  1. Everything is just extremely fine margins. Yes I do believe JDT has brought a new vision in terms of how we play and most of the squad is working hard to adapt to it, and it is bringing some benefits. On the other hand...we are also relying heavily on magnificent goals from a striker that will possibly leave in January and we will be unable to replace his output, and on great saves by our GK. All of which is to say we could have very easily lost or drawn a number of the games we've won, so there has been some good fortune recently - fortune that inevitably runs out.

  2. Crazy good feeling that, beating TM with exactly the mindset he was opposed to - giving young players a try.

That being said, football is crazy. A handful of times this season we've looked absolutely hopeless - yet here we are banging them in and at the top. Diaz has become an absolutely top class player, best striker in the league. Brings so much more to the team than Adam Armstrong. All that is positives. But having said that...if the ref gave Sunderland a penalty, would have been completely different game. Luck is just a massive part of football.

  3. I love Travis' character and it is great to have someone like him as a captain.

That being said...our midfield is not up to par. Travis, Morton, Buckley...none of them are good enough at this level. The way we were ragdolled by Luton was beneath anything acceptable. I don't want to fault the effort, but there isn't really any getting back from such a humbling. I would be embarrassed and angry at myself if I was so helplessly bullied on the field. January our priority must be fighters and tacklers - because we will face a lot tougher teams than Luton if were to ever progress.

Parker wasn't going to be able to buy his way out of being a bang average manager, as he did in his Championship seasons with Fulham and Bournemouth, so angled to get sacked after the 9-0 before his reputation was completely destroyed. Mission accomplished.

I mean he may be average, but he is also right that clubs in the Premiership need insane, massive, mind-numbing investment to compete even on a basic level, when even Forest are smashing transfer records and buying a brand new squad from stars all over Europe. Imagine if we somehow found ourselves in the Prem with the investment we have now. You could stick Pep and Klopp as co-managers, I would be stunned if we stole literally a single point all season.

Unfortunately, sadly it means that Bournemouth are a club with self-respect. With Venkys, we are not. Venkys have suffocated the life and soul of the club, to such an extent that we tolerate getting mauled by the likes of Fulham at home with 0 consequences at the time for the manager.

We will never really move forward with Venkys.

And add Dundee United to the list of clubs where 9-0 is apparently not acceptable. Who would have known there are things like acceptable standards.

LB, 2 CBs, CM, ans striker all required. We shouldn't let a good start paper over the cracks. We've got a bottom half squad at the moment.

However you slice it, we can't be less than two weeks away from the transfer window closing with so little investment in key areas and be told we have a 'healthy budget.' It is starting to feel like we weren't told the truth.

  8. My question tonight is the passing. Whatever the statistics show, it looked like 80% of our key passes were going wrong. Like the players had the wrong boots on or something. I cannot comprehend how the passing level dropped so, so dramatically, for everyone on the pitch? For no real reason either, Reading aren't doing all that much pressing. I don't understand.
