I'm amazed Dunn's name has only been fleetingly mentioned a couple of times on here.

I remember seeing him and Tugay against Lampard and Petit for Chelsea and thinking I'd much rather have our two.

Dunn was thought of as the new Gascoigne at one stage. I remember him scoring a cracking goal for England U21's (possibly against Holland) and being raved about by the national media.

He obviously did have injury problems, but I think he could have been top, top level. Should have had a long England career - he was that good.

I mean, he 'underachieved' for various reasons mentioned in terms of international career, but for us he achieved a great deal - promotion to the Premiership, a cup, Europe...not many have that on their Rovers resume.

  2. Taking players on loan with no option to buy is pure laziness and refusal to properly scout potential foreign talent. No matter how well a player does here for a handful of months, once he goes we are back to square one - where's the benefit in that? If domestic options are limited, 100% there is talent out there in other leagues but we need to invest time and resources to find such players. Aka the job of a football manager to delegate, aka a job Tony Mowbray has completely failed at.

  3. 3 points off at the moment, which is not the end of the world in this crazy league, but we need to figure out our best system and start picking up some more points now. We are not winning our home games, but absolutely nothing stopping us from getting points away. The whole "win your home games and be happy with a draw away" philosophy just doesn't apply to this league, not in this season anyway.

  4. I will say this - doesn't matter how many penalties or goals or whatever there are after the fact, Swansea 100% should have been down to 10 men after the 9th minute for that kick on Walton. No two ways about that, and that would have changed the game dramatically. Once again robbed and left for the dead by the referee. I don't care if it's useless or not, we need to be writing to the FA, going to the fullest extent of the law to stand up for ourselves because we have been robbed blind over and over again. This is criminal.

  5. Special mention also to the referee for saving Swansea from a clear red card and then not giving us a clear penalty for a foul on Gallagher. Happening so often this season it's barely even noticed anymore. When the club doesn't protest and stand up for itself, refs will continue doing this.

  6. Unfortunately exactly as I feared. We dominated and should be in front, but Rothwell has cost us with some shockingly bad finishing on a couple of occasions. Take him off for Buckley at half time if we are to win this game.

Also Brewster is a fantastic striker, one of the best in the country. How he has ended up on loan in the Championship is beyond me. Swansea have pulled off one of the best loan moves of all time in my opinion.

  7. Has Tony got it out of his system by now? Starting Rothwell and playing Gallagher on the wing? Has he seen enough failure with those choices yet to realize, and be the last person on earth to do so, that Rothwell does not do well when he is starting, and Gallagher can do next to nothing on the wing? If he has not, then this game is gone as well.

As for the back - Nyambe is too valuable to move him out of RB. I'd rather risk it with Mulgrew again at CB than lose Nyambe as RB.

  8. I mean its an absolute fucking disgrace from Mowbray. An absolute fucking disgrace. What else is to be said. He wrecks the team that was doing well in order to once again, for no reasonable logic whatsoever, 0 reason, shoehorn Gallagher onto that right flank, and there you go, all sharpness and urgency goes out of the team. Same for Buckley being dropped. Just everything that was working in previous games he single-handedly wrecks.
