the clubs only interest is bowing to the corporate cash cow. If the whole bottom tier of the Blackburn end stood in unison to make a point there would be nothing the bumbling stewards could do about it just like the away fans in the Darwen End. Back in the day, the old Ewood with 8,000 fans on created a better atmosphere than at present.... its vertually non-existent now.We dont want f'kin drums and stupid inflatable plastic footballers when we score I'm slowly losing interest to be honest and it pains me to say that, tomorrows game holds no expectancy for me,another run of the mill game played infront of a home crowd who have had their passion literally kicked out of them by their own. YAWWWNNNN!!!How very, very boring this clubs 'matchday experience ' has now become.
  5. Stamford Bridge!?....where's Bloomfield Park in that list
  6. Based on current form we're in for a pasting.Big worries about their strong attack and our static defence. Rovers 2 Boro 12 Att: 15,000 with 5k from Boro
  7. Enjoyed the game especially the second half.....good atmosphere and a very respectable 17k crowd. The lad Stead played well and was unlucky with the excellent 20 yard effort off the cross bar. Lets hope to see a few more internationals at Ewood in the future.
  8. Yes, obviously people will pay for the previlege of having an England U21 game at Ewood....stop being so bloody miserable ffs!!
  9. Common Rovers fans lets try and push that up to 20k!!
  10. Some wonderfull memories been brought back indeed, More Rovers supporters than Oldham at Boundry park @ 1987/88 to see 'Don McKays blue 'n' white army'....8k plus on the big open terrace. Stoke away around the same season to see Rovers finally lose that unbeaten run.....5k and a bit 'o bother at the end of the game. A bit before my time but one for our Burnley visitors on here to chew on: Turf moor, Boxing day '77. Over 10k travelled from Blackburn(Dean Hayes book 'East Lancashire Derbies' describes Rovers as being 'cheered on by a massive following'). By all accounts the away end was packed solid by 1 o'clock and this saw hundreds of Rovers fans being put in the Bee hole end!! Would love to hear a few more recollections of that day by some old heads on here
  11. Stead to start!......come on, buy those tickets and back the lads. http://www.thefa.com/
  12. Expect a crowd of between 15-20k. The England U21's played the Ukraine at Middlesborough in August in front of only just over 5,000!!!
  13. If either club came in with 10 million chances are we would sell..in the cold light of day we all have to face the fact that Rovers are no longer a footballing force both on and off the field. Such is life.
  14. A bunch of pussies who are more interested in the pay day rather than wearing the famous shirt. That aside, 2-1 England.
  15. I've already given my opinion for the drop in attendances...spood fed, glory hunting support that joined the bandwagon when JW arrived combined with traditional fickle support!!!! The above aren't conditions that should give us the green light for a merger are they though? Rovers have known much harder times, the 70's 80's saw the club on its knees but was a merger ever mooted then?.............. All I'm saying is that clubs in this area have very strong traditions, strong bonds with their respective community's that have lasted for over a century NONE of Blackburn ,Burnley,Bolton,Preston and Blackpool can be considered 'nothing clubs'....this is where your argument for club merger falls flat on its face Theno. Your serve.
  16. 'He also tried it with Hibs and Hearts and they did likewise Jim. The common denominator of all this is that none of em have won a bean since!' AHHHHH.... now there lies the crux of the problem theno!! ALL of the Lancashire town clubs DO have traditions and have had major success in the past and some most noticably in the present i.e. Rovers and Bolton to an extent.
  17. 'Such a merged entity would never have a foundation of die-hard fans, and as such would be doomed to failure. ' Theno conveniently choose to edit the similar point I made in my post above....it just wouldn't wash with the vast majority pal!
  18. With respect theno give the dubious merger scenario a rest eh!.At a guess I would say nearly 100% of supporters would be against such an horrendous move.......its complete pie in the sky mate and will never be allowed to happen. The Jack Walker years were very good for Blackburn Rover fc the club but In my opinion it also spawned a new breed of spoon fed supporter at Ewood, supporters who were in it for the short term, supporters who when the going gets a little tough disappear into thin air.....this is without doubt what we are seeing happen now. I feel Philipl does have a point with a comparison to what happened in the '60's...Rovers fans are very fickle and always have been. Sadly, some 'traditions' are hard to change.
  19. Thats probably correct philipl but it sounds like the something for nothing brigade may spoil the party this time though. £10 and £5 too dear!?
  20. Smith yet again pulls Utd out of the brown stuff!!
  21. I'll be getting my tickets tomorrow,Stead looks set to be named in the squad.....wonder if we'll see anything like the near 30k gate against Greece a few years ago?
  22. Sounds like Rovers in the very near future if the crowds dont increase.
  23. The club dont have the balls to do it tash
  24. Amazing stat: In 1980, the then 3RD DIVISION Rovers played Villa in the FA cup infront of nearly 30,000 fans at Ewood. . . . . . . Nowt as queer as Blackburn folk eh.
